Our firm loves MyCase. It's user-friendly and packed with amazing features that have helped us achieve a 245% growth rate over the last year. I have been so impressed with MyCase that I became a certified MyCase consultant so I can help other firms experience these game-changing benefits.

Pros

My favorite features in MyCase are the case management, client management, document management, templates and automation.

Cons

I don't like that the invoices aren't more customizable and that the billing and invoicing aren't compatible with contingency firms. I also with MyCase would integrate with a VOIP phone system like Ring Central so we can automate some of our calling procedures.

### "I always brag about my case and practice management system."

Overall very positive. I was not happy with the sudden price increase but alas the system has proven invaluable. Easy to learn and very user friendly. Very flexible, especially the invoicing aspect of the system.

Pros

Comprehensive and intuitive platform for case management, billing and practice managment/financial analysis. Very easy to learn and use. Makes invoicing and timekeeping a breeze. Even has useful perks like document e-signing!

Cons

The cost has gone up significantly...but what hasn't - some of the features such as mycase desktop are useless - if they add to my costs I am not using them and so the company should focus on its core usefullness and not try to replace word or whatever they were trying to do with the internal editing platform.

This might work if you are a sole practitioner who is starting on day one; for anyone else who of changing over from another system, I suggest looking elsewhere and don’t waste your time.

Pros

The promise of an all-in-one system. It would have been convenient to ditch two subscriptions (Clio and QuickBooks) in favor of just one; however, that didn’t happen.

Cons

The inability to start using the software/site without having to wait for, literally, weeks. They require accounting “onboarding” which is two steps, not the one step they promise, and each appointment takes a week to schedule (they only do those on Tuesdays and Thursdays, according to their calendar system). So, I canceled without waiting but they continue to call me for some reason that I don’t care to hear.

### "MyCase is a great Program for any Law Firm"

My overall experience would be a 10 out of 10 experience. I can navigate the website very well, and I did so without any training. The website is user-friendly, which is a good feature because law practices are busy and sometimes formal training is very limited.

Pros

I love how easy it is to use. Specifically, when uploading documents. The fact that I can just drag documents into the portal and that they load so quickly is very efficient. I have never experienced any issues with the program. MyCase is very good at notifying us of scheduled updates, which makes planning around them effortless.

Cons

Probably the cost, but compared to other legal programs, I cannot honestly say it's a true con because there are similar programs that are even more expensive.

Overall I have had a good experience with Mycase. It has allowed me to operate and grow my law firm while ensuring a relatively painless experience for my clients through Mycase payments and the client portal.

Pros

Value for money. Originally it was extremely affordable and still had all the features I needed to run my firm more efficiently.

Cons

Mycase took a very long time rolling out integrations that Clio had for awhile. This included email integration, etc. I think they've definitely made up ground in that area but it unfortunately comes with a larger price tag.

Pretty good for the price. The customer service is usually available, the interface is agreeable and easy to use, the unlimited cloud storage is nice, and I like a lot of the app/integrations like filing straight from the MyCase file.

Pros

Quick response/implementation to new good ideas for the software. Customer support is pretty good, no complaints.

Cons

Sometimes software bugs can take a long time to repair. For example, for the longest time when I would print to PDF from MyCase the auto date feature from the MyCase document would show the date as one day ahead. It took quite awhile for MyCase to repair this bug (months) but they eventually fixed it.

Great. I love the system and feel like it makes organizing my clients and also keeping them updated and informed very easy and it allows me to have the files organized and make sure I stay on top of everything.

Pros

The interface is very user friendly and has so many options to organize a case and also maintain a great flow of work to make sure nothing falls through the cracks.

Cons

Sometimes the system glitches but it isn't significant to sway in the direction of not using it. For the most part they are resolve rather quickly.

Covers all the aspects I need in firm management and accounting for a reasonable price and offers in-depth resources and one-on-one assistance (with a person!).

Pros

As a sole practitioner, I need something affordable but that covers multiple facets: client management, case management, bookkeeping, Trust accounting, etc. MyCase handles all of those and is priced reasonably.

Cons

Just learning a new system. Every system handles things differently, and any switch is going to have a learning curve. Back to Pro - the learning resources are very helpful and you can get one-one-one support.

Overall, it has been a great experience. We have used free trials for other systems and came over from another platform. MyCase has done what we need at a reasonable price.

Pros

Total intergration with accounting, payment processing, messaging, and calendar fuctions. Having one spot to see the entire client file inclusive of payment history has worked well for us. Any issues with accounting add-on have had quick response times from customer support.

Cons

My only complaint is the renaming of the company to "8am." It is slightly annoying to see times in my inbox and have to remember that 8am is not a scheduled event but some notice from a case. Hoping they will rebrand to anything else.

### "Great all-in-one Practice Management System"

The Customer Support team is amazing. They will use Chat functions to help you solve problems in real-time. I have always received a great response time from them.

Pros

This practice management system has nearly all of the functionality you need to run a practice. It has billing, invoicing, accounting, case management, tasks, and is also a CRM. It also allows you to track your communications (texts and emails mainly) automatically. I have built all of my activities around MyCase.

Cons

There are a few things MyCase should consider. First, I think for a large pracitce there is good value for money, but the pricing model is fairly expensive for a solo practitioner. I would suggest a lower pricing tier for one-person practices. Second, it doesn't have client scheduling, which would be very beneficial. Otherwise, it's great.

Our firm's use of MyCase has been wonderful. The support is amazing. Always quick to figure out any issue we have had.

Pros

MyCase is a simple system. Easy to understand and use. Our firm is mostly older attorneys and none of us have had any issues being able to learn the system.

Cons

Price. I would love to see a quarterly billing and perhaps a reduced price for small firms. I believe it could be more affordable for the solo and small firm.

### "Australia salutes 8 am My CASE"

Nothing but positive things to say on the software. Being in Australia the maintenance (weekly) is a little frustrating as all the staff end up having to take a forced break we are paying for....

Pros

We run a business using this software that is not related to the law industry. We have managed to successfully adapt the software to our needs and would be lost without. I was a little hesitant when the changeover happened and the implementations on the site were adopted but they have improved something I did not believe needed improving. Love it!

Cons

As we are based in Australia, if we need direction on something that we can not find the answer to via the online help facility, due to the time differences we have to rely on emails.

Overall experience is more positive. I would say it does make managing a case much easier than not having MyCase.

Pros

I like how it helps organize the case file and keeps everything together, including communications. Clients are able to view their case records without asking for copies. I like the text message feature. In general, the time entries/billing are pretty simple, assuming you don't have to split the billing. Then it gets complicated, especially if you don't have the split billing feature. Even then, there are limitations.

Cons

I don't like that I am unable to send emails directly from MyCase. I have to download documents to send them out to clients or opposing parties. I don't like their split billing process. If I generate an invoice and split it between two people, and one person pays on the invoice and the other does not, I am not able to forward that invoice to the new invoice, and only bill the prior invoice to the one person who didn't pay. I don't enjoy having to reconcile Affirm payments manually, as the option is offered through a specific invoice. If someone applies for the loan, it should be applied automatically to the invoice they applied for. There are times the system glitches, and I am not able to work.

I have been using MyCase for 5 years now and am glad to have everything needed for cases in one place. Communication with clients is super easy. Billing is also easy to keep up with.

Pros

I like the features that are included and the organization of all of the different tabs. It is always easy for clients to navigate on their end as well so I am glad my office is able to provide this platform to them.

Cons

I wish that there was a feature that allows for new leads to be generated from previous contacts. I also wish that there were more tutorials provided to show how some features can be utilized to streamline processes.

verall, the 8 a.m. MyCase review felt well organized and easy to navigate. I liked how everything was in one place and the interface made reviewing tasks smooth. However, there were a few areas that could be improved, like task notifications and document template functions, to make the process even more efficient.

Pros

The 8 a.m. draft review was well structured and clear. The case details were presented in an organized way, the tone remained professional yet approachable, and the action points were concise , making next steps easy to follow. Best Cases Management program

Cons

While the review was solid overall, I felt the section on follow-up actions and next-step clarity could use more depth. A few items (such as document template issues and support response expectations) seemed under-addressed, which left some ambiguity about ownership and timing.

It is good for the money. I think they should work on some things a little bit better to make it great but it is still the better option out there.

Pros

I love the ease of use that we have with 8am Mycase. It is everything you need in one cloud based system. It has many great features you can use. To be able to do our invoicing out of Mycase is amazing. We love the fact that payments come in right after invoicing. Mycase usually responds quickly if you are having issues. We would highly recommend Mycase. It is great value for the money.

Cons

I liked the old setup on how tasks were done on the front page. I could see them better and less clicking. If they have an issue you are out of luck on working. It has been rare in the years that we have had Mycase but it does come up.

I recommend MyCase to every lawyer in private practice. I've incorporated it into CLEs that I have given about practice management. I think I'm it's biggest fan.

Pros

I have used MyCase for over ten years and I don't know how I got by without it. It helps me manage every aspect of my case management from billing, staying in touch with clients, and scheduling.

Cons

My complaints are extremely minor and very "inside baseball." There are a couple of formatting issues that I would change and a few reports that I would like to see added. I would like to see a column that allows cases to be sorted by date closed.

I love using it , client have little to no issues using it . It is a wonderful tool in the firm and they constantly bring more services integrated such as service of process.

Pros

I love how easy make the client communication . It easy to track billing hours and generate clear invoices to clients to provide transparency. It is very appreciate that customer service is always accessible in case of need and the video reference to learn all the things in mycase.

Cons

It is tricky that documents in firm documents cannot be search as other documents in cases themselves .

It has been amazing. Anytime I have a question I can either call or do the chat feature on the website and I receive immediate help. Not just a response, but an actual resolution.

Pros

This has been the best investment for my firm. It is easy to communicate with clients and potential clients. It is easy to update information and keep track of time spent on cases. I would highly recommend mycase to anyone in the legal field.

Cons

The only thing that I do not care for, is if a client changes their phone number, the communication previously had with them via text, does not stay connected to the client's file.

I have used ActionStep and Practice Panther in the past. Hands down, MyCase is my favorite practice management software as an estate planning attorney. No question!

Pros

MyCase is very intuitive—there really is no learning curve! It is very organized and user-friendly. Once you log in, it is ready to go and does everything that you expect it to do in a simple, easy, and understandable way. I am a huge fan!

Cons

I really wish that there was an app specifically designed for client portal access. I do not like that clients have to log into the main MyCase website. I think this is a bit clunky and unprofessional. Perhaps, I am missing something???

Good software, useful for law practice and high volume of cases. If I was in a full-time practice again, I would definitely use it!

Pros

It integrates fairly well with google calendar and manages case files, documents, due dates, checklists, etc. It was also a great tracker for billing overall by day/month, and you could input goals, etc. Also liked the feature to communicate with clients that was attached to their case

Cons

The cost was significantly increased while I was using it and the cost per user can be frustrating. Downloading everything for a backup was also not very intuitive or convenient. Also did not like how high the processing fees were for credit cards

I would like to be able to see ALL contacts/companies linked to a case in the top grey Case Overview section.
