Overall, my experience has been positive with good and quick feedback from customer support. This is a solid choice for managing legal case files.

Pros

MyCase is very user friendly and robust in its case management features. It has all of the features that I want to be able to keep track of client documents, communication, and billing. The clients can access their files using the client portal, and I can share files with the client or others as needed. Billing is also robust allowing for time tracking, invoice generting, direct billing, etc.

Cons

I have noticed an integration issue with Adobe. Occasionally the desktop app will crash when making advance manipulations of an adobe file and attempting to save it to MyCase via the desktop app.

Excellent. MyCase is cost-effective. Their customer support and training are well done. I can highly recommend it for any small law firm or expert witness practice.

Pros

I have been using MyCase to operate my expert witness practice. The UI is clean and easy to navigate. The document management is good, but a bit cumbersome. Time recording is excellent. The interface with QBO is beneficial. They offer great customer support and training.

Cons

Document management takes several steps. Drag and drop into folders would be better. Uploading documents for clients is not as powerful as direct user access.

Pros

It allows me to efficiently organize client files, track deadlines, and manage documents without having to switch between multiple systems.

Cons

Specifically, locating detailed information about payments, refunds, and transaction history is not always intuitive. I would find it extremely helpful if all payment activity, including invoices, payments received, refunds issued, and trust account transaction were clearly consolidated and easily accessible within each case file.

Excellent. I did not embrace the change when we started using this seven or eight years ago, but it was easy to learn and don't know how we functioned without it before we had it.

Pros

Ease of use, billing, client management, website all integrated one stop shopping. Also, it cuts down the number of phone calls for client status.

Cons

When interface changed, I preferred the old format. Once I got used to that version, the new one seems to not get as much information on the page as the old format.

MyCase has excellent customer service. They are responsive to suggestions for improvement of the site. MyCase has been a game changer for my solo practice.

Pros

Everything. Seriously, this is the best case management software I've used in 20+ years of private practice. MyCase makes is easy to capture my time and keep my files organized. It also makes sending bills and getting paid easy with LawPay integration, which allows the firm to collect and deposit funds into my Trust Account or Operating Account. MyCase has powerful features for intake as well, such as online intake forms and document automation. If you're not using MyCase you need to ask yourself "Why not?"

Cons

If there's anything to complain about, it's that MyCase is too comprehensive for one person to fully master. I feel pretty proficient with MyCase, but I feel like there's so much more that I am not utilizing just because I haven't made the time to do a deep dive on all of the features (like the Integration with MailChimp). I really don't have any complaints about the software or the support, which are both excellent.

MyCase's interface is 1,000 times better than Clio. I did not have a chance to try Practice Panther, but if memory serves me right, MyCase had a more robust platform with more features than Practice Panther.

I can't imagine using any other case management software for my law firm - it has been great and everything that I need.

Pros

MyCase helps me manage my law firm every day. I use it for all of my billing and payment, along with document management, including e signature for clients. if I ever have a problem, I can easily chat with customer service and they have always helped me with whatever issue I have.

Cons

I think that the invoice formatting could be improved. It is hard to see a running balance from invoice to invoice.

Overall, my experience has been a pleasant one. I find MyCase to be easier to navigate than our previous case management system, especially when it comes to the monthly billing.

Pros

MyCase is user friendly. It is easy to locate information using the "Search" option, and it is easy to enter information. I like the option to bill clients with the built-in share option and that clients can make payments directly through the link in their invoice. I also like the ability to add documents so that clients can view them simply by logging in. My Case is open to suggestions and quick to provide help when needed.

Cons

MyCase does not tell you provide you with any warning that they are implementing new changes or when updating the system.

Great overall. Wish the price didn't increase every single year. I find it much more user friendly than other practice management softwares that I've used.

Pros

Being able to keep track of emails, documents, notes, calls, and billing all within one app. I like the texting feature within the app. Customer service is usually fast with a response to help when running into issues.

Cons

I wish there was a way to send a Global message but only to clients with a specific practice area. The add-in for outlook doesn't work with the new Outlook so hopefully that will be fixed soon.

I have used MyCase for 6 years. It allows me to maintain a robust paperless practice, manage 200+ files at any given time, has a reporting scheme that (when admins are trained to use custom fields properly) can yield valuable conclusions, and allows me to make data-driven decisions for acquiring new cases.

Pros

The task management system paired with the workflows are likely my favorite features of MyCase. As a litigation-oriented firm, I am able to ensure that every step of litigation is accounted for and that the "system" overarchingly is working.

Cons

There is no dark theme for the new UI. While I would like to try the new UI, without a dark theme, it is too bright and eye-straining. Otherwise, I am not able to apply workflows to lead. This would be useful in my practice as I perform the same steps for all intakes.

### "Quite Pleased with MyCase Overall"

Overall, I have been quite pleased with MyCase, which we have used at our law firm for ten years. It does help us tremendously. However, I am not always pleased with the changes MyCase makes, because they are not always improvements, and because they force our firm to take extra time to figure out how things now work. I like some the integrations they offer, such as with InfoTrack, which automatically adds filing expenses to cases. However, to the extent possible, I'd like to see more of the technical glitches worked out for a more seamless, efficient experience.

Pros

The best feature of MyCase is what drew me to this case management software initially: it gives users a brilliant way to record time entries and expenses. These time entries and expenses are then used to generate professional invoices.

Cons

I have not been terribly happy with the changes that MyCase has been making lately. They are charging higher fees for payments of invoices by clients now through LawPay. Also, they have recently updated the User Interface and I like the older UI better, for various reasons. Sometimes the changes they make are not improvements.

Pros

Our small firm practice improved dramatically when we started using this. Our communication about cases and ability to see overall workflow improved. Our time keeping became easier and more precise, and invoices became both easier to create and more professional looking.

It would be nice if the document management feature was easier to use; you can store documents but manipulating them is difficult.

It is moving more to add on apps. The add on apps can be glitchy and expensive. The new owners seem to be changing the platform to make it less user friendly.

Pros

I love that it is a one stop shop for myself and for my clients. The ability to communicate in real time, upload and download documents, it's all great. Clients love having that direct link to us. It helps keep me and the case organized.

Cons

I do not like that we can't save a draft message. I also don't like that payments to prior invoices don't show up in any history that you can put on a current invoice. I do not like that you can't modify the home screen to include the items you use the most and disregard those you don't

Above average to excellent for most features. I do not use MyCase to the fullest extent. Customer service has been great. My main concern going forwar is that the prices will increase which is a burden for solo practitioners.

Pros

It is a full case management program that makes sense economically for a solo practitioner, organizes my time and billing and easily creates invoices, and I really like the daily and weekly reports. I also like the tracking feature of the types of cases I am opening so I can easily see how many active cases I have, and in what practice areas.

Cons

editing client information - it is counter-intuitive. I have to navigate through several menu options before I can figure it out and get to where I need to be.

The changes in appearance. Just when we get used to things being in certain locations, it changes. Also, the billing part is a little confusing.

Excellent product that my firm has been using since 2019. I have taken meetings with ALL competitors and have never found a feature or reason to switch.

Pros

Can see everything on one screen, simple and easy on the eyes. New UI is great to use. Storage for documents is seemingly unlimited.

Cons

Searchability outside of names can be difficult. Limited "recents" in the search drop down. Lacks ability to change UI color for easier delineation.

This has been an excellent choice for our small insurance defense firm. Ease of use is important to me and the program is very intuitive.

Intuitive, easy to use, many features, new features frequently added, ability to handle electronic billing.

Cons

We have been unable to use the email synch feature, despite getting IT involved. Apparently the issue is with our email system.
