Pros MySQL makes an adequate light weight database for websites and for collecting small amounts of data. Pros It is so simple to install use and integration with almost all programming languages. With this software, there are many helper tools also coming that make it super easy. Pros It was easy to install, lots of help available online when I needed to learn how to execute new commands, and it allowed me to focus on my coursework. Cons I did run into some security issues that I had to do quite a bit of research on. Overall user friendly program that does the job of accomplishing almost everything that one needs to do with a database Pros Starting off SQL was a challenge but engaging language to learn from a knowledgeable instructor as there are unique statements used to perform tasks such as searching and updating data on a database. At the end it makes sense if you have the knowledge in the usage of formulas. Cons Sometimes, I question if formulas/commands/statements used will generate the true result of data I realistically need from the search. It can get a bit chaotic having too many tabs testing out commands.
