Cons Occasionally there would be minor glitches in the system,that would cause my “bank” to disconnect and I’d have to reconnect, which wasn’t too difficult just a little frustrating. We love being able to work with them and contact our salesperson for any issues or ideas. Pros Patriot value for money is our top benefit. They also have very responsive support and have listened to our suggestions. They also have a great time tracking system that flows right over to run payroll and each manager can have access. Cons Not being able to run bonuses without taxes withheld is our biggest dislike. Some employers like to give employees the most possible but it is a very manual process. Pros I put off purchasing any accounting software because my first experience with Intuit was expensive, failed customer support, never was able to get started and they did not refund the cost even when their system did not work for me. But, I tried Patriot and was able to get started with very little help needed, step-by-step assistance, excellent follow up support and super affordable. This makes payroll a breeze and taxes are taken care of. I save soooo much time! Cons That I did not learn about them earlier. It was a commercial on Fox. I think marketing needs to be greater. I like that they have videos that show you how to do things if you need help without having to call every time. Cons Nothing . I do not have any complaints at this time. I absolutely love Patriot Payroll. It is user friendly; the price is more than competitive, and the startup discount and referral rewards are great. The reporting features and customer service are top notch. There is a requirement to run payroll four business days ahead of time but there is also an option to prefund payroll to shorten that process time. I have no complaints about Patriot and will continue to recommend them to all my clients. Pros The value and the ease of use. Quick response from customer service. The new client and referral discounts are a wonderful bonus. I love the reporting features. Cons The requirement to process payroll four days ahead of time is a little inconvenient but I do know there is an option to prefund. Also, when you are talking to support, they are kind and patient and do not make you feel like you are wasting their time or that you are bothering them. I can’t stress this enough. Patriot is very informative and easy to navigate. It would have to be simple for me to do it. I received an IRS letter one year and called Patriot and it was taken care of. It was a perfect fit for us, and we immediately implemented it in 2017, and haven't changed or even considered changing since then, even through our renewed growth. Pros The value of the program and ease of processing payroll for our small company. It provides very detailed reports, and is very easy to navigate the system. Cons Haven't found anything yet! Pros I like how easy and fast it is to make entries and keep track of sales and expenses. When I got started with it, I needed a system to send recurring invoices, and not all accounting programs could do that. Cons Hard to change things if I make a mistake. Arbitrary limit on length of reference when recording payments. Some customers have non-numeric check numbers or very long check numbers. Patriot freaks out with this and the error message is not really helpful - we just know from experience what is happening. The program is super easy to use and provides 100% accuracy in reporting. Pros Patriots software is user friendly and super easy to implement, easy to use and easy to integrate with employee benefits. The value as compared to other payroll packages and/or services is very substantial. I run payroll for about 20% of what other services would cost. This is a no-brainer if you want to be efficient and effective. Cons The 1099 reporting mechanism isn't as smooth as the W-2 reporting. The program needs to be able to print pro-forma 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC without having to use a Preprinted Form. Entering payroll is very easy, we use the time card feature and that makes it even easier. Cons We pay our own taxes, I wish there were more reports for filling out state tax forms like unemployment and paid family/medical leave. Needing to pull more than onw report to accomplish filing some of these returns is a pain in the butt. If I make a mistake, support can always walk me through fixing it. Pros Taking out payroll from QuickBooks to Patriot was the ABSOLUTE best thing we could have ever done. The cost was considerably lower, and they don't hassle us with additional fees for every little thing. AND they process our tax deposits! That's the best part of all. The customer support is superior to any other support I've ever used. The techs are kind, patient, and walk you through anything and everything. Running payroll is the easiest thing, takes no time at all. We've been Patriot client for over a year now and have not run into any issues or glitches at all. It's smooth to use and I can run payroll from anywhere. My phone, at home or just at my desk. I will always give it a 5-star review! The few times I have had to contact support, they were quick and efficient and very friendly. We like that employees can electronically receive their W-2s. Running weekly payroll is quick and easy. One less thing for me to do. Cons Wish the vacation accrual time worked for me, but there doesn't appear to be a way to set a date that hours stop accruing. The only option is to set an accrual max limit which didn't work because people use their accrued time and therefore accrued time never reached the max. I have been greatly impressed with them since signing on -- their customer support is top notch: super responsive, the FAQs are very helpful, even their chatbot is worth using. I like the modern easy to use interface, and the fact that even the more niche deductions I need with my S-Corp are covered cleanly by the software. Cons I have no complaints about Patriot.
