### "Simple review of MySQL"

May 10, 2022

5.0

I use MySQL in numerous individual activities, similar to my computerized house project. It was a generally excellent decision, I'm content with this. Over the long haul you need to realize when to utilize specific information base programming, however when in doubt of thumb, MySQL totally can deal with anything with a few design and the cost is unbelievable.

Pros

Whenever one makes a table in MySQL, one has a choice to make an essential key which is one of a kind for each record in that table. That can then be utilized to look and reference the information in that table without any problem. One can likewise stamp different information sections as ordered and make them one of a kind, for example the email segment. That will forestall copy records. Furthermore, one can reference other tables' essential keys from one table - this is known as an unfamiliar key - taking into consideration coordinated, one-to-numerous and many-to-numerous connections. It is extremely simple to learn and utilize. It is extremely simple to introduce, arrange and make due. The grammar is extremely indistinguishable from similar we use sentences in English. Holding huge information in tables is able. It is without best data set with big business level elements.

Cons

First and greatest cons is that MySQL isn't reasonable for huge measure of information. It generally experienced despite everything experience issues performing complex joins. Data set might get debased under certain situations when critical choices is performed same time as different clients perform clumps of supplements/refreshes. With immense information, I had confronted information misfortune and inappropriate information recovery yet it is exceptionally uncommon and sensible.

### "Best Database Solutions"

March 20, 2020

5.0

Every web based application needs a good database to handle the management of its users, eCommerce solutions and website structure to keep everything running and out out all the data management solutions out there MySQL is the best! Installation and and implementation is as simple as a few clicks and the MySQL Interface allows for easy customization and control. The website you are reading this from uses MySQL to store all these information and keep tract of submissions and statistical information. Never had any issues and i use it in my everyday life daily.

Pros

I been using MySQL Since it's invention. I use MySQL to create user databases for user profiles, Order tracking and website user data management and it has done perfect on the website software i use such as WordPress. vBulletin and a range of other website based applications. I also use MySQL for my video/audio chat application to start users chat profiles.

Cons

Sometimes hen your importing large MySQL databases from one host to another it can be challenging. Sometimes the process breaks during upload or importing and you have to start all over again or the import doesn't fully import everything and there is website issues so keep that in mind. I found a way around this alot of times by just using big dump. Other then that over the years it has been getting better and better as of the latest version i must say that it is running so far flawlessly.

### "MySQL the best free database manager"

April 17, 2018

5.0

It allowed me to create my first relational database, with very little cost and scarce technological resources, which I linked to postgis and through an open source environment to mount a small gis that satisfied the requirements of the institution where I was part at that time

Pros

The tool is open source and allows to verify the fundamental questions such as the how and where of the data that has been loaded, as well as to develop new variants to the processes defined in the application, as a user you can manage the security systems and define the restrictions without much difficulty. MySQL operates in any operating system and has a very good management speed, in fact, I think it is the database manager with the best speed of response to the requested processes. Additionally, it has a very low data corruption index, which makes it a good option for data associated with the cloud. It is necessary to have a good definition of the relationships that link the different associated information tables, this will allow the behavior of the database within the manager to be excellent. It can be run on a computer with limited resources

Cons

It requires that you invest a good time in learning it, since the program is not intuitive, as the administrators of databases linked to companies. There are many processes that are not documented in detail or intended for people with little experience. Errors can be generated in processes linked to a multiple edition

### "At the top of relational databases"

July 31, 2019

5.0

Excellent for networked projects on any operating system, especially on the Internet. Also for the possibility of automating the backup of data.

Pros

Relational power, its diffusion among Providers because it is offered in free or very cheap prices, security in data processing and transaction, tools to manipulate data, import and export, various open source software with which it is possible manage its database like HeidiSQL and the more well-known phpMyAdmin usually available via browser in the control panels of websites. I emphasize in particular the use of MySQLWorkbench released by Oracle (owner of MySQL) a highly effective tool to remotely access all database functions remotely.

Cons

A certain intricacy that does not make the access to all his features easily understandable. But it is a professional software that requires a certain commitment to learn its functions, its character and a dose of detail to enjoy all its power.

### "Good for custom web-based DB backed implementations"

February 10, 2019

4.0

As Finance manager I led a project to develop a web-based system to share payroll receipts to thousands employees in our factory. For that purpose we built some kiosks with printers embedded (client-side) and a Linux server running a cloud platform. MySQL engine has been the best solution to run the cloud system and store thousands payroll records per week, and allows a secure encrypted access through kiosk terminals.

Pros

Most valuable features: - High compatibility with most web-based open-source platforms, like CMS, clouds, e-commerce, blogs. - State of the art of SQL language - Highly intuitive admin interface for almost every task - Can be host on cloud or on-premise in your local infrastructure

Cons

MySQL is not for everybody, to be used proficiently you need some knowledge about DB architecture, SQL syntax for queries, and admin skills to properly set privileges. Despite that, most of open-source platforms that use MySQL to store data include automatic setup in their install routines.

### "MySQL experience"

May 26, 2021

4.0

in context, my experience was so great. MySQL is compatible with all php and apache versions, so with my web pages or app is too easy to use, when I've used MySQL with php's frameworks like symfony or laravel I didn't have problems with drivers in Windows or Linux.

Pros

MySQL is perfect to use on traditional web app, it is the easiest database management system. You can make triggers in minutes, When I was working in a project, I needed to use MySQL in Gui and It was so easy, and when I work in my Pc with console is too easy and almost commands are similar to others dms.

Cons

I dislike that When I wanted to use a specific data type like UUID, I couldn't, because It wasn't a native data type. so I needed to use a procedure.

### "MySQL - A database server with amazing features"

August 7, 2019

4.0

As software developers, me and my colleagues have been using MySQL for years. I was never disappointed with using MySQL in my projects. It's highly reliable and user friendly, with no crashes experienced up to today. I recommend MySQL for anyone who wants to have a good database experience for free.

Pros

I have been using MySQL for few years since I first learned programming. MySQL server doesn't take much of my RAM and doesn't slow down my PC. The server can be protected with a password. MySQL is highly reliable and can be accessed easily with SQL Queries. I love the MySQL Workbench provided with MySQL which has an amazing user interface and consist of many interesting features. I can use it to generate ER diagrams, graphically view my data and manage the database. MySQL also providers connectors for different type of programming platforms. And after all, it's FREE!

Cons

Only problem I faced while using MySQL is the lack of proper documentation and technical support. But that's okay because I can find help from the community. And MySQL tends to slow down to some extent when I'm running large data pools.

### "Powerful and Flexible database engine "

December 21, 2017

4.0

Pros

Setup a SQL database with simple to use tools. MySQL workbench lets you configure the my.ini or my.cnf. Alternatively you can edit directly in the config file depending on your preference. Runs on Windows, Linux or Mac One server can run multiple database. Security options are comprehensive so where needed you can only allow certain options for certain users. Indexes can significantly improve the speed of returning results. Manual backups can be performed.

Cons

MySQL is a comprehensive tool if you know SQL. Writing simple queries is easy, writing complex queries working over multiple tables is complex although this is an issue of SQL not necessarily MySQL. Although it could autosuggest things better. Making to many indexes creation can lead to larger database files and logs. Automatic backup is a premium feature and not included with workbench as standard.

### "MySQL is one of the best database managers for beginners."

November 9, 2022

5.0

I feel like using this software, but with a few suggestions. For example, the dark mode is something I would like to see implemented. Overall it is complete software and very intuitive for beginners. I recommend it.

Pros

After having used this software for more than 1 year I consider MySQL to be much easier to use compared to similar applications, including its installation process. It is just a matter of configuring a few small things and it is ready to be used. I work with MySQL for PHP development and I like the simplicity it gives me to manage my databases without problems. It consumes very few system resources and that helps to work more fluidly. I like that I can import tables from Excel files directly into my database which saves a lot of time. If you are a beginner and you are starting in this world of development, MySQL is the option to choose.

Cons

I would like to make backups much simpler as SQL Server does. That includes a dark mode to take care of the view and have better comfort when working.

### "Can't go wrong with MySQL (for PHP or Java projects)"

December 16, 2019

4.0

So far, its been good. MySQL is an easy to use and configure Database, with a huge community and resources.

Pros

The infinite documentation for any OS/Language combination to develop with MySQL is astonishing. You just need to go to google and search your question regarding a problem or a best practice with MySQL and you will find it, for sure. Installation is a breeze in any OS I installed on. Just a few clicks and you are done. If you got lost (hardly), google it and have your answer.

Cons

You still need to work with plain text files for advanced configurations. Stability its been improved with each release, but hurts performance by little.

### "Can't live with it... can't live without it"

March 4, 2019

3.0

Pros

I use this software daily - I like the security of it (that you can limit IP use and also require login credentials). That's incredibly important for data companies, such as the one in which I work. SQL is also incredibly easy to learn - you can run a simple query after spending a couple of days familiarizing yourself with the syntax.

Cons

I'm finding that it's often easier to simply do the analysis in Excel over SQL. Part of this could be the messy nature of our tables that makes querying for information somewhat difficult. Biggest complaint has got to be the inability to name your tabs (even after you save). It seems like such a simple feature that it's shocking it doesn't exist. I also find that SQL crashes from time to time, sometimes without even querying a redundant or large set of data - I've had to reinstall it several times in the past two years due to this.

Pros

### "MySQL is the most popular database management system in the world "

MySQL has always been a stable feature rich and easy to use database manage system.

Pros

MysSQL has been around since forever, it's the most popular reliable database management system in the world. but after Oracle acquired Mysql the project was forked to MariaDB, I think MariaDB is more reliable because it's support by the open source community which insure the stability of the project in the long term.

Cons
