Pros

Overall, Practice Pro offers an array of documentation, scheduling, billing, etc. options all in one place. It is easy to find all relevant information and documentation about a given patient/client once you figure out how to navigate the system.

Cons

Overall, PracticePro is a too busy and difficult to navigate. There are too many document options, some of which convey the same information, so it should be pared down to be simpler and easier to find. The reports don't quite fit how I would like to convey evaluation information about clients/patients, so I end up using my own report templates.

My overall experience with Practice Pro has been great. I do miss the opportunity to speak to someone directly and promptly when an issue arrises. The put in a ticket and email back is often frustrating. I have requested 2 times to speak to someone about information on upgrading to patient portal features and possible schedule reminders and things. I have never received a call back about this inquiry.

Pros

Practice Pro has been overall a wonderful product. The ease of use for our therapists is great for documentation. The scheduling and billing capabilities are great.

Cons

The inability to allow therapists to view the schedule calendar without exposing patient billing, payment responsibility, and other financial information is a downside to this product. It would be helpful for therapists to view their day along with other therapists in order to see if patients have multiple disciplines and to verify the length of time an appointment is scheduled for. Now we have to do work arounds for therapists to view this information. It would also be helpful if therapists could view patient contact information without having financial information access. Another challenge we have is with scheduling multiple visits. The series feature has been helpful but is not always working correctly or causes appointment deleting. Our pediatric population often sees patients long term. Adding the upcoming schedule for future weeks is extremely time consuming and I believe features could be added to help with this process. It would also be beneficial to have a "master appointment time" ability because there is no way to tell if a patient was rescheduled for an alternative time that week if it is their regular schedule or a short term change. This is becoming more problematic as our practice grows.

We require a system that can process both professional and institutional claims. Many competitors do not have this capability or were more geared and priced for hospital size when capable of institutional claims.

Excellent experience with excellent customer service. Great onboarding experience as well.

Pros

User-friendly, intuitive system. Love the SOAP notes with exercise flowsheet on the same webpage so you don't have to open a new tab and toggle in between; love the ability to create your own templates for evaluations and SOAP notes; also love that the EMR works for different disciplines since we offer physical therapy, personal training, and massage therapy services - everyone can be on the same system! Also, love how it integrates with Physiotec for a completely online HEP services that you can email or text the HEP directly from the software without having to open another tab or switch between software systems.

Cons

I don't like how the patient portal is not user friendly for patients. I also wish that patients could schedule online and that the scheduling synced with Google calendar.

Reason for choosing Practice Pro

User friendly; cost effective; excellent KPI reporting; integration with billing; integration with Physiotec for HEP; no clicking before tabs. I can finish a SOAP note in 5 minutes compared to 15-20 minutes in WebPT.

WebPT took too long and I had to have too many tabs open to switch between evaluation, SOAP note, and exercise flow sheet. The integration with Therabill was terrible too because two log-ins were needed. This was changed a few months before I left but WebPT was very laborious. When I went through the demo with PT Practice Pro, I knew it would be a better fit for me. In addition, WebPT charged for every add-on whereas PT Practice Pro bundled their features so it was a lot more cost effective for a growing clinic.

### "PracticePro is a great product in many ways, a few areas need some attention."

Our providers can get the most work done and get back to patient care thanks to the documentation system. Our billing process and claims management are easy thanks to the financial side of the product, as well as the robust reports related to claims and billing which allow us to forecast and budget. Much of the insurance and authorization system is very easy to navigate and makes it much easier to manage patient cases. The intake system, scheduler (specifically the waiting list), and some of the ways that data is accessible in the product need work. Some of the reports simply do not work or are not adjustable. What has been disappointing is the lack of support for some of the feature and enhancement requests we have made. While this is understandable considering the size of the development team at PracticePro, it can be frustrating.

Pros

The billing/claims system is great, as is the documentation system for daily notes, evaluations, and progress reports.

Cons

The intake system, waiting list, and multi-location arrangement need some attention.

I like the system but it's not financially worthwhile for smaller practices. I consider making a change from this EMR because of the excessive cost and fees. It's a more robust system than many out there but the patient portal is clunky and needs more features. Customer service is quick to respond when issues arise.

Pros

The interface is perhaps more complicated than other EMR systems and you need ongoing training to maximize the features available - many that you won't use and others that take a long time to customize, however the reports and templates are very helpful. Customer service is responsive.

Cons

Practice Pro is one of the most expensive EMR systems when you add up the annual fees, $1 per visit charges plus $ per claim, $ per location. The system can be overwhelming and it requires extensive staff training. The patient portal needs updating to accommodate for annual forms, uploading of patient insurance directly into the system.

Pros

I like the integrated home exercise programs and the ability to document and produce the program with ease.

Cons

I wish there was an easier way to manage special reports from the dashboard. Perhaps see when they have been initiated to prevent oversite.

Overall it is great and my favorite system that I've used.

Pros

Customization is my most liked part of Practice Pro. It saves us a lot of time to already have templates ready.

Cons

I wish there was a better response from customer service. They took a very specific billing provider feature a few years ago and it makes it very difficult for us PTAs to document correctly because it doesn't display which DPT we're billing under. We've asked for this to be changed for YEARS and it never gets fixed. Its created more denials from insurance and costs us money.

Pros

The daily SOAP notes and evaluation notes are the easiest that I’ve ever used. I can record information in a variety of ways that makes it easy for multiple settings and types of patients.

Cons

There are several redundancies or naming conventions that appear throughout the program and make it confusing and time consuming to navigate to what I’m looking for. For example, patient communications AND returning patient visits are both called “follow ups”, which has been confusing on multiple occasions. There are also multiple different “patient information” buttons that navigate to different screens. It seems like different teams have developed these features and they don’t communicate well.

Practice Pro is a solid EMR choice. User friendly, large feature set to help workflow, and customizable. The support team is great and very responsive.

Pros

We moved to Practice Pro about 18 months ago. The transition was difficult, but I expected that and appreciated large amount of effort the practice pro team put into making the process as smooth as possible. They have a very nice onboarding program. The EMR itself filled many of the shortfalls we had in our old EMR. Virtually everything automatically saves, there is a wide set of features and reports (tons of reports). The support team works hard to understand your process needs and help find workflows in practice pro that work for you.

Cons

It's not the cheapest software, especially if you need customization, but you get what you pay for.

We have used Practice Pro since 2017 and are overall pretty happy with it.

Pros

I like that Practice Pro is completely cloud based, that was one of the main things we were looking for in a new program. Customer support is pretty fast to get a hold of and get resolution on problems or concerns, and it is rarely"down" entirely like our other system was fairly frequently.

Cons

I dislike that for features that are common now, it is always an extra fee. It's nice if you want to keep it bare bones and save money to skip features (like we did when we were smaller) but now that we have grown, it would be nice if it was all included in one fee. I also dislike that for things like auto eligibility checks, I still have to contract with a third party. I would like it to all be included in the EMR.

Overall it has helped our front desk be more efficient. Charge review and billing processes are great. Scheduling is easier than ever with so many built in tools from the scheduler than can help reduce potential mistakes or missed patients. EMR is great.

Pros

What I like most is that it is an all in one EMR and Billing. It is a very powerful software and has a lot of great reports. If understood correctly, it will make your practice processes very efficient.

Cons

There are some reports I wish could be added. For example, there isn't an easy way to run a report on past due patient balances that need to be sent to collections. There are so many reports and functions that it is very difficult to learn how to do everything correctly. The learning curve was greater with it due to how much you can do.

Cons

Building provider schedules is not as convenient as our last EMR but this is the ONLY area that is true.

We had Practice Pro when I came to work for my current practice- unfortunately the owner decided to switch to a new EMR and I fins myself constantly saying - well when we had Practice Pro we could do this but our new system doesn't allow for it.

Software is easy to use and team seems willing to make updates/ listen to user feedback

Cons

The grass is always greener. Things that seemed big at the time seem small in retrospect.

Pros

I use the "dashboard" to plan/execute my workday. It takes the thinking out of which tasks you need to accomplish, just check your dashboard for the day and work until everything is marked "complete". The customer service is very responsive. The Practice Pro team responds quickly to custom inquiries.

Cons

The only thing I don't like is when multiple people are assigned to a single follow-up on the dashboard, if one of the members marks it "complete" it removes the follow up from everyone's dashboard. The solution is just to make sure everyone on your team knows to remove themselves from the "subscribers" or "assigned to" fields of the follow up when they no longer need to see it.

The best feature is the editable copy forward, listing of the appointments of a day and use of dashboard to see number of documents to complete and submission of docs from that page.

Pros

The copy forward feature; that allows you to change the critical data and specifics without re-writing all portions of the note.

Cons

The software could compact several features ( ie. once signed in) 1. the system should check off the appointment date and time, and any minutes late; after the arrival button is activated. 2. Clinicians must factor and deduct time which should be done automatically completed w/the digital system. 3. Clinicians must be their own check & balance, which should be a systems features (ie. when note is complete there's a color change from yellow, blue to green, stating 30% complete w/ note of what's needed.

We have been very please with the product. We have compared it to other EMRs and are happy to stay with PracticePro.

Pros

Very thorough, what we needed at the time of upgrade. It is easily understood

Cons

Integration was an easy process. there are a couple of billing and claims item that we wish were different. For instance, waiting to allocate pt payments until insurance addresses the DOS seems to not make clear sense to our office. Changing/Deleting claims and changing payments after entering is a bit cumbersome.

Practice Pro has overall been an easy EMR to work with in my 2 years as a Physical Therapist. I know where everything is located and haven't had issues other than the occasional crash of the system.

Pros

I like that Practice Pro is fairly easy to navigate and is straight forward. The color coding for scheduling is very helpful in knowing where a patient is at in their level of care.

Cons

I don't like that sometimes Practice Pro crashes, especially after being updated. I also like that I can access from both my computer and phone.

I really like the ease of scheduling, being able to make reoccurring appointments appear on my schedule and easily having access to my notes.

Cons

There are a lot of functions that it does that I have no idea about or there are not a lot of trainings to help with. I would love it to be easier to see billing and not have 5 different ways to access different information. I wish it was all in one place.

I use practice or every day at work and has been very easy to get use to it. The only changes that I don’t lie is that now the goals that are part of a report are in a different tab outside the report itself.

Pros

Easy access, easy to use. Practice pro respond quickly with any issue. Easy to move from place to place.

Not too easy to transfer a note from other cases

Pros

The Scheduler feature is adequate. I like that I can easily access my notes that are no signed.

Cons

Having to click on many, many tabs is always cumbersome and makes even short notes feel like they take forever. The server is down frequently and has on several occasions deleted notes.
