It is inexpensive, but exactly what you will need to keep your payroll process accurate. Also, it is so easy to use with great support. Cons can't think of anything at the moment. Our employees love the fact that they do not need to take a check to the bank and personally deposit into their accounts Pros The direct deposit and employee payroll tracking feature. Was doing paper checks prior so the amount of time saved has been critical to our business. Cons For what we use Patriot for, I cannot say I dislike anything about it. Tha software is like Payroll for dummies. Ease and very affordable. Pros Patriot has a very simple approach for the layman. If you don't understand they guide you and with patience and ease to get the job done. I highly recommend the payroll software. Cons I've only used Patriot for just over a month. So far so good. Loved the live book keeping but when I called the payroll dept to find out what they had to offer they started the payroll when I told them not to because I wasn't sure if our EIN was going to change because we applied for Sub S corporation status. When I called and informed them that i did not approve of the start for the payroll and that i wanted a refund they never refunded the monies. I had the name of the person that helped me and the date and time. To no avail no refund. So I lost trust in them and in the end they lost a customer. I am able to process my payroll easily and efficiently. I haven't needed external assistance because the system is so user-friendly that I am able to handle all of my needs on my own. Pros Patriot Software Payroll is very easy to use! It is very simple to make any adjustments to the employee files and also to print off any necessary reports. I can always find what I am looking for! Cons The only feature that I find frustrating, is when I am inputting the information for payroll and then I need to back out of the screen to update an employee file for whatever reason and all of my information that I have entered has to be deleted. It would be better if the information was able to be saved and then edited later, if needed. It is frustrating when you need to make one small change to one employee file and therefore you lose ALL of the input you put in for the other employees and have to re-enter all of the information. October 10, 2022 5.0 Pros Patriot Payroll was exactly what I was looking for to pay household caregivers. It allowed me to pay the employees per law. It was easy to set up. I can set up weekly payroll for my employees in just minutes. If I needed help with something I could call them, take to a person, and they would walk me through it. It also allows flexibility, if I was late entering weekly hours, it gave me flexibility. Also, the price was right. Cons I started looking for payroll services at the beginning of 2022. This coincided with the insurrection of the Capital in Washington DC, and the Patriot name was an ugly term at the time. I have overcome this. Reason for choosing Patriot Payroll I did look at many other online payroll processing systems, as well as local companies. I elected Patriot because it was affordable, which was necessary as we do not generate income. Review Source Chase S. President Computer Software Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Simplifies the job of payroll" January 5, 2021 5.0 Always nic to have the best solution be the cheapest one out there for my business. Pros The software works almost effortlessly. When you do have special issues (remember, governments are involved in how this has to work, and things change), their customer service NEVER EVER treats your problem offhandedly. They are ALWAYS courteous, and so far, have ALWAYS solved any problem I have had. Plus, they are smart. Cons The menu system should be customizable. I may need special functions quarterly or yearly, but that's quite rare considering my weekly access. I should be able to enable a company menu, that offers only the things I do. When I do a new function, I would be given the option to add it to my custom menu or not. Full menu should always be viewable via a single obvious click. As a small non-profit, it was refreshing to find a product/company with an option to accommodate our budget. Pros The ease of running payroll and the direct deposit feature are customer-centric. It makes the entire payroll process unintimidating and streamlined. The employee portal was stress free for our team. The customer service team knows their product and works to ensure they resolve your concerns on the first call. Cons Having access to customer service outside of the current hours would be my only complaint about Patriot. It is very intuitive so I have not needed a user manual or anything like that. The few times I have had a question I contacted tech support and they were very helpful and responsive. Cons I wish time-tracking was included for free with the Patriot Payroll Software fee. Reason for choosing Patriot Payroll Patriot was less expensive and has proven to be easy to use. The customer service is awesome, the software is easy to use, and the price is just the best. Pros I love everything about this. 1) The ease, it is so easy to use 2) the customer service team is always so helpful and listens to suggestions and has implemented suggestions we have made 3) the Price, we came from Intuit and the price savings was crazy amazing 4) They process all payroll forms, Intuit would not process our local LST returns, but Patriot does, they do them all! Cons The few items I would like to see changed are mainly just with check printing. It would be nice to be able to print DD stubs with a layout that looks like a laser check so that they could be folded and put into double window envelopes like the checks are. The second thing would be to be able the change the stub options on checks. Currently, laser checks take up both stubs on a check to make one pay stub. It would be nice if you could have an option that it all fit on just one of the check stubs, and then repeats again on the second stub for the employer's copy. January 14, 2021 5.0 We are a very small company and paying a large monthly fee for payroll did not make sense. Their pricing fit in perfectly with our needs. Pros The software is easy to set up and use. The pricing is very fair and affordable. The Customer Service is beyond compare. There are several options for contacting them and I have always spoken to a person who was very knowledgeable. You don't get the feeling that they are reading from a script card. They know what you need and easily convey the solution to any problem you might be having. Cons Getting the initial forms filled out and signed by the owner was a bit of a chore. Patriot Software knew the requirements needed to get the job done and when our forms did not meet those requirements, I had to go back and get them corrected. This issue was completely on our end and because of the expertise of Patriot Software, our forms were accepted by the IRS and the startup of the payroll was able to go off without a hitch. Pros I love the ease of running payroll from my phone? I love that all of the tax filings are dealt with through patriot. Cons I don’t like how it integrates with quickbooks. It’s not the best. I wish it was a more simple integration with more accurate descriptions of everything. I don’t love that direct deposit takes so long, even with a prefund. And I don’t like the prefund. Before Patriot I had not run payroll I was mostly a one woman show. I need an affordable software that was easy to use and I could get running quickly. Patriot delivered. Cons Price for each additional employee. Wish this was tiered pricing so you can select a tier and pay one price until you reach the tier limit. Whenever we have a question, the chat feature is so helpful. Helps make the patroll tasks so much easier. They handle it all for us. Pros For years we originally had PP just do the calculations. We wrote the checks and did all the tax filings. We changed over two years ago to full service. It is amazing how much time and effort has been freed up. They do it all. Cons We haven't seen any.
