Cons Not being able to run bonuses without taxes withheld is our biggest dislike. Some employers like to give employees the most possible but it is a very manual process. Pros I put off purchasing any accounting software because my first experience with Intuit was expensive, failed customer support, never was able to get started and they did not refund the cost even when their system did not work for me. But, I tried Patriot and was able to get started with very little help needed, step-by-step assistance, excellent follow up support and super affordable. This makes payroll a breeze and taxes are taken care of. I save soooo much time! Cons That I did not learn about them earlier. It was a commercial on Fox. I think marketing needs to be greater. They help to resolve my questions quickly, there is never any gap in service, the calls are always clear, I love that it feels like I'm talking to people who know what they're talking about, are willing to troubleshoot, and the calls never seem to be outsourced to people I cannot understand. Pros Value for money, their customer support responds. We are able to run payroll so ease of use is there. Cons I had to contact them a few months after first initiating the service. I'm not too familiar with payroll so I did not know I had to finish setting up the software before patriot would start sending the taxes to state and federal. I was not contacted to finish set up or at least I did not see any notice. It is the main reason why we are using this software and was hoping they would be more proactive on getting our business onboard. I came from Quickbooks so we are saving money and I don’t need a lot of extras to run a small business. Pros It is simple and cost effective for small businesses. I have called in for support and have always gotten a live person to help me with any questions. Also they have lots of videos to help you. Cons I would like more options in creating the invoice and estimate forms. I also need a delivery receipt form when we deliver our products. Also need an easier way to enter credit card charges to split up expenses. I even have the option to run payments for my contractors and 1099 people. It's quite simple and versatile to use. Pros I like that the product is simple and easy to use AND it's a lot less expensive than the big payroll services we were used to. Not only that, if we need assistance, the customer support is awesome. I also love that I can make non-payroll payments through the portal. All around very happy with Patriot Payroll! Cons Initial Set-Up. However, I actually had my son helping me with it, so he was able to get it done without my help.
