Pros The support has been fantastic! Whenever I have a question, they patiently walk me through it step by step. Cons I’ve always outsourced payroll, but when I discovered Patriot and realized my provider was already using their service, I decided to take it over myself. There was a small learning curve in navigating the site and ensuring everything was entered correctly, but I’ve now completed our W-2 from last year and two months of payroll. So much better than the faceless interface to QuickBooks/Intuit. Pros They handle all submissions at the federal and state levels. No filing of anything from me! Cons Finding the right report to generate, based on their brief two word name, is often challenging. Is it a report? A tax filing? And how to set it up? For example, our yearly workers comp insurance audit requires squaring with quarterly submissions across two years. Generating the right report is tricky! Pros Patriot Payroll Service is the easiest software I've ever used to process the payrolls. I'm an Insurance Agent with only 2 payrolls, the payroll processing fees are very reasonable, I've one less thing to worry about filing my payroll taxes with state and Fed. It's all done by this service. Cons So far I have not encounterd any problems with this service. When combined with Patriot's accounting software, journal entries are automatically made based on payroll entries. The price is also relatively affordable and is great for businesses in Ohio in particular as the software can process federal, state, and local taxes on your behalf. Cons When combined with Patriot Accounting, the payroll journal entries are automatic but do not always match the exact dates that cash is withdrawn from the bank account. The ease in talking with knowledgeable support staff is worth the move from Quickbooks alone! Pros Reports are clearer and more professional in appearance than Paychex Cons No clear deadlines for my payroll schedule. I would love to see a "due date" for completing the payroll on my Dashboard, as well as a "payroll accepted" on my dashboard. Pros I have 1 part-time employee and process 2 payrolls/month. The payroll processing fees charged by my previous company had increased by a factor of 3 after my first year with them, so I began to look for alternatives. has chat support online M-F and I began asking questions about their services. I was immediately impressed with the quality of their support: all questions (and I asked a lot) were answered immediately, courteously, and correctly. So, I decided to start working with Patriot. The cost of payroll processing was about 25% of my previous service and the service itself is excellent. Setup takes some time and effort, but, again, any time I had a question it was immediately answered. Cons I can't think of anything. I have been working with them for 2 months and I seriously have nothing but praise for their whole payroll operation.
