Our employee find the portal easy to use. Getting the w-2 out on time because they can go into the portal and it is available to them. So basically by Jan 15 everyone had their 2”w-2 no stamps needed. Cons Nothing actually, everything is easy and self explainable. Managing all reposts and the accessibility is great! No complaints. Pros We've been pleased with Patriot Payroll and have used their services for many years. It's easy-to-use, customer/client support is outstanding, and we seldom (if ever) have had bugs in all the years we've been with them. I have recommended Patriot to my business friends and feel they have earned the 5 starts I have them. Cons I can't name a thing that I like least about Patriot Payroll except that a few times there a was a fee that wasn't our company's fault - it was actually an issue between our bank and Patriot. If my practice grows, I will probably get their bookkeeping software as well, but right now I'm small enough that I don't need it yet. Pros The ease of use is the best thing about Patriot Payroll. I was able to set it up without much problem. I have a background in accounting, so I'm not sure how easy it would be if you knew nothing about payroll, but someone who has kept books should be able to do it no problem. Also, their customer support was amazing. I couldn't remember if I'd selected something for the taxes and I wrote their support and the responded within a few hours. The value is great too - the penalties are steep for messing up payroll and so full service payroll is less than the cost of a steak dinner every month. Right now I'm the only employee, but I feel confident that if I bring on staff, that I will not have any trouble setting up compliant payroll for an employee. Forget these huge corporate conglomerates that don't care about you, go with these guys! Cons Nothing at all. I felt that the price and support are worth the money that I am paying to be compliant with payroll taxes. So far I have had no bugs or other issues and their support has been fantastic. I highly recommend the Patriot Software. So far, it has exceeded my expectations. Pros Patriot Payroll was easy to set up and easy to use. The interface is simple and intuitive. Prior to setting up, I called customer service as a test. I got a human on the phone quickly. They were knowledgeable and answered my questions. During the setup, we had additional questions. The person who answered the phone answered the questions without transferring the call. The pricing is very reasonable. The program is easy to use, customer service is excellent, and the pricing is reasonable. You can ask for anything more. Cons We have been using Patriot Payroll since January 1, 2026. There is NOTHING I don't like. We were using ADP. I wish I had switched long ago. I have been very satisfied with the response when I have questions. Pros Price and ease of use. Very user friendly. The ability to change the payroll once it is created is very handy. Cons Ability to use more accounts for coding of payroll checks in the Payroll Integration Area. Different employees go to different accounts and that does not appear to be an option. I have recommended Patriot to three other people, and each one has called me to thank me. Pros It is super simple to use, we even combined it with the 401K and Patriot takes care of everything. I no longer have to spend hours each quarter filling out federal and state forms. Well worth the money spent. I can do payroll from my phone when I am out of the office which is great since I am the payroll manager. Pros It is so easy to use and a great value for the money. We do weekly payroll and have never had a problem. Cons I wish it was easier to get year to date payroll information on each employee. To my knowledge, there is not a year to date page. For a one-man LLC/Sub-S with only one employee, Patriot Payroll Software is by far the cheapest and easiest to use. And their customer support is stellar. You always get a live person to help whenever you need support. Cons The lack of a quarterly payroll option. Since we only run payroll quarterly, it would be nice if they had the option for quarterly payroll. Cons At times the site could be more user friendly to navigate. Previous years it took me forever to figure out how to set up a lump sum health benefit. Some functions seem a bit redundant. They actually answer the phone when you call--you don't have to deal with bots online or FAQs that don't match what you need. Their folks are helpful and courteous.
