I'm sure I will be using it for years to come. Pros The software is fairly easy to use, it's very affordable, and it has a great accountant/bookkeeper program. Cons The direct deposit schedule is slower than with other providers, but for the price I can't really company. Many clients are happy with that trade-off. It is a great alternative for our cost conscious non-profit clients and it gives an improved functionality over other Payroll processing software such as Quickbooks Online Payroll. We no longer have to worry about fixing payroll mistakes because the customer support is superior and I've never had an experience that wasn't helpful. Pros This software is easy to use. The Help section is extensive and procedures up to date. Customer support is timely and representatives are knowledgeable. Cons There are situations when pay period dates don't auto-fill. I Used PayChex with a Previous business and it was a Nightmare, always had Problems with Payroll Taxes - They Never applied to tax account properly, Not to mention the ENDLESS hidden FEES.... Pros Easy process to get started and it worked for me just as well with one employee as it does now with 8. It has been easy to grow with software and the online help function handles even some normally difficult questions on how to allocate distributions and contributions all without a full time HR or bookkeeper in house. Cons It has no quick void function that I have found. Like most busy business people, I get things put in and soon as it is done, it alters the debits that it is going to make for taxes etc. on the software side. Sometimes so fast that if I need to make a change, I have to void the entire payroll and redo it. A slight delay between scheduling to pull the money out and the time that payroll is submitted would be helpful. I love the COVID-19 features recently added- a good example of how invested Patriot is to making our work easy! Pros As a small business owner, I love having a comprehensive payroll system that not only accurately manages payroll for my team, but it "helps" me to follow laws (that constantly change) by having accurate data structures and helpful "tips" embedded right into the GUI. Cons Pulling reports is not as intuitive as it could be. My accountant can probably manage fine, but I am not a fiscal expert. It would be great to be able to pull reports that were labeled for non-financial users. They've stolen hundreds of my money without my consent and refuse to call me back or return my money. Pros They were fairly easy to use while you are using it. Cons The most awful experience. Don't use them. Seriously this company is a bunch of scam artists. I was told my services were canceled and found out they'd been taking money from my account without me using it for 7 months even after they told me they had canceled it. 7 months! I've requested call backs and not a soul will return a call. Patriot has save me hundreds of hours both during the week and in place of monthly, quarterly, and yearly reportings. I can't count how much those hours mean to me! Pros The dashboard is very useful and it's all easy to navigate. Cons I had a problem with our state tax filings and at first it seemed like I would not get any help from Patriot, but finally we all three (me, Patriot and the state) figured out the problem. It has some quirks that takes getting used to but it's easy to navigate and use once you get used to it. Cons 1) The onboarding is not as easy as advertised.2) There are any number of things the new user is just assumed to know what you want3) Your system times you out despite being active. If you have a payroll in progress, you lose it all and have to start over. Unnecessary. Cons I cannot yet delegate the timecard approval to a manager without that manager seeing everyone's payroll including the owner.
