“Overall frustration is with Accounting side and Financial Reporting side of the software which does not provide what we need. When we were sold ActiveNet we were told it had ALL THE FUNCTIONALITY of MaxGalaxy (that we were using) plus additional features etc....this has not been the case as specifically I can not get accurate accounting info , system does not generate invoices, receipts show lack of details etc..“

### "Active Net from YMCA program director "

October 23, 2018

5.0

It is great for Ymca use. We use it for membership, programs and childcare. I can use apps and online features to make it easy to check children in and out and parents love the ease of the website for online payments, registration and account viewing.

Pros

I love the easy interface. It is user friendly and intuitive. There are many functions and many ways to get what you need done.

Cons

There is no “shopping cart” to register for an activity and let them pay later. You can do a payment plan but not a save for later type.

### "Long-time User"

April 3, 2024

3.0

It is mixed. Updates are being made constantly and we sometimes discover new features that are a big improvement. However, since we have been using the software a long time, those enhancements are too late and we've since found workarounds.

Pros

Being able to customize the software to our specific needs is very helpful.

Cons

The financial reporting is difficult to understand and customize to produce the reports we need.

Reason for choosing ACTIVENet

This was before my time and there is no documentation explaining why ACTIVENet was chosen.

### "SPR Review"

April 9, 2024

4.0

Overall the product has a wide range of services and works well. There are needs that emerge with our changing customer base that would be great if we could more easily address (ie the signing up/sitting on multiple activities supply and demand issue).

Pros

We like the wide range of modules available in the system.

Cons

Reporting had to pay more to access more granular and/or information that needed to be scrubbed/manipulated. Some functions are broken and then reside with their Dev team. We continue to push items online, but need more configuration opportunities to do so.

### "We love ActiveNet!"

March 28, 2024

4.0

Pros

We love the flexibility of ActiveNet. It has many, many great features and allows us to really tailor build courses and private lessons that we need. The newer online customer interface allowing registrations online, the online calendar, and online donations are all very user friendly and attractive. We have pivoted toward directing people straight to ActiveNet online rather than maintaining too much of this information on our own website. We also rely on ActiveNet to process our teacher payroll and this integration is critical to us.

Cons

We love that ActiveNet is aggressively trying to improve, and we understand that they have to prioritize improving features that benefit the most users. However, there are some critical flaws in some of the software programming that really need addressing, particularly around Payroll and payment acceptance. These need to be modernized and a full review of the logic of the software and functionality.

### "Great software for Parks and Recreation administration!"

March 29, 2024

5.0

Overall, ActiveNet has been very helpful with how we run our programming on the administrative end of things! Highly recommend.

Pros

ActiveNet is relatively user friendly and easy to use once you get it set-up in a way that will work for your needs. I like how streamlined it is to cancel and refund a rental reservation or an activity registration. I also like how easy it is to produce registrations - you can customize based on what you want to include. Lots of options.

Cons

I don't like the templates for the reports - specifically for rosters and attendance sheets. I wish there was a way to customize them more so they wouldn't include information that is not relevant and so that we could stretch out the columns so email addresses were all on one line.

### "Active Net Software"

April 1, 2024

5.0

We have used this program for over 15 years and it has improved each year and it is simple to setup and use.

Pros

The best features is the easy tracking of recreation sign ups and processing the payments and this tracks the user photo and season of use.

Cons

Only when the system is down and not getting onto the website.

Reason for choosing ACTIVENet

It was at the time a good network solution then when web based

### "ACTIVENet was what we needed"

January 12, 2025

5.0

Pros

There are so many features to make registration, payment and membership streamlined for customers.

Cons

There is a learning curve in setup and training staff. With so many options, it took a bit to set up, but the support was great.

### "Terrible service"

May 7, 2024

2.0

Pros

Easy to use for the most part. From the end user standpoint it's a breeze.

Cons

The reports are very limiting. And the service is horrific. I can't tell you how many times we have reached out to customer service just to set up a credit card reader or to resolve an issue of a missing check and we get no response AT ALL or a very delayed response. In what world is that acceptable? Find another system, these folks are not where it's at.

### "ActiveNet for Parks and Recreation"

March 28, 2024

4.0

Pros

ActiveNet is a robust recreation management software. We primarily use this product for registration management, facility management and membership management.

Cons

There are some limitation to the software when using specific features. My main challenge is the limitations that FlexReg has compared to their standard Registration platform.

### "Active is great for parks and rec"

March 28, 2024

4.0

Pros

Enrollment is user friendly and it's easy to make changes once something has been submitted. Especially on rentals and enrollment.

Cons

Active can be a little finicky at times, while trying to look at reservations, oftentimes it tells you someone's already viewing it, but it's just you in there.

### "Reporting, reporting, reporting..."

April 1, 2024

4.0

Pros

The reporting options in ActiveNet are unending.

Cons

Some reports that are exports to Excel need work. Lots of unnecessary columns and text meant for one cell is exports to an additional cell in the row below (creating a whole extra row as well).

### "Active is Active!"

April 1, 2024

5.0

Pros

Cons

### "Lack of Features, Outdated Appearance and Poor Customer Service"

October 21, 2020

2.0

Customer Service Representatives were very difficult to understand with their heavy accents. The online help search was next to impossible to find the subject you needed.

Pros

I would not say that I had any "pros" with the software. Daily use was a struggle and very frustrating.

Cons

I found all of the functions and set up very difficult. The function to add any image/artwork was nearly impossible and very time consuming.

Reason for choosing ACTIVENet

I was not a part of the purchase, design. This product was purchased, contracted and implemented prior to my employment with this organization.

### "Activenet is useful but needs a facelift on the interface"

August 29, 2024

2.0

Average experience but feel it can be improved tremendously since it has so much utilization in large organizations.

Pros

It organizes the camps, classes and services in one location.

Cons

Outdated interface on the backend. Tens of thousands of ways to pull info which can be chaotic on referencing numbers for reporting.

### "Not responding, taking thousands of dollars from our business"

December 6, 2018

1.0

This company has breached their contract with our organization-- taking thousands of dollars of our revenue and will not respond to repeated inquiries and requests to correct the error. Do not trust this company!!!

Pros

I used to like the ease of use but they are now not responding to our repeated requests to correct their contract breach.

Cons

I used to like the ease of use but they are now not responding to our repeated requests to correct their contract breach.

IF THERE IS ANY OTHER PROGRAM THAT I FEEL NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED, IT IS THIS ONE. CAN BE GREAT BUT NEEDS WORK.

Cons

THIS PROGRAM HAS MANY GLITCHES AND GOES DOWN ALMOST EVERY TIME YOU USE IT WHICH MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SAVE INFORMATION STORED.

March 4, 2015

4.5

Pros

Active.net provides a great deal of comprehensive information that enables us to consider many different alternatives and to make a more informed final decision.

Cons

We like using Active.net and we use it a lot. I have not heard any complaints but I could poll our employees and ask what they like the least. I'm guessing - nothing.
