Pros

The customization of AdvancedMD is extremely useful especially for multi-specialty clinics. We're able to customize the workflow for our different specialties and drastically reduce the amount of time it takes our providers to complete their documentation.

Cons

A lot of the features are dependent on the user's commitment to learning the platform. If you're not willing to put in the time to learn the system it could lead to a lot of frustration.

The ease of scheduling, payment posting and most reports.

Pros

The ease in scheduling and rescheduling patients. In EHR, I like that you can find a patient by first or last name, DOB, etc.

Cons

The amount of keystrokes it takes to do payments and receipts. Since the change in ownership seems that the entire system has slowed down and the weekly changes do not help that.

Pros

The AdvancedMD platform offers many excellent features, its hard to point out a favorite, as all of the features are so important and effective in their respective functions. All in all, I would have to say the best feature is the transparency of the platform. It allows our physicians to utilize the program with all of their data available to them, and our progress as a medical billing company. AdvancedMD cares about their clients, they are always available and are eager to take our suggestions and implement them. We feel like our physicians practice, and our business is in good hands when we use their products.

Cons

Internet Explorer exclusivity. IE causes lag, and other complications when using AdvancedMD.

Cons

poor customer service poor support poor software design charting difficult, every provider has complained about the complexity of using not suited for mental health/behavioral health

We have MDI for our EMR and Advanced MD for our scheduling and billing. They don't communicate with each other and when updates are done claim do not go out. Their customer service is the worst of any vendor I have worked with over the years. Stay away from this company until they can get their act together.

Pros

Very hard to find one. Reports are not bad, but not great either. They should flow seamlessly with MDI, which they do not.

Cons

Customer Support is horrible. They always blame someone else for the problems your having with their software. They Contract with relay health which you cant talk to but expect you to call the insurance carriers EDI department to get a problem fixed. The price we pay for the service we get is way too high. Look around before buying this software.

Please save yourself the frustration; don't buy this product.

Pros

The program has a great deal of options for reporting; if you can find it! The clearinghouse option is our favorite thing because we are able to check claim statuses almost immediately, but the extremely poor quality service and hidden costs of the program detract from the good qualities in the program itself.

Cons

Customer service is non-existent. The daily calls and e-mails we received while considering this program should've been a warning to us, but instead, I thought we were getting a great service provider and product. We didn't get that at all. Instead, we got "self-serve" training, no responses to e-mails or calls with questions once we started the system, promises that were not kept, and a headache from making multiple attempts just to get basic tasks completed. We've been with the company 6 months and it's the worst business decision I've ever made. I feel as though I've let my company down because there HAS to be something better than this out there.

Reliability comes first! Customer Service is Awesome! Great reporting - easy to learn and customized pricing!

Cons

They are good in what they do! Some interfaces not available with EMR's which i am assuming is because of Strategic reason

### "Buyer Beware"

They have approved 5 hours additional training, but that has taken 3-4 weeks to get that approved. Now we are waiting on a new implementation consultant to contact us....... We were supposed to go live August 1st, then pushed out to September 3rd, now that is up in the air. Got our first bill and can't use the system. Trying to train ourselves and taking more time that we just don't have.

Pros

Waived fees, discounted pricing, I can't think of anything else

Cons

Too many to mention..... Training was a disaster, our implementation consultant was all over the place with training. Always felt rushed through the sessions. Always have more questions than answers. Very slow to respond to our needs and felt like they were stringing us along instead of making us feel that they wanted our business.

Reason for choosing AdvancedMD EHR

Sounded like a great fit for our clinic and they were able to get us a price that was considerably lower than current system and seemed like they would be able to offer more than what we have..... I guess in hindsight, it was too good to be true

Physicians beware. If you have a dispute with your billing company and the billing company is the administrator of the "key," you will find yourself locked out of all patient information. You will not even have access to your schedule - much less patient accounts and demographics. ADP sides with the billing company in a dispute. The customer service is lacking. Prior to terminating our billing company, a representative assured us that we would have full access to the information. After three weeks of pleading our case and asking for our schedule as a minimum, we were told that our practice information is not ours and that we would not be given access. We can not work the large AR or even find a simple patient phone number. Had we been told up front that the information would be locked down, we would have secured the information prior to the termination. The customer service end has no continuity. No one gives the same answer, and they transfer you around rather than definitively answering the questions. I have spent over two hours at a time trying to get an answer. We had to resort to involving lawyers only for this company to side against their own policy stated on the company website. Be cautious if you are not the "key" administrator.

What I like most about the system is everything is at your finger tips and easy to learn. I get excited when I see they have updated something and it never crossed my mind it could improve any better than what it was.

Cons

Least favorite: I wish the eligibility for insurance gave a little more details that other systems do.

Pros

The system is very easy to use, train on and MOST errors can be corrected easily. PM and EHR both user friendly.

Cons

Reversals need work they are a pain and time consuming. Refunds that were processed in error cannot be voided and put back on which can cause confusion with a refund on an account that is not really a refund.

Pros

I have worked as an Office Manager/Practice Manager/Billing Specialist for 7 years and this program has surpassed any of the others that I have worked with. I would recommend it to anyone who has their operation fully in house. It has the ability to run reports, submit claims and eligibility quickly, track authorizations and not have many hold ups in between entering notes and actual claim submission. You can track productivity in the office staff and providers. Tech Support is always available when/if I need them during business hours and resolutions seem to be quick and fairly simple.

Cons

I would have liked a longer implementation time and longer contact with the implementation specialist to be involved in our case, as sometimes after the initial excitement of a new system passes, some questions and/or tweaks need to happen. It would be nice to have it more mental health friendly, although there are definite workarounds that make it simple to use. All in all, I'm very happy with the transition.

Pros

The ease of use with this software is great! It makes training new staff members very easy. It is also easy to check if Meaningful Use requirements are being met!

Cons

There are times when you are working on a task and then the program has to restart. It happens with no notice and the information is not saved. But on the plus side it only happens to a single user so it is nice that the whole office isn't down. Also, it starts right back up again so there is little time wasted.

Pros

There are two really amazing aspects to this product. One is the ICD 10 coding abilities. It is so user friendly that you could virtually have no knowledge of coding and be able to use this software for billing with the terribly confusing ICD-10 codes. The other huge plus is being able to chat online instantly with someone from support at any time. A large majority of the time, they can handle any issues right then and there.

Cons

There really isn't a whole lot to not like about this product. I would like to see the ability to do some different things in the system such as run invoices instead of statements or record some different types of data. This is really catering to different types of offices(we are not a pcp/family med). Also, it can be hard sometimes to find the right person to talk to when you need something out of the ordinary.

Cons

Some of the add-ons are costly. Worth it, but your initial price will grow because you'll want to experience more.

DIFFICULT TO GENERATE CHARTS FOR TRANSMISSION TO OTHERS WHEN NECESSARY. ONE MUST DO A WORD MERGE FROM THE RAW NOTE TO A WORD FOR WINDOWS FORMAT.

Pros

1\. Service/support/training: I am halfway through training with their medical billing software and couldn't be happier. Their team from sales to training, to the implementation specialist tasked with setting up every single one of our payors has been exemplary. In light of full disclosure, I had one bump in the road initially with a team member's communication but as soon as I communicated my dissatisfaction and what had happened, the staff promptly took responsibility, exhibited empathy, compassion and transparency and set me up with a new great trainer that same day. The ability to take responsibility for mistakes and fix them is a huge litmus test for me and speaks volumes to the integrity of their staff. 2. Again, I am a new user so there is still a lot to learn, but what I have experienced so far is a claims scrubber that is SO efficient and easy to use that I am getting my work done in minutes that I thought would take hours. Processing payments is proving to be equally quick and easy.

Cons

1\. Not mac or chrome compatible. Our practice purchased a pc in order to use this software. I am not a fan of Internet Explorer or PC's as a general rule for user interface and truly wish I could use this on my mac without having to run a clunky parallels windows interface (which I don't recommend to anyone)

I especially like the ease of switching from the PM side versus the EHR side. I do the billing, auditing and charges so this is very important to me.

Cons

I don't like that when you do a reversal on a unapplied payment and you make a mistake it is completely lost and you are unable to fix it.

Pros

software/portal relatively easy to use. As long as you deal with the portal/software only you are safe. If you need any human help/assistance they show their true color.

Cons

Due to their lack of accountability and integrity, I was forced to terminate their service. The company does not show any regards for their customer. They completely went back on their agreement and thereby putting my practice in a great deal of stress and financial loss.

Pros

We are most impressed with the range of product features and modules that address each portion of a medical practice. The ease of use of this application makes it easy for our staff to complete daily tasks at industry leading levels to ensure consistent client satisfaction. The user-friendliness also makes the on-boarding of new clients a quick, easy transition.

Cons

Although there is a 99% up-time guarantee, we feel the system down-times seem to be more frequent than what is acceptable. This not only affects our daily workflows, but causes a tremendous amount of stress on our clients, making those incoming calls difficult to answer during a system outage.
