Once you get a lot of different sessions or tracks and registration types, it either can't accommodate or becomes very complicated to manage. Like other tools of this nature, there is a bit of a generic feel to it but that is the compromise for a widely accepted overall, plug and play software. It is effective but there are other solutions that are similar or easier to use and offer more customization options. It is highly likely that we will replace this software with something else in the near future. Pros Eventbrite is fairly simple to use and has most the features you would want laid out so you can build an event registration form in steps. Once you set up your account(s) if you are accepting payments, it is straightforward to duplicate events to make new ones as long as they require similar details. There are custom fields you can create with logic behind them so different users may have different options depending on the access you choose for them. There are also ways to create discount codes or hidden fields with different levels of access. This is very useful when you have tired pricing at events and variable discounts to various groups. Cons A lot of the settings are in places that don't make much sense and you have to go to completely different sections of the admin section to find settings that you would think are closely related to each other. Some of the features are on by default and you might never notice them until after your event registration has launched. Even though most the settings are easy to change, you basically have to go over every tab, page and setting to be sure they are all correct before you launch your campaign. When you use the custom data fields and discount features, it isn't immediately clear how it all works and again, you need to go to a couple different pages to get them set up properly so it takes some trial and error. October 27, 2023 5.0 We used Eventbrite for a 2 day event that had previously taken place pre-pandemic. The old program was indeed old school & required a great deal more tedious intereaction. Evenbrite allowed us to streamline the way we handled the event from start to finish, from contacting vendors & advertisers, to rounding up data, to reaching out to prospective attendees--then allowed us to track those who did attend. I'll be using Eventbrite for our upcomig "Viva Paws Vegas" fundraiser too! Pros Eventbrite was quite simple to implement, easing the complex task of rounding up data, promoting our event & tallying the attendees, I only wish we had found & used it much sooner. It is user friendly to the point of being accessible to 'newbies' who balk at any 'computer thing' that can aid event organization! Cons I would blame only myself for the slow start of upgrading & transferring info from our previous program to Eventbrite, because I initially did not realize Eventbrite an all-encompassing program that let us jettison the old way of handling this. Best for private events and public events. Pros Event right allows you to clearly put your event in words and allows people to rsvp and obtain tickets without a hassle. I like the feature of reminders for events so no event is missed. January 4, 2023 5.0 Easy to implement, events are easy to manage, the dashboard is very straightforward. Pros I don't have the ability to process credit cards, so using a website for event registration is not an option. So, anytime I want to do a paid event, with tickets, I don't have to worry about setting up a dedicated web page, or ensuring that I have a payment gateway. However, I mostly do free events, so I don't use that option. But the same thing applies. I can easily schedule, promote and advertise an event without programming or speaking to our web developer. So that's the most straightforward and easiest method for me. Cons I know that there is a cost to everything. There's always a good threshold to (mathematically) figure out if it's worth paying a transaction fee plus a credit card processing fee, but the processing fees are high - even if they're aligned with credit card processors. Also, I would like it more if people could sign up for events without having to create an account, which is a frequent complaint from attendees. Pros Creating an event takes mere minutes. Through forms, I can find out the necessary information I need to from attendees and it's fairly simple to use. Cons The event interface is a bit clunky, as you are always prompted to provide a "Summary," which shows up in very small font in the event page, negating the reasoning for providing an eye-catching headline due to the small font size. Additionally, fees are high and often unclear to attendees and event administrators. Adding users is also an unwieldy process, from the 'legacy roles' to 'users' to 'roles,' all of which the practicalities are unclear. Resizing photos is not easy either. Review Source JK John K. Check in on the night of your event is very easy. Cons There is virtually no support if you have any questions. Exchanging tickets is very cumbersome. You can only exchange paid tickets, not comps. But when you try to exchange tickets it can only be done one ticket at a time, which if you have a group of say 5 people that can take 10 minutes to exchange over one at a time while your line piles up. Pros What I liked most about Eventbrite software is being able to easily process my purchases and then follow through with effective tracking and barcode scanning that worked every time necessary including transferring between friends and setting someone else as a pickup for "ticketed" item purchases. Cons What I liked least about Eventbrite software is the extra charges added to transactions that are above and beyond what many other processing software charges including "convenience fees" that seem to be backwards as customers are paying to do more of the work and make things more digital. This notifications makes it easier for me to plan in advance as to whether I may attend the events or not and also make use of early bird offers on the tickets. With the app I do not get to miss out important business events and recreational activities Cons Too much promotion of junk related events as opposed to recreational ones hence the need to refocus their target market. I also appreciate the ability to receive and process payments directly through Eventbrite, and I also love the logs and reports that can be generated by Eventbrite during all phases of the event, as well as after the event, which includes comprehensive stats and also collects data for you collected from attendees.
