I have had almost no issue and when I have had any questions or concerns they were always there to help me. Pros This product was the perfect fit for our company. Being a small family owned business cost containment is crucial and Patriot delivers on that front without sacrificing valuable tools and professional payroll delivery. They have all the necessary reporting features. I don't need to be concerned about timely filing with taxing agencies and can focus on being profitable. Cons My least favorite part was making the transition from my full service payroll company. I was fearful of making errors in the startup reporting. It does take some doing but is worth the effort and time spent. The customer service was very helpful and tried to make it as painless as possible. Reason for choosing Patriot Software Patriot provided the best value for services offered. June 12, 2023 5.0 It’s been great overall Pros Patriot Software has been an easy to use alternative to other software that I’ve used for payroll. The process has been simple, and tracking payroll and taxes has been a breeze. Cons Getting setup with the software was a bit of a pain the first time, but I understand the reason for the process that they use to get a company set up, so not really a complaint. The journal entry into Quickbooks could be better with more options. We like Patriot's products so much that we are adding the Accounting module after the new year. Pros I like the fact that when I require help I can call your support team and get the answer I need, usually in under 5 minutes. The fact that the support is USA based is a plus. Cons I was a little confused by the setup wizard during on-boarding due to the fact we did not yet have our SUTA account info from the state tax agency. The wizard failed to note that you need to enter a "placeholder" account number and tax rate to advance through the setup. This was all made clear when I call the support help line. Pros I liked that is seamless with the Patriot accounting software, and that it is priced competitively. It was so easy to set up with the help of a customer service person, and using it bi-weekly, is a quick and easy operation. I can't believe it is possible to have a better option. Cons There are no cons that I can think of. The payroll software has been amazing. After watching the video, I felt even better about it, and after installing it with the customer service person from Patriot, I felt even better about deciding to go with Patriot. Pros After my bank terminated their payroll service after 15 years, I had to switch payroll providers. But I am a small company and didn’t want to pay several hundred dollars for paying 2-3 employees. I found Patriot after an radio ad and the pricing was very reasonable. I then reviewed the product for features I needed, but not too many that would make it difficult. This product fit my needs, is reasonably priced and now, after use, is easy to run payroll and handle payroll taxes. As a sole proprietor running a small business, I was not prepared to handle payroll taxes. ADP was so expensive, i felt. Paychex had me depend on a person to take my info and process it. That person was off one day when my payroll needed completed and i missed payroll! That didn't go over well. For the last few years we have used and fallen in love with the simplicity of Patriot. I input the numbers and it gives me a PDF to print onto my checks instantly. It's all I ever wanted. Pros 1.) Its simple to use. 2.) Its cheap. 3.) Full featured but lets me print my own checks instantly. Cons I thought at first that Patriot was going to send out the Tax documents to my employees. But that wasnt the case. That was a bummer as i wasnt at first prepared. But it makes since that we should send them to know we meet our deadlines and have proof they were sent. January 12, 2021 5.0 Saving time and eliminating the risk and liability of missing deadlines for filing are the biggest problems I'm solving. I spend 10 minutes max every two weeks on payroll. Pros Having tried filing payrolls documents myself, I found it to be a nightmare of paperwork, made that much more difficult by the State of Maryland, who seems to thrive on making things complicated. Enter Patriot Payroll to the rescue! They make payroll easy and even stay on top of the ever changing requirements doled out by the State. A huge timesaver! Cons As a sole proprietorship, I don't have a lot of super complicated payroll tasks, so I likely don't take advantage of the many features. I can't think of anything that I'm lacking as it takes care of 401k, taxes, and all of the straightforward payroll items I need. Currently the only problem iam facing with patriot payroll is loss of information. 2. The benefits are that the software updates the information accurately and timely which realives me from the stress of doing it manually. The most impactful feature are: A) Tax compliance B) leave and vacations This is very impactful beacuse it helps the organization to comout accurate information and submit to the tax authorities to avoid being penalized. 2. The product is very very easy to use as it didn't take alot of time to learn it. 3. The integration process with the existing organisation was very easy. There were no challenges faced. Cons 1\. The leave and vacations feature should be imporved as there have been some instances where our organization has experienced loss of data. 2. I don't have a lot to compare it too, but I do hear complaints fom my collegues about what they use. Pros The support is generally very helpful in solving whatever the issue is. Cons Sometimes when there is help requested, it is given to someone that I have to start over with the process. Reason for choosing Patriot Software Cost was a first thing, then after using the ease of it seems to be more intuitive. Patriot Software has greatly reduced the time it takes to me to run payroll and to file our quarterly/annual tax forms. And the cost was a fraction of what we were paying at ADP. I would highly recommend Patriot Software for any small business. Pros Our primary reason for choosing Patriot was the MUCH lower cost as compared to ADP. The initial company setup was very intuitive and any questions/issues were quickly addressed/solves through the Chat feature. Patriot's various reports are extremely valuable when it comes time to file the various tax forms. The Direct Deposit feature for both W-2 employees and 1099 Contractors saves us the cost and aggravation of generating/mailing paper checks. Cons We pay our staff twice a month. The 4-business day lead time to process Direct Deposits occasionally trips me up especially if the pay date is near a banking holiday. Reason for choosing Patriot Software I heard about Patriot on the radio and when I heard what the cost(s) were and that there was a free 30-day trial I did not look any further. Even though I had to work through some glitches with Owner Distributions, I would highly recommend Patriot. Pros I had used a large payroll provider prior to Patriot but did not need or use all the features since there were only 6 employees total. This is exactly what I was looking for. Does everything I need to have done and provide information to our accountant for Tax Returns. I also love that my employees can log into their own portal and it provides them everything they need on a personal basis. Cons As an owner who has paid employees as well as Distributions to the owner, I feel like the software needs more instruction on how to set up distributions. The first year I had the software, I was provided instructions on how to set up Owner Distributions but the deductions were still treated like I was a W2 employee. This caused me to have to file an amended personal TR. Patriot worked with me at a discounted charge but I would like to see better instructions for Owner Distributions. The price is great, about half of ADP. Cons The required funds to be deposited time period is a little too long, for Friday's payday, if you process the payroll on Monday, then you need to deposit money on Monday. In comparison my ADP account I can deposit money by Thursday to make Friday's payday. I have used their program for a while so I get the payroll completed in no time. With direct deposit, Patriot doing all the tax filings, easy to find and print reports, it really is a fairly priced payroll system that I highly recommend. Pros It is very easy to set up new employees and maintain current employees. Patriot added reporting needed to comply with the Payroll Protection Program during the pandemic which was extremely valuable. Tax filings are completed properly and on time. Having used a large payroll provider previously, and being treated as if my small company didn't matter, and the very high prices, I'm glad I found Patriot. Cons I do wish Patriot had better ways to get customer support. It can be difficult to get an answer and then you are waiting for a return email or call. One of the specialists told me they were short staffed and that is an issue all its own. I needed to find a software that was economical and something that I could do myself...without any experience with accounting. I was very impressed with the customer service representatives who helped me set up Patriot Software and then taught me how to run the forms that my accountant said that I would need. I have been using it for a full year now to create monthly payroll, create payroll tax liabilities reports for the Employment Development Department, and run the W-2. It is so easy. Honestly, the experience has been better than when I was having the accountant do it! Cons I dont think many people use it for household employees/nannies. The set up required that I provide a name of my business. I dont have a name. I figured out that I could just name my business "Household" and then I was able to use the software. It would have been nice if there were FAQ to give guidance. I almost did not use Patriot Software because I thought it would not work for my purposes.
