Pros I put off purchasing any accounting software because my first experience with Intuit was expensive, failed customer support, never was able to get started and they did not refund the cost even when their system did not work for me. But, I tried Patriot and was able to get started with very little help needed, step-by-step assistance, excellent follow up support and super affordable. This makes payroll a breeze and taxes are taken care of. I save soooo much time! Cons That I did not learn about them earlier. It was a commercial on Fox. I think marketing needs to be greater. Pros The customer support is second to none. Every time I call, staff is knowledgeable, efficient, and spot on. They help to resolve my questions quickly, there is never any gap in service, the calls are always clear, I love that it feels like I'm talking to people who know what they're talking about, are willing to troubleshoot, and the calls never seem to be outsourced to people I cannot understand. I have called them a few times and they have been helpful overall. You need to make sure your account is set up so get all your documents ready and call if you have any questions. Pros Value for money, their customer support responds. We are able to run payroll so ease of use is there. Cons I had to contact them a few months after first initiating the service. I'm not too familiar with payroll so I did not know I had to finish setting up the software before patriot would start sending the taxes to state and federal. I was not contacted to finish set up or at least I did not see any notice. It is the main reason why we are using this software and was hoping they would be more proactive on getting our business onboard. Cons I would like more options in creating the invoice and estimate forms. I also need a delivery receipt form when we deliver our products. Also need an easier way to enter credit card charges to split up expenses. I work with some other businesses and I am going to recommend it pending a trial of their accounting solution. Compared with QuickBooks its better for experienced users. Their is more flexibility and the software isn't directed toward pressuring users into purchasing more services. Instead its easy and straight forward. Pros Patriot Software has been the perfect payroll solution for the company that I work for. It offers a lot of flexibility and a lot of value for the cost. While some companies solutions like QuickBooks or ADP try to force additional and often unneeded services, Patriot Software allows the user to do as much for themselves as they prefer. The website is very intuitively laid out and easy to use. Customer support is readily available on responds quickly with useful solutions. The company I work for does not have any use for additional expensive HR functions or a software that forces you to also pay for their accounting solution. Logging into the website, managing employees and running payroll is simple. Cons My biggest issue with the service is that direct deposits if processed on a Monday are not deposited into employee accounts until Friday. Five days is the longest I've seen. I just had to issue paper checks last payroll because of Memorial Day. The software does allow to easily switch to paper checks if its desirable though. Also I have been informed that established accounts can get that processing time shortened. They also do offer the option to prefund the direct deposits in which case the funds can be deposited next day. The main vendor has a limited number of enterprise software solutions the accept reports from so most of our business functions are handled on that software be it accounting or customers. That ERM does not have a payroll solution. We used to use QuickBooks but the cost skyrocketed and they also stopped offering payroll as a stand alone product. We got quotes from ADP but it is quite expensive. It's a very robust service and I am sure they are good at what they do but this is a small business with capable experienced management handling the payroll. A smaller less expensive solution was really preferred. Patriot Software has filled this area perfectly for us. We have no problem making payroll payments or sending reports and don't really need the software to do everything for us. I like that we are not constantly being upsold on more products and services. The cost is very fair. It does everything that the older version of QuickBooks did but also can do a lot more if desired. We recommend Patriot, 100%. The system is reliable, easy to use, and support is fantastic. Pros Their support is outstanding. We get a real human American person on the phone and in email or chat. That is a huge plus for us. The software is very easy and not overly complicated. It is exactly what we need as a small business. The system is quick and responsive, too. We have never experienced any down-time or system outages. Cons The lack of an API for us to connect our system to. That is the only thing we wish we had available. Pros Solid payroll management product that works well for a small business like mine with under 20 employees -saves me time and easy to use, terrific, helpful customer service, nice people, prices are reasonable. no hidden charges Cons no complaints, not fancy interface, there is a small learning curve to knowing how to navigate the different reporting capabilities.
