### "Look at all options - get EVERYTHING in writing!"

October 24, 2019

2.0

We have learned that this is a company that offers no flexibility to a practice to accommodate financial issues of patients. As a company they are rigid and inflexible. The contracting process is sketchy, you sign to commit and then the contract comes, was different than what was described by the sales representative - read the fine print. Get everything in a detailed document BEFORE signing anything. We had used a portion of the software before switching to them for what we thought was a full service billing platform... You cannot get any manager on the phone to talk with you, when you commit to term the service at the end of the contract, prepare to be ghosted. Look elsewhere and know your options. We learned a painful lesson.

Pros

We liked nothing “most” about this software.

Cons

Customer service assistance is difficult, sales representative oversold and under delivered; patients held forever when calling their call center, we counted the days to move to another platform.

Reason for choosing AdvancedMD EHR

Didn’t know better. Now we know better and are switching.

### "AdvancedMD is good"

August 31, 2022

5.0

Overall it was good experience by using AdvancedMD and I recommend it to others as well.

Pros

Working in AdvancedMD is good and it's user friendly.

Cons

Sometimes there is glitch. Software becomes slow for 5 minutes. Again it will be back to normal.

### "One of the WORST!!!!"

February 2, 2021

1.0

Nightmarish.

Pros

There really isn't anything I can think of.

Cons

Too much to list. Clunky and impossible to use. You have to practically have a PhD is coding software in order to customize a template. Most of the support staff are cocky. The company is unresponsive to complaints and will try to blame you for the problems you have with their horrible software.

Reason for choosing AdvancedMD EHR

Already using their Revenue Cycle Management service, which turned out to be just as bad, and we were desperate for an EMR when Practice Fusion illegally dumped us.

### "AdvancedMD is an integral software in our practice"

January 23, 2018

5.0

Pros

The best feature for me personally is the ability to work on my iPhone and iPad. I am extremely busy and not always able to sit at my desktop to work so this feature is crucial for me.

Cons

It was a bit difficult to learn how to customize templates the way I prefer but once you get the hang of it, it's fairly easy to work with.

### "Ease of use"

July 13, 2022

5.0

Pros

I liked how everything is all in one place and when you know what you are doing you can access all files, records, Etcetera.

Cons

It is not the easiest charting system to use and can be confusing at times. Took weeks of training when other systems are much quicker.

### "AMD Software"

May 16, 2019

5.0

AMD has been very helpful in all aspects on my day to day business. It does most everything I need it to for my office. I've been a customer since 2012 and wouldn't consider changing to anything else. I once used the phrase when aproched by another software company, "Why would I give up my Mercedes and drive a Volkswagon Bus?"

Pros

Easy to use and very versatile. My sales rep Summer Cox has been so supportive and extremely helpful in all aspects.

Cons

Sometimes calling support can be a challenge. Hold times get very long and to leave a call back number is usually not responded to in a timely manner.

### "Would not recommend AdvancedMD"

December 9, 2015

1.0

Pros

The schedule module is good. It is easy to pull up patients and schedule them. The EHR is easy to use to pull up reports. Once you have your templates in to merge with word documents, which is VERY labor intense, it is easy to use.

Cons

AdvancedMD tech support is poor. We first signed up for the billing so we could bill facility fees and professional fees. It turned out we couldn't bill facility fees because the UB04 was not set up correctly and they couldn't fix it. The reports are terrible. They have updated them but we would have to pay more money a month for the update. That should be included, as it is with most software. We cannot write prescriptions for controlled substances, unlike we were told we could, when we added the EHR. We cannot get it to print on the forms required by California law. I called the tech and engineering people for 8 months trying to get it fixed and they never figured it out or got back to me. Now we are stuck with it, having to write out the RX by hand and then scan in a copy of it or manually add it, each time the patient is seen.

### "Good product, terrible customer 'service'"

August 16, 2019

5.0

It's helped eliminate a lot of manual effort with scanning in documents. THe reporting is pretty good. However, the implementation managers are terrible. They start presentations telling you that they will not respond for 48 hours to calls or emails outside of standing meetings. What they should say is that they won't respond at all. This mentality is common to all of the support staff.

Pros

I like the fact that in many respects the system does what we need it to do, and has many features that reduce, if not eliminate paperwork.

Cons

The support. Horrendous, slow, and/or non-responses are common.

### "Great Solution for Practice Management and Billing"

November 3, 2016

4.0

Our practice (25+ providers) have been using AdvancedMD billing software for the past 9 months and have been very happy thus far. We switched from Kareo as we needed a more customizable product that could better handle the large number of insurance carriers we interact with. We found Kareo to be extremely limited when billing for patients with multiple insurance policies. While more expensive than other billing software on the market, we have definitely noticed faster payments and cleaner claims going out the door. We are a very analytical company and this is the only billing software we've found that has decent reporting capabilities. Our company only uses the AdvMD's Practice Management software so I cannot speak to their EHR offerings.

Pros

\- Software has many built-in claim scrubbers, meaning more errors are caught before submission. Cleaner claims = faster payment. - Their clearinghouse (McKesson) is one of the largest in the country, which results in faster claim processing as well. - Reporting features, if you pay for them, are better than any other billing software we've experienced - Highly customizable and worthwhile if you put in the effort to tailor it to your practice

Cons

\- Setting up the system is a bit cumbersome. More features mean more time for our billing team to adjust to. - Their A/R module is confusing to use and has its fair share of problems - Because their system has so many customizable features, their support team is often unfamiliar with all aspects of the software.

### "Expensive and Complicated "

January 13, 2023

2.0

Pros

It does the job if you figure it all out and everyone else can figure it out

Cons

This was probably one of my least favourite software programs ever! It's complicated, way more complicated than it needs to be. There's a learning curve for sure. I didn't find the training to be helpful. We switched from this quickly.

### "Stay Away!"

May 3, 2017

3.0

Pros

Software itself has tremendous capabilities, advanced patient is nice, checking patient in thru ipad

Cons

Slow response time, lack of accountability. I have a 2 physician practice and AMD took over our billing 2 months ago. We have racked up 90 unsubmitted claims. The issue? They couldn't find the correct address to submit the claims. We "opened a case" 5 weeks ago and had no response for 5 weeks. Response? "We had trouble finding the right phone number." I have tried to escalate this issue several times with no phone call back. Today finally someone responded and admitted that they had not allocated resources to our account, so someone was only checking our account once a week (which I find hard to believe it was even that often. The trend seems to be...they make promises, talk a big game, don't follow thru. Don't anticipate any problems. Didn't get agreements set up for our DME either. They have caused a huge cash flow problem with our practice, and have not shown any indication that they are going to dedicate resources to fix. Implementation was a nightmare as well. They have "trainers" that can't tell you how to send orders or faxes thru the emr. I paid for templates to be built. In the end templates have wrong CPT codes built in, and "sorry we need more money to fix problems." I regret this nightmare of a company.

May 15, 2018

User friendly interface, that is easy to learn and navigate. With the different skill levels to computers, this program was excellent for all levels.

Cons

There are occasional data delays with secondary EHR programs. Although with a couple of tricks it can be quickly fixed.

From our first DEMO with Cameron it was easy going and easy to get the changing of EHR's complete!

Pros

Great costumer service! From the sales team down to the implementation team! Software does so many things i didn't think it could do but it does way more than any other software i found! We are all very happy with our choice! Really does make the office run better!

Cons

Building the templates takes a little getting used to but after you figure it out then it really is easy to build and do what you want!

### "All about the money"

July 14, 2020

2.0

Extremely poor. It is all about the lack of company support. They did not bill our claims properly. Numerus times and countless hours on the phone with no avail. I still am not sure if they were lying or just incompetent. Eventually we changed EMRs and moved all the charts to another billing service. We were able to capture tens of thousands of dollars in revenue that Advanced MD had miss billed and not billed. However, they continued to bill us for their services. Even after we cancelled our contract they sent us invoices claiming not to have record of the cancellation requests despite numerous discussions.. I would not trust anything they say.

Pros

easy to sign charts once you found them.

Cons

It is clunky, difficult to find things and chart properly.

Reason for choosing AdvancedMD EHR

It was a mistake.

### "My review of AdvancedMD"

June 2, 2017

2.0

As painful as starting a new system is, my office is seriously considering going with a different company.

Pros

Very programable EHR, that is very nice. I like the fact that I can change the size of the screen and letter is very helpful for data input.

Cons

Very poor customer support, they are friendly but don't seem to acknowledge there is a problem initially, it takes lots of effort to convince the staff there is a problem and at the end, they don't have a fix. The answer is the next upgrade may fix the problem. Not really compatible with Apple. Extra process to convert information to a real note. Word merge is complicated and very hard to program and it cost my office a couple of thousand dollars and a month to hire AdvancedMD staff to help program a few essential note for word merge so I can send out meaningful notes. This is very unexpected and painful process. Now I just limit myself to a few templates I have in hand. Good thing that I am a specialist and has a focused practice.

### "Mo' Money, Mo' Problems."

December 21, 2016

3.0

The PM software works as expected. We have saved about 35 work hours/week using AdvancedMD over our previous billing system. We hit so many bumps while working with the implementation team. They had a set script and any deviation led to multiple challenges. It took weeks to get questions answered. They didn't appear to take notes in meetings or put the follow-up actions on a to-do list. Despite what had been worked out with the sales team, the implementation team was unaware of our specific contract details. Hopefully, they've gotten the training or support they needed. We appealed to leadership in the sales department to get expert help, and to AdvancedMD's credit they recognized the problem and connected us with a fantastic person. PM Implementation took months longer than "normal" according to the schedule they provided us, and EHR implementation is ongoing a year after we signed the contract. I believe our implementation will succeed, however pyrrhic. It's been rough. I've fallen in love with paper in a way I couldn't have imagined twelve months ago.

Pros

I like the pricing options- many companies will not offer per claim pricing. Chrome support is slowly taking shape.

Cons

Software ostensibly supports flexible workflows, but in practice, each adjustment results in a spiraling accumulation of epicycle-esque inefficiencies.

### "nightmare experience"

April 24, 2018

1.0

Pros

I wish there was something positive about my experience with your company. the software is something that can be worked with thats the most I can say.

Cons

this is the worst of the worst billing company I have dealt with , I have had them for one year now and exiting them is like a nighmare to say the least , the sweet talk is only when the sales team is trying to sell you their services after that you wake up to find out that their customer service sucks . It takes numerous emails before anyone live talks to you , including the account managers that are assigned to your account. I would NEVER recommend advanced MD to anyone in the right state of mind .I would also like to let practice fusion know not to have them listed as preferred billing service on their platform.

### "DO NOT USE"

August 14, 2019

1.0

It has been really poor. Some of the staff have been friendly and somewhat helpful but then don't follow up with what they have promised. It is nearly impossible to run a healthcare practice from this software. Our billing company uses a dozen EHRs and has shared that their experience with this product is the same as mine and they will caution others away from it. It is not streamlined and easy to use for anyone.

Pros

Not really much of anything.

Cons

The reporting isn't transparent and they make you pay for basic reporting such as a report by patient showing insurance carrier and aging. The free reporting doesn't give you the whole picture and it is impossible to reconcile reports within the system. There are too many options without getting the basics right. Everything is an up-sell with this company as well.

### "Beats the Rest of Them"

July 11, 2017

4.0

Pros

We have been customers for over ten years. The PM portion of the program is very intuitive and user friendly. Learn all aspects of it, and you will run a better and provide improved patient care.

Cons

The customer support is better than most; now that is not a big pro because I have tried three other software programs and their "support" was smoke and mirrors. AMD has decent support; if you need help learning the billing section of AMD you will need to pay for private one-on-one. At least they offer that service. From what I have experienced, the others offer nothing aside from the promises given by salesman.

### "Great Program with intrigal functionality"

February 23, 2017

5.0

I have a Medical Billing Business and their CBO feature allows me to work several practices at the same time. I also like that if the practice is using another EHR software they can integrate with Advanced MD and the charges come over very smoothly to review. Overall Great Product.

Pros

Integration with other software. Payment posting and ERA claim reports. All very easy to use.

Cons

The only thing I don't like is the collections module, I do like it but I wish it was a little easier to use and didn't duplicate the message when you send it to someone else. I'm sure with a larger staff it would be useful but with my 4 I find it annoying. not enough to have me switch by far though.

### "Practice Setting versus Hospital Setting"

February 24, 2017

5.0

I am in the Psychiatric/Mental Health/Addictions Field and have been using AdvancedMD since 2014. The EHR side of the software is designed for a practice setting and is not able to accommodate medical providers that see patients strictly in a hospital setting. However, the software is wonderful for a practice setting or a hospital provider who chooses not to use the EHR. I have been in the medical billing field for 25 years+ and I must say that I would recommend this software. Compared to the other software companies that are currently marketing their products, AdvancedMD offers all of the bells and whistles.

Billing Module Claims Scrubber Clearinghouse Report Module

Cons

EHR (Hospital or Providers that do not see patients in an office setting)

### "Don't waste your money"

August 31, 2017

1.0

They have no conception of customer service. Hold times are generally over an hour on the phone, and 20-30 min for the chat line.

Pros

They have a good billing system, it is easy to use, well organized, and has many reports that you are able to run.

Cons

As an EHR they have no clue what they are doing. The system is hard to use, is expensive, the patient portal is completely non-functional. They say they are meaningful use qualified but it is only to a very limited number of measures not relating to specialties. The cost is outrageous for the functionality you can get better bang for your buck elsewhere.

### "Cannot recommend"

January 17, 2018

3.0

Pros

PM easy to use and EHR is customizable over all the software is set up in a easy to use and understand platform

Cons

notes are all held in EHR unless pulled into word doc that must be custom made by your practice and if you make any changes to this word doc then any notes prior to this change will not have those new changes. It is very confusing and time consuming! Also advancedmd is not reliable, they do not bill accurately, their fax system is a separate system that you have to go into and push out all the faxes that anyone in your office hit ''fax" on. I could go on and on with the cons of this system.

### "It’s not good "

August 9, 2019

The tec support are helpful but the software does not improve. Also the representative they assign to help you is useless

Pros

If you have a very basic practice it works

Cons

Everything is an add on and if you have anything more complicated then a PCP office the features are just not there. Constant problems with connect and development just does not build features to compensate for shortcomings
