It has made processing payroll so much easier since our company converted to it. I’d definitely recommend it to other businesses. Pros It makes keeping track of payroll and processing weekly time sheets very easy. It has lots of options to customize it for your business. Cons It was kind of hard to learn. They offer an array of options and variations, allowing you to customize the program to best fit your needs and functions. I can't speak highly enough of their customer service - they are extremely quick to follow up with to needs/functions and to any issues at hand or questions in general. Pros How efficient and user-friendly it is. They make it particularly easy, when it comes to taxes and tax reports. We are able to handle a majority of our taxes on our own and save money with a lesser use for our tax accountant, thanks to the features offered in Patriot. Cons Really, none. The few features we have previously felt it lacked have now been integrated into the software. Makes taxes and payroll A LOT easier--especially important if you are a small business and don't have a dedicated HR/Accounts person. Pros An easy-to-use product, especially if you are a small business. Took a lot of the headache out of payroll and the critical paperwork that comes with it. We LOVE that you can pay contractors in a payroll run (or separately) and Patriot will automatically generate appropriate 1099s at the end of the year. Cons Sometimes is takes a little searching to find the information you need. It is hard, for example, to look for data within a specific data range; you have to generate an entire report from a certain date. Patriot has proven to be one of the best overall decisions I have made. It answers all of our payroll needs with ease. The system is user friendly for me as the administrator and for our employees as well. If there are ever any questions, the customer service team is always there to help. They are patient and extremely knowledgeable. I couldn't ask for more in a payroll service. Oh! And the cost! You cannot beat it's affordability. It is wonderful to be able to check off a vital segment of our business operation, and know that we never have to worry about payroll issues. An absolutely fantastic product. I stopped using them but they never failed to keep sucking money out of my account. I now have to fix everything they have done and close that account down. Also when I did have a problem and got someone to talk to me. This was in the beginning. They had to go to their supervisor who's solution to the problem was to give me the phone number for the IRS. Bunch of kids who don't know what they are doing. Pros It will take your info and produce reports that are useful. Cons I did my own payroll for myself and others at a previous job where I was also the boss. The first thing patriot did was hit my bank account for the 940 Fed unemployment tax that you pay as people make money through the year. When They get to a certain amount ( used to be $7,000.) then you stop. Well they took it all first thing. Then I find out from my accountant and tax person that I'm not even suppose to pay it. Patriot's customer service is super, there's always someone available to help and walk-thru the setup process for free. The customer service is very responsive. The rep is friendly and patience. Cons Patriot does not integrate with others 401k providers, it has only one option to choose from is Vestwell. Cons Not allowed more than one type of time off accrual for the company. Easier to use, cheaper and more complete than the full service local payroll provider i was using. I'm not super happy with the software itself, it is finicky and if you want to make alterations mid-payroll, you have to cancel the payroll entirely. Overall, however, it is the best bang for your buck for a small business owner. My parents (age: 60s) are small business owners and not well versed in computer programs. I have helped them set up an account and trouble shoot with your customer service until we all are understanding of the whole process. Your customer service is top of the line - I am very impressed with it, I thank you for whatever training you give to that position. My questions are always answered and usually I start frustrated and end feeling informed and knowledgeable. We are only 2 payrolls into your software but are excited for the freed-up time to do other things. Pros The software is easy to maneuver. The pages are laid out well. It is very user friendly. My parents are not well versed on navigating anything computer and this software is easy to understand. The customer service is the BEST I have ever communicated with. They are patient and informative, they know the program and are not reading or responding with auto. I have communicated with customer service multiple times through online chat and over the phone. The bar is set high for all other customer service. Cons I think the software itself is great. I am teaching my parents how to use the software and that has been slow moving- but not any fault of Patriot. The switch couldn't have been easier or smoother!! The customer support team is AMAZING and so easy and helpful to work with. We are extremely pleased that we made the switch. Pros I love how easy it is to manage my data myself without having the "support team" have to make different changes. I love the ease and quickness of the quarterly reports. I love the 2 day direct deposit turn around. Cons There are a couple of reports that I had been used to getting from an other software company. Pros First the value for the money. What you get when you pay for patriot payroll just leaves other payroll providers in the dust. ADP once approached me about becoming a payroll provider and the sales rep was shocked when I showed what I paying at Patriot Payroll. Additionally, the way in which they are able to handle all of the payroll is amazing. Also, it is integrative with Quickbooks which to me as an accountant is crucial. Cons The biggest thing is definitely the length that it takes for direct deposit to process. Starting out they want four business days. July 6, 2016 5.0 Took me awhile to navigate everything, mostly because we've never employed anyone before. I needed help to get started and great customer service to get me through the process since I was unfamiliar with all that was needed. They took me from New Hire to setting up the payroll. You can print checks or write them out yourself. It's been pretty smooth. Competitively priced. Pros It was pretty easy once I got all the forms from the employees and numbers I needed from the state and bank. PS is right their to help you. They don't send a bazillion e-mails but a check up once in awhile. I have only been using it for about a month but so far so good. I did have the advantage of a friend's experiences with other payroll software...she's been through 3 or 4 so far. So I didn't give those a try at all. They will run my 1099's and W-2's at the end of the year for me. We do need to request some services as they don't necessarily do them automatically. I've had great customer service and they patiently walk me through everything when I need it. Cons Sometimes it's hard to know where the online info is that I need. The "check stub" gives the employee fees as well as the the employer contributions so I cut it in half. But that may be due to the fact that I write the checks instead of printing off a business payroll check. I would like them to have an option just for commission. You have to put in some hourly thing (I put $1) and then you can put in commission later in the program. So it works, it's kind of like they worked for you for an hour and you paid them $500. Expensive looking hour. Everything is online ( I am a paper in hand person...) so some times I am not sure where to find what I am looking for.
