I was recommended Patriot Software by my CPA, and have been using it for several years now. It is easy to use, easy to set up, and takes care of everything I need for my small business.

Pros

Direct deposit, ease of set up, ability to add contractors and employees

Cons

Sometimes the reports are hard to find which can be frustrating

Customer service is top notch and my overall experience has been really good!

Pros

Features and ease of use are the best that I have experienced. This is my third payroll company and I believe it will be my last! Really easy to view past payrolls, easy for my employees to get on on-line for paystubs. End of year is easier than previous payroll companies ( 1099, w-2 , etc..)!

Cons

I would like to be able to separate payroll expense into different categories, i.e., Frontdesk, Dentist, Dental asst., Hygiene.) in my business into Quickbooks. As of right now I am only able to get a total payroll rolled up into QB, however you can see the breakout on Patriot. I really would like to have it separated when I do the payroll transfer into my QB's account.

We Love having a digital time clock that our employees can use to clock themselves in and out. No more timecards to deal with. Our employees really like this feature as well.

Cons

I use to integrate with QuickBooks but I felt it was redundant because the bank statement auto uploaded so I would have duplicate information so I shut that feature off.

Pros

I truly appreciated that Patriot Software had my back in filing the necessary paperwork and fees to the IRS and State revenue departments. The calculations for withholding is streamlined. I loved working with Patriot Software!

Cons

To be honest, I have no complaints or issues with the software or their service.

Overall, experience has been very good to excellent - a couple of glitches here and there, but nothing that cannot be fixed by a quick chat with their customer support people

Pros

Gives accountants discounts. Also, whenever there is a problem or I have a question, I can always chat with them - wait time is no more than 5 minutes and they answer my questions or we fix a problem in no time. So much better than dealing with QuickBooks Online Payroll

Cons

They used to give much larger discounts to accountants and now that they have taken a large percentage away, it is much more difficult to sell and support Patriot Payroll to our clients

### "Easiest Software I've ever had to use"

It is easy to set up and easy to use. I love that it calculates all of the taxes for you and pays the payroll taxes you owe for you. You don't really have to do anything except enter the weekly payroll amount. Patriot Software does everything else for you. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Pros

The software is easy to use, easy to learn. If you have questions , you can always chat or call customer service and they will walk you through step by step. I love that they pay all of your taxes for you, so that's one less thing that you have to worry about.

Cons

There's really not anything that I don't like about the software. I have never had any issues with it.

I have been very impressed with every facet of the experience with Patriot. I hope they do not falter, and continue to offer a fabulous price with robust support!

Pros

I think the US based Customer Support is the greatest asset to this software. They answer quickly and have efficiently addressed any issue I have encountered. Coupled with the value, I have no problem making this my ONLY choice.

Cons

The software does not have as many features as Intuit, my second favorite option, but the price makes those inconveniences minor.

Tremendous value and I have recommended to several friends.

Pros

Very easy to setup employees and configure deductions/contributions, ie HSA, 401k, etc. Their full service payroll is a tremendous value and well worth it. For any questions during initial configuration or for making changes after up and running, Patriot support is outstanding.

Cons

While its very easy to use, there are endless features and options which I don't. This is just a suggestion, but it might be nice to allow the end user to hide or remove those components which are not pertinent.

This software is much easier to use than the software that I was using before. I am very happy with Patriot Payroll and would highly recommend it to other businesses.

Pros

I like this software because it is very easy to use and I can run my payroll very quickly, saving me time as a busy small business owner. I also like how it takes care of paying my taxes and it automatically creates my tax forms.

Cons

I have not had any problems with the software and when I have a question the support staff is very helpful.

Patriot has been and remains the best solution that I have used (so I'm not switching!). It saved my butt way back when and makes life way easier today. It is definitely a staple in our shop!

Pros

The software is so immediately available (some of my payrolls are done late at night and from the office or my home). The ease of use, fast loading and several checkpoints are superb. I know just enough about accounting and payroll to be dangerous, and Patriot has kept me on point, and 'honest'!

Cons

I am at times still somewhat dubious about how and where to 'keep' electronic copies of the various forms. Naming conventions that I have changed to my understanding makes it possible, so I get around. I have always wanted there to be an instant review of my printouts. Nothing that hinders the fast process.

Overall, I'm very happy with this company. There customer service is the best. You always talk to a person and there hasn't been an issue yet that they haven't solved.

Pros

This is a great software package for payoll. Very user friendly. I am a bookkeeper consultant for many different companies and have always promoted this software for payroll.

Cons

Would love to have an option to split employees time to job costing. Pricing was great until it doubled the beginning of the year. No heads up. Just doubled. Still trying to figure out what Patriot takes care of as far as year end taxes. Very hard to find information as to what I am still responsible to provide to my employees/contractors.

Simple, easy, efficient, effective, perfect.

Pros

It has made payroll extraordinarily easy and simple. I have no issues running payroll and reporting and filings are done seamlessly and accurately with the state and the IRS.

Cons

It took me a time to get the right tax id numbers but that was a state issue, not a software issue. so I have no complaints on the software

It has been excellent. Aside from the reports I have found it exceptionally easy to use, the customer service is amazing and timely, I cannot see myself switching payroll companies anytime soon.

Pros

The live agent chat, the ease of reporting, the ease of payroll processing, all of it really.

Cons

Not all reports print the same, missing the title of the report or the layout varies report to report. I would prefer that they all appear as the Payroll Liabilities Report, with a clear heading and a much cleaner report. Also, it would be great if Patriot could develop or integrate timesheets or timeclock capabilities so it is not a manual entry each time.

Just simple and efficient. Who can ask for more.

Pros

Ease of use in getting Payroll completed and printed even if I'm away from the office. Reports and setup was very simple with help from customer service.

Cons

Non that I've noticed so far. You just need to get use to the product. For instance I could not give pay raises if a payroll was saved but not run. After looking into it you need to make updates to staff before starting a payroll. Very easy to use once you start using the software.

Overall, Patriot has been great to work with. Set up was quick and easy. Onboarding employees and contractors are straight-forward and not hard to do. And their service is top-notch as well.

Pros

I like the ease of use and user-friendly interface and dashboard.

Cons

I think that the timeline when processing payroll isn't as advantageous to small businesses as more expensive options like ADP can be. Although it's not as costly as ADP it required payroll to be funded about a week ahead of check dates which can be challenging for a new, small field service company.

SINCE WE STARTED THE BUSINESS THREE YEARS AGO I HEARD THE AD FOR PATRIOT ON CNBC SIRIUS/XM RADIO AND HAVE BEEN A LOYAL USER. PAYROLL, PAYROLL REGISTERS, YEAR END, W-2 ARE ALL USER FRIENDLY

Pros

I have a home health company in addition to Joint Worx, we have 140-150 employees and use ADP which is cumbersome, employees and it takes considerably more time than Patriot. JW has 4 employees and payroll takes 3 minutes, reports are easy to download r system is incredibly user friendly and the best value for a small business. I have recommended it to others and told our accountant how easy it is to use. Customer service when I have had to call in was very helpful I am a Fan

ADDING THE EXPENSE ACCOUNT WAS A BIT CONFUSING BUT NOW EASYY

I’ve been pleased and the customer service of there have been issues or questions has been over the top helpful. Every time I’ve had to call it’s been prompt service and super helpful.

### "Patriot Software Review In Short"

The overall experience has improved over time. 15 months ago, it was evident they were having growing pains. Support was slow or lacking and it caused me frustration in trying to get this platform set up. Fast forward to today, I do not have issue at all. Support is good and response times are excellent. For example, I wans needing to add a bunch of custom tax related info for end of year 2020 and \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] on the Customer Success team helped me through the process in a couple of sessions. He was flexible, knowledgeable and very helpful. He is an asset to that team.

Pros

The base need was to run payroll for my small business. Patriot Software is very good at this function. The customer support has improved drastically. And I would consider it very good now. The support agents are very knowledgeable.

Cons

There are certain aspects of the platform that are not quite there yet. If you are running expenses such as healthcare premiums or doing Solo401k, they are lacking the ability to do deposits into these accounts at this time. It is on the roadmap.

Reason for choosing Patriot Payroll

I wanted to go with a start up to see if their approach would grow with me. It was a bit of a risk as I was not familiar with these platforms. I could have went the standard route with an ADP or Intuit, but wanted to try Patriot as I did not have a lot to lose if it all went bad in the first year...SO far it has been good. And more integrations and process being developed.

It's been a very good experience with Patriot payroll , haven't noticed any major changes with this tool,the customer support is effective and reliable both on phone and on email. With Patriot payroll we have our human resources have made the payroll to run easier, smoothly and affordably.

Pros

I proposed this tool to my organization after being briefed by a friend who had deployed to their company. Since then generation of payroll is solved and in real time.

Cons

At many times it fails to capture the real time of employees which has resulted to re introduction of paper work ,also the HR team has raised the issue of not being to change paydate once it has passed.

Great experience. Started with one employee, now have seven full time and two part time employees. Software has grown with my business while keeping costs low.

Pros

I can run payroll in minutes and run reports on past payrolls with ease for project cost and also for insurance audits and PPP loan forgiveness

Cons

I do not have any complaints about the software.

Cost was a big factor but also the ability to do everything myself from anywhere with an internet connection. Ease of payroll processing and the ability to run any report needed are why I stay with Patriot.
