### "Large practices; Do not waste your time "

February 7, 2023

1.0

I wanted to enroll on electronic billing via practice fusion but the communication between the programs is not two way . PF does not push schedule into advance , you will need to manually do so.

Pros

This program is not design for a large practice . We were assigned a train person that had no knowledge and was learning the program herself . Our practice was out in the hands of someone that was not ready . After 5 months using the program we had to bill outside of it to get paid , still waiting on correct data transfer , most insurance carriers were advised to be added incorrectly setting out billing back to almost zero . I’m writing this review to prevent others from making the mistake of enrolling .

Cons

The program is not easy to use or setup . Clearing house takes too long to provide Information about a claim status . Expect to pay 5-6 months setting up the program or more .

Reason for choosing AdvancedMD EHR

They promised a swift change and a functional program . None of it was true .

### "Poor quality and high price equals the worst combination."

March 26, 2019

1.0

I use this software for scheduling, billing and EHR. It is not a good software.

Pros

Unfortunately I have nothing good to say about this software.

Cons

The app is difficult to use and slow, and quite often, there are technical difficulties when modules do not work properly. The tech support does not know well the software, and the Sales Team and Training Team do not know or are unable to set you up with the software modules correctly. Patient portal is difficult to use by patients, radiology results are not interfacing. The CPT codes for the labs are not updated, and as a result the lab companies are not performing the tests requested, the fax module has delays the transmission of documents by days. MIPS billing is not efficient and horribly time consuming Doctor's Notes templates are badly created

After 4 months post going paperless, I can say AdvancedMD has been a mixed bag. We are a multispecialty group that primarily deals with workers compensation which requires a plethora of individualized forms and data. We use both the Practice Mangement (PM) billing program and the Electronic Health Records (EHR) program, but we only use the PM to hold information as billing in workers compensation must be done separately by another company. The PM is counterintuitive with it being practically impossible to track and tag custom information. For instance, we need to track attorney names and address attached to a case/patient. There are custom data entry fields, but these fields are not accessable by any reporting, datasheet, or anywhere within the PM or EHR. I couldn't build a simple demosheet in the PM. The EHR can only get some information from the PM program and only in the predesignated format which is strange. So, if you want the diagnoses from the billing program you can only get it as a table with attached start, chronic, and resolved dates (dates which can't be accessed from the EHR). We had to repeat the data in the EHR for many instances like this. Where AdvancedMD shines is the possibilities for programming custom reports in the EHR. While the interface can be frustrating with inane quirks, it is possible to create true detailed narrative reports. I have incredibly detailed reports that are quickly generated from the exam, but it took me over 150 hours to program. The customizable reports are why we stayed with AdvancedMD. Recording exams and handling chart items in the EHR is a breeze. The iLearn program is good. They can even do basic customization for you. You have to realize that someone at your office needs to become the expert on the system. You cannot depend on anyone at AdvancedMD to be able to change your templates later on. It is, however, relatively easy. Technical support can only reread the help files for you. In summary, we love the EHR organization and the custom report ability. We don't like the PM program due to its inability to have any custom date and some of the quirks of programming the EHR. If they made just a few basic functionalities available and had technical service, they could have a product that was head and shoulders above the rest.

### "Poor Customer Service"

April 24, 2023

3.0

Getting accurate reports, customer service as mentioned

Pros

Logging into the system is easy , just type in your name, password and office key

Cons

We do not have an account manager, so when something goes wrong with the system and it will, because technology always has a glitch we send emails and make calls to 1-800-nos-ervice!! They need to improve this part of the company to RETAIN customers.

### "Great Experience, Fantastic Support"

December 6, 2017

5.0

Pros

Any time I have had an issue or a question on how to make something work for our needs the support personnel at Advanced MD / EHR have stayed on the phone and walked me through my question until I understood everything, they would then even make suggestions on how to make it more efficient. They always seem to go the extra mile every time you need them. The whole system from the support team to the software is easy to use and very multi-functional.

Cons

More detailed Advanced MD manual with step by step instruction on how to do things with out calling support, for example the exclusions tab in the Claims Center. It would be nice to have more detailed information as to how to fix the issues and when you need to delete and re-enter a charge after making corrections. The EHR is great as it is but having the ability to "lock" or "secure" an account completely, due to a patient requesting nothing be given out to anyone at anytime.

### "AdvancedMD PM - Improving but...."

February 23, 2017

I have had many issues with AMD over the years. I have been using the product for 5 years. The system looks outdated (although they are updating it slowly). Some sections require multiple clicks when you would think it would be just one. I have had multiple issues with support not following up. In fact, on one occasion I was informed that I was the only practice having the issue and they had no desire to fix it (which is poor customer service!). They charge you for each and every little thing separately. Other PM systems include certain features that AMD wants to charge additionally each month for, such as appointment confirmations and insurance verification. My biggest issue is employee tracking. You have to pay for additional reporting features to run a report to see whatever employee was doing each day (and they weren't really clear that with the additional reporting that I could create the report I wanted!). They leave much to be desired and I am looking for another system. We just don't want to be stuck like we are with AMD.

Pros

claims processing is clear. That's about ALL this system currently has going for it.

Cons

Everything else. Literally every single thing else.

### "Poorly written program"

April 16, 2018

2.0

Customer support generally easy to reach and very nice. Unfortunately, they frequently cannot help.

Pros

Schedule relatively easy to use. It seemed easy to use and learn. Has an embedded credit card processor which saves steps but is expensive.

Cons

Cannot edit any payment entries. It voids the transaction and you have to re-enter it. Reports are inadequate without having to purchase a specialized program so that you can create your own reports. . Does not have a clear to read report for only patient payments for year end reports for patients. . Does not show how a patient payment was paid or the payment date or check number if a check.. Does not total the payments so that patient's can match up their payments. We do liability cases and workers comp and we can not easily print CMS forms, or reports. The transaction detail reports do not list the payer and do not break down payments or write offs by insurance carriers. It is listed in a lump sum only.

### "Horrible Implementation "

June 5, 2018

2.0

It's the only way I can do my job on a daily basis.

Pros

It's super customizable and it's aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It also is web-based which makes working from different locations easier.

Cons

Right off the bat it is pretty obvious that this software was not built for speciality and/or large clinics. Within the first few days of using it, I have already found a few workflow options that literally make no sense at all. I was told by an AdvancedMD staff member that I should have no reason to go into the chart if I don't want to start a note....as though physicians and staff members never look at a patient's chart outside of their visit? They also praise it's great customizable templates but fail to mention that they're barely useable and will need constant work to make them printable for other offices or referrals. The fact that you also can't open a patient's chart from the scheduler is bizarre. The company sold us on their new "Beta" system but it has so many glitches that it's almost unusable.

### "Beware If you are NOT an MD, don't!"

June 7, 2022

If you are not a hospital or a very large medical office of the body, DO NOT. The sell is excellent, marketing excellent, but like Jimmy Choos everyone wants a pair but really? You at work every day.....for comfort, ease and practicality without the price gouging, in behavioral health..... Simple Practice!

Pros

The people, once you get off hold, are patient and knowledgeable.

Cons

The data is held hostage for another 2 grand after bleeding you nearly $300 monthly for what Simple Practice can give (plus Google Calendar intergration!) for less than $100.

### "AMAZING. THE CONCIERGE OF MEDICAL SOFTWARE. "

February 16, 2018

5.0

Pros

I like everything about the product. But what I like most is how they listen to their customers. Us. They take our ideas and wants and make them reality. They have us meet with their engineers and designers to show them what we like and what we need. They take our ideas and incorporate them into the software. Then come back. Show us what they have done with our ideas. Then make them a reality. They listen then produce. Always giving us things to make our lives easier. A clinician is the person that should be designing the medical software. Everyone wants better and bigger. That’s what you get with ADVANCEDMD. You can’t go wrong with them.

Cons

I don’t know if this is really are any cons but ADVANCEDMD offers hundreds of templates. It’s hard to know what to choose if you haven’t used an EHR before. You can customize the templates to your liking once you know what will work best for your practice.

### "Advanced MD is adequate "

November 12, 2019

It was better in some ways for us (pediatrics) than our previous software. So far I have not found a great pediatric practice management software application.

Pros

It's pretty easy to learn. They have many videos and their tech support is pretty good. They do not outsource support which was important in choosing this software.

Cons

Most of the time it's very slow. We don't use the EHR part and only the practice management side so I don't know if that would make a difference.

### "We have used Advanced EHR/PM x 3 years since opening a small clinic. Satisfaction is fair. "

May 11, 2018

2.0

The benefits are the mobility from desktop to mobile device is very useful and I believe the possibility of capturing our quality data will be good....eventually.

Pros

The tab driven system is relatively easy to navigate. I believe it has the ability to address our quality measures and the templates are configurable. Customer support is good about putting out fires, however not preventing them. I really appreciate the CIE inbound and outbound option.

Cons

The absolute LACK of timely communication and the lack of support to small clinics. For example, the ability to capture MIPS/MACRA data is available, however not easily accessible at least not to this provider who is also IT!!!! The configurable templates are probably "easy" if you are into IT!!!! There are too many "products", ie NEST, Insight etc. with limited explanation to their purpose. There doesn't seem to be any proactive resources for small clinics.

Very good

Pros

That it can be customized -- to a point -- to my practice.

Cons

Many things can not be added or changed unless done through the company -- and if it is not on their list of changes it may never happen. It is also not as intuitive to use as one would hope.

### "Excellent product with poor follow through from sales office"

February 4, 2020

5.0

There are many reasons to recommend this software. We believe the EHR is very well designed. But again our major frustration at this point is that the sales office refuses to call us back and set up for the 10 hours of training we’re asking for regarding doing our medical notes. I just believe that this may be one person who is highly dysfunctional but it doesn’t make any difference what causes it if you can’t get the support.

Pros

The software is extremely well designed and works very well. There is functionality in it that is well supported by the ad hoc customer service team. The EHR is the cornerstone of our operations.

Cons

There is certain functionality that we do not understand and sales which committed to give us some hours of training has refused to contact us. We spent too much time doing medical notes partially because there is functionality that we think we could use better with some support.

### "No Implementation Support and Impossible to Get Started On"

February 17, 2021

2.0

Very poor customer service and accessibility to their team.

Pros

Haven't been able to tell because it's taken 6 months to get our account set up.

Cons

We have been longtime clients of this software for one medical practice, and have been looking to get set up with a second account with them for a separate medical practice for about 6 months now. Despite working with them for years, on our new account, they clearly do not care about us. Our direct account manager has literally told me that she doesn't have time for us, our emails go unresponded to, calls go straight to voicemail - they make it impossible to set up an account with them once you sign the agreement.

### "Best PM Application out there - HANDS DOWN! NO COMPARISON TO OTHERS THAT ARE CURRENTLY OUT ON THE MARKET - I KNOW."

December 8, 2016

5.0

Listen... My words are worth their weight and gold! I do IT. I know computer software applications in healthcare. I have used almost everyone of them out there and can tell you this.. Billing. If you get another program your business will not be as financially successful as it could be. I know how to build databases, program and can tell you this was written by people who have done the job! I can't rave enough about the product! Worse one out there... Centricity - Most labor intensive billing module there is! It's horrible. It in itself can cause a company to always stay in the red. I am experiencing it now and have twice in the past.Centricity - GET THIS CAN'T PRINT DOSAGE ON PAPER CLAIMS YOU HAVE TO MANUALLY ADD IT. WANT TO PRINT A CLAIM FORM AND SAVE IT TO YOUR DESKTOP - CAN'T. - STAY AWAY FROM CENTRICITY - AMD - WILL BE MORE EXPENSIVE BUT YOU WILL SEE TRIPLE THE CASH FLOW. - IT'S CRAZY THE BLACK AND WHITE OF IT.

Pros

Everything. - It would be lengthy to tell you the specifics of why it's better. Okay let's start here.... Everything is in a box - and it all flows and makes sense. button are where they should be. the process is smooth - I am a systems efficiencies expert and this is the only application that can follow suit. Online app can access from home.

Cons

Um.... THus the point. I swear to Jesus if you knew me and to know I sit and can't write anything shocks me... I am a critic is the worst way.. Advanced MD is the total package - I have no complaints about people support or applications. I don't think I would use advanced md if I was a physical therapist. there that's it - it is not the best application for PT or DME. - but all other specialties it is the best.

### "Advanced MD Provides Effective Solutions for Practices"

August 23, 2019

4.0

I really enjoy working with this company. I find them friendly and helpful. The software has its occasional problems (cloud-based can be effected by server issues, internet connectivity, etc) but they are never issues that last long - AMD is quick to act to take care of their customers.

Pros

Ease of template creation and modification Ease of payment posting and billing functions Patient Portal included Many add-on features that integrate well with the software

Cons

Issues are usually limited to lower level knowledge of software functions - however, a call to support generally handles these problems quickly.

I highly recommend Advanced MD.

Pros

Advanced MD is an amazing program. You can literally teach new employees the program within a few minutes. There are so many ways to get the same response and it has just about every option to help our medical practice that we need. Their customer service is always exceptional and professional.

Cons

Sometimes there are small qlitches, but they are always corrected immediately and we have never been down more than a couple hours once or twice in over 12 years. I would also like better reporting but I know they are in the works.

Reason for choosing AdvancedMD EHR

Customer service. Professional program and staff. Ease of program.

### "Awful experience"

February 11, 2020

1.0

Pros

I like Nuemd and I thought this would be an easy transition; however the service is NOT the same and much worse.

Cons

Transfering to Advamced MD was the worst decision I made. I had countless issues with the billing department and patient statements are ALWAYS wrong. I had to do double the work just to correct the mistakes Advanced MD created. Patients would call upset because they were getting statements in the mail stating they had balances, when in fact AdVanced MD was not posted EOB's correctly. Now I am stuck with paying thousands of dollars every month with a company that causes me more issues, which requires more time.

### "They want your money!"

October 28, 2022

My words would be to kind to write compared to there are enough words in the dictionary to describe this overpriced unprofessional company that wants your dollar and not help you keep your patients.

Pros

There are good things like notifying patients and creating your custom templates.

Cons

PISS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I have even written to the CEO with a lack of response. I had a trouble ticket open, and it was never resolved. They have outages but never compensate for a discount for the month. They nickel and dime you on everything compared to other software.

### "Satisfied Long Standing Client"

June 22, 2017

4.0

We have been a client for many years are very satisfied.

Pros

Having been a client for many years we have been through the "growing pains" with this company. Overall it has been a favorable relationship. AMD is always improving on the client experience. Initially I was not excited about the feature of having to create "online cases" for issues/questions/problems due to the concern for turnaround time. Overall this has turned into a positive experience as I no longer spend time calling the client line for support and the response time with a resolution is usually within 24 hours. Having an assigned Relationship Manager who is very attentive to my specific office needs has been extremely helpful.

Cons

All software companies have there issues AMD is no different but I cannot identify one specific area that I would deem a "con".

### "Robust but custom report is painful"

June 14, 2018

3.0

Pros

Very detailed and every module is designed keeping the provider need in mind and to provide powerful case management and billing functionality

Cons

Custom Report is very powerful tool provided to build reports. However, denials codes, remarks codes when tied with the claim, duplicates as it captures all transaction/insurance responses and should tie the recent insurance response only by default. There is no way to filter or apply rule to resolve the said issue and makes is very difficult to perform denial management. Default denial reports are anyways no match or provides freedom to add required headers/information. Additionally a single claim cannot be re-billed as a claim and has to be performed CPT wise for each claim and can be made easy. Customer Support is unable to understand the request and acknowledge/honor the improvement required. Otherwise AdvMD is comparatively is well designed and has huge potential if constantly developed.

### "Very easy to learn and use."

July 11, 2017

5.0

We recently had to leave Adv MD because our EHR, that we had before Adv MD, recently developed scheduling and billing modules. That kept everything under one roof, but we still miss the convenience of the many features of Adv MD that our EHR does not have. I have no reservation in recommending Adv MD.

Pros

There were many reports useful for billing, contract negotiation, AR, and patient demographics. It was easy to break out what charts had not been billed yet, what procedures were used the most, and how many patients were in what financial class or carrier. The schedule was super easy to see at a glance, daily, weekly or monthly.

Cons

Some reports did not offer the option of beginning and ending dates. For example, to get a report of how many worker's compensation patients we saw in any given year, we would have to create a custom report that required a fee.

### "Deceit and lack of support "

February 8, 2020

2.0

Initially I was so excited to get into this product. I thought I would get a superior product as the cost was 3 times more than most of their competitors. I have had nothing but up charging, hidden fees, limited service and support during implementation, and non delivery of a working interface. I am 4 months in and cannot event charge my patients copays or utilize their data features that were the selling ticket. I have contacted support and put on hold for over 1 hour with “I don’t know” as an answer to never receive an answer because I have patient to see and cannot wait on hold for hours. Again, this is during my implementation phase. I hate to see what this will be like when I am off “on support”. I have also been charged for services promised to be refunded but then charged anyways. As a new business I think they will put me of business before I can get started due to their fees. I’m having to work extra per diem shifts to cover this emr that I CANNOT USE TO PAY FOR THE PATIENTS I AM SEEING BECAUS THEY WILL NOT TRAIN ME TO DO MY BILLING.

Pros

The interface looks great but is not functional. The ability to see the data from the insurance companies for benefits

Cons
