The platform is easy to use and will save you time on invoicing. They also have a variety of resources to learn more about the platform and tailor it to your needs. Pros Making the switch to Coupa cut the time I spent on individual invoices in half. The process is streamlined and very intuitive. Cons The hardest aspect of Coupa is convincing my vendors to buy in to signing up for it. It is not a difficult process but can be daunting when the vendors are not familiar with Coupa. Customer Service Administrator Packaging and Containers Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great for controlling spend" January 24, 2026 4.0 Honestly, my feelings on Coupa are a bit of a mixed bag, but mostly positive in the end. We moved from a messy system of emails and spreadsheets, so having everything in one place is a huge relief. I finally know who is spending what before the bill actually arrives, which makes my job way easier. That said, getting there wasn't fun. The implementation took longer than we expected, and getting our non-techy staff to actually use it correctly was a struggle. It’s not something you "pick up" in an afternoon. But now that we are over the hump, I can’t imagine going back to the old way. It works, but you have to be patient with it. Pros The "Amazon-like" feel. For the average employee buying office supplies or laptops, it’s actually pretty easy. They search for what they need and click buy. It stops them from going rogue and buying stuff from random websites. The Mobile App, a lifesaver for expenses. Being able to snap a photo of a receipt at dinner and toss the paper away immediately is the best feature. Invoicing. I love that a vendor literally cannot get paid unless they have a matching PO. It forces everyone to follow the rules. Cons Suppliers complaints.The "Coupa Supplier Portal" is great for us, but annoying for them to log in just to submit an invoice. I enjoyed totally. The way it integrates with everything even with AI Pros I used coupon, basically for invoice processing and expense management. It was really good the way it raises requisitions and create them into purchase orders having the approval for right, and it’s integration with that Netsuite was perfect. From blank submissions being recieved which were completed at user end, to questionaires mysteriously triplicating questions. Pros Nothing, its the wort system i have ever used to date. Cons Doesnt work properly. Multiple errors mean it is impossible to oboard. Suppliers laos have to pay to get telephone support when errors occur. Pros Being able to manage more than one vendor/customer within the system. Cons Not having a more updated Courier list for shipment tracking. We use TForce Freight and Old Dominion Freight frequently but they are not options on the drop down list. So, we get a lot of disputed invoices due to not having proof of delivery. Pros I really don't like anything about Coupa. I am not a direct customer - I am a supplier who has had to interact with my customer's system infrequently over the years. Cons I find Coupa to be a poorly designed product, difficult to use, lacking many basic features, and which adds layers of complexity to minor workflows. The different areas are very self explanatory and it is easy to navigate through. Cons Repetitiveness of entering information or submitting something. After entering all the information on one page it makes you re-approve on the next page. When adding another line to the items in cart, it makes you completely re-enter all information which is frustrating when the items are linked but may just be different in price. Frequent releases and a good portal for customer suggestions and knowledge forums. Handles complex workflows and hierarchies relatively well. Cons Their "super" search bar is terrible. Like, the worst search bar I've ever used. No matter how well we tagged items, it would never find them. It was basically useless. Thankfully our users primarily use punch-out catalog. While the product provides a good value to it's primary functionality, the product lacks a level of polish to it. The navigation and processes to do specific steps feel clunky and not very smooth. I've looked for things only to ask Accounting where something is at because I simply can't find what I'm looking for. While overall an ok to good piece of software there are pieces of it that make it time consuming to use and because of that I only use it when I absolutely have to. Pros Pros of Coupa: - Allows process and systems to work through large purchases - Helps better keep track of the purchases needed for the company (whether they be large or small) - Ties the purchases to a PO for Accounting and Finance teams to keep track of. Cons Cons of Coupa: - The usability of the product isn't polished. You can't find a submitted request easily to see who has the next step in the approval process - It's difficult to search for created items in Coupa - You end up searching for large amounts of time to do things in the product you need to complete but are not quite sure where those things you need to do are at.
