vManager Reviews
Pros
We are quickly able to see what we have active if there are any issues, the IP information, etc. The amount of information we have at our fingertips is fantastic.
What I am using the most currently is the asset management system baked into vManager. I really like the fact that most of my operational assets can be logged and recorded.
Great support and works a lot better than the other asset management tool we used in the past.
In summary, I really like this tool for its ease of use, elegant reporting capability, and clean graphing. The VCom team is also very helpful and always willing to assist, which is a great attribute.
Cons
That inventory if you have a lot does not get all the details listed unless someone from your internal company manually enters and keeps up. That is hard if you no dot have a team internal to assist.
VCom has offered no value here, outside of a renegotiation with RingCentral - which was another mess. Lets talk about the invoicing side of our service package now.
Next, the team started negotiating with carriers (which was comical because, once again, they refused to learn our markets).
Unfamiliar with our market area, and apparently refused to learn it (I still don't think they have all our branches identified after 2 years into this).
"vManager success"
Overall: The team at vCom have been nothing short of spectacular. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN], and the rest of the team I interacted with was fantastic. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the product. It is an absolute pleasure to work with the vCom team.
Pros: The dashboard is incredibly intuitive. What I am using the most currently is the asset management system baked into vManager. I really like the fact that most of my operational assets can be logged and recorded.
Cons: Nothing noteworthy that I can think of at the moment.
"Amazing Software"
Overall: Our company was using multiple spreadsheets for all our circuit inventory by all different people. There was not a centralized location housing all our Telecom circuits. vCom has solved that issue and we are working on updates to our inventory daily.
Pros: The most impactful is the company owns the software so if any updates or requested updates are brought up and make sense for the business they can make their own changes and updates. As for the ease of use if there is something I am not understanding there are plenty of resources offered to assist. Live assistance and webinars.
Cons: The only feature that is sometimes hard is the unmanaged inventory. That inventory if you have a lot does not get all the details listed unless someone from your internal company manually enters and keeps up. That is hard if you no dot have a team internal to assist.
"We want out."
Overall: the invoicing became so fouled up that multiple months of bills went unpaid (unbeknownst to us), resulting in phone/internet services being shut off at two of our busiest branches. So we had to take that back from vCom too. So let's run through the survey questions: What features were most impactful? None that, too-date, have had a positive impact. Is the product easy to use? Nope - I'm not even sure our folks try anymore. Was integration with existing business processes easy? Not at all; not even close. Are there features that could be improved? Practically everything we've tried should be improved. What business problems are you solving with vManager? Let's be honest here: vCom doesn't solve problems, it creates them.
Pros: There is nothing about this software, or vendor relationship that has worked even remotely close to right. This entire relationship has been a complete over-promise and never-deliver. Unfortunately, zero stars is not an option.
Cons: Where to start. When we signed with vCom, the objective was to engage a vendor to assist and oversee streamlining our various phone/fax lines, negotiate with carriers, and to a lesser degree, help manage invoicing. Our initial implementation team, led by [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN], was completely useless. Unfamiliar with our market area, and apparently refused to learn it (I still don't think they have all our branches identified after 2 years into this). Almost immediately, the vCom team tried to push all the heavy lifting back onto us: managing, identifying, testing phone lines was a nightmare - still is. Next, the team started negotiating with carriers (which was comical because, once again, they refused to learn our markets). It became apparent that vCom was only going to work with national carriers, and wasn't about to get into the weeds and negotiate with regional/local carriers (many of which had decent packages once WE followed up with them on our own). So we figured out real quick that we needed to remove vCom from the negotiating side, and focus them on the phone-line consolidation. Another mistake on our part. Two years into the project, and it still isn't done. vCom has offered no value here, outside of a renegotiation with RingCentral - which was another mess. Lets talk about the invoicing side of our service package now. When we allowed vCom to attempt to consolidate our billing through whatever outfit it works with (a company in New Jersey, I think), cont. below...
"The only tool you need to manage IT and telecom spend!"
Overall: I managed an 8M communications spend at a global Biotech for many years. We struggled immensely with first getting a handle on inventory, figuring out where we spent our money and on what, and consolidating to a better operational model. Without vManager, I would bet there would still be lines in service that were no longer in use the company would STILL be paying on! Not to mention we were able to replace our entire network, upgrade bandwidth and save over 2M YOY. It's not just the software, its also the entire vCom team you get with it!!
Pros: The ability to slice and dice your spend into whatever category senior leadership wants in order to provide a full spectrum of spend. It is easy to use, provides priceless insights into categories that often plague IT leadership when asked to break down costs, customer support is second to none!
Cons: I would really like to see the platform continue to expand further globally. It does some of it fantastic. I think there is more work to be done for organizations that need that competitive advantage to purchasing in global locations
"Great Centralized Resource"
Pros: I like the fact that I can easily monitor and approve orders. It allows me clear visibility on the status and allows me to add notes with my inquiries.
Cons: I'd like ordering a new line for a phone i have in hand to be enhanced. It is frequently mistaken as a new line and device order.
