Pros I love how easy it is to set up the software. Payroll functions are general and easy to use as well. Cons I don't like how I can not fully customize reports, it only goes back 3 months for some payroll and vendor functions. Also the invoice feature is not good, the invoices look bad and are not very customizable. Reason for choosing Patriot Software Ease of setting up and enrolling. Set up was quick and easy. Onboarding employees and contractors are straight-forward and not hard to do. And their service is top-notch as well. Pros I like the ease of use and user-friendly interface and dashboard. Cons I think that the timeline when processing payroll isn't as advantageous to small businesses as more expensive options like ADP can be. Although it's not as costly as ADP it required payroll to be funded about a week ahead of check dates which can be challenging for a new, small field service company. Only complaint was they once "disconnected" my account because I hadnt categorized the imported transactions in 90 days, but they gave me no warning so I ended up having to re-set everything back up and manually add all those missed transactions. Pros Easy to learn quickly and manage with little time or effort! Cons A few issues setting up but customer service helped me understand how to fix. PAYROLL, PAYROLL REGISTERS, YEAR END, W-2 ARE ALL USER FRIENDLY Pros I have a home health company in addition to Joint Worx, we have 140-150 employees and use ADP which is cumbersome, employees and it takes considerably more time than Patriot. JW has 4 employees and payroll takes 3 minutes, reports are easy to download r system is incredibly user friendly and the best value for a small business. I have recommended it to others and told our accountant how easy it is to use. Support was slow or lacking and it caused me frustration in trying to get this platform set up. Fast forward to today, I do not have issue at all. Support is good and response times are excellent. For example, I wans needing to add a bunch of custom tax related info for end of year 2020 and \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] on the Customer Success team helped me through the process in a couple of sessions. He was flexible, knowledgeable and very helpful. He is an asset to that team. Pros The base need was to run payroll for my small business. Patriot Software is very good at this function. The customer support has improved drastically. And I would consider it very good now. The support agents are very knowledgeable. Cons There are certain aspects of the platform that are not quite there yet. If you are running expenses such as healthcare premiums or doing Solo401k, they are lacking the ability to do deposits into these accounts at this time. It is on the roadmap. Reason for choosing Patriot Software I wanted to go with a start up to see if their approach would grow with me. It was a bit of a risk as I was not familiar with these platforms. I could have went the standard route with an ADP or Intuit, but wanted to try Patriot as I did not have a lot to lose if it all went bad in the first year...SO far it has been good. Reports are fairly easy to generate and understand. Cons For those of us who aren't HR and tax experts, some better, more explanatory in plain English help is needed. For instance, I'm still not sure I'm doing the S-Corp owners health insurance reimbursements thing correctly. Also, I thought when I changed the bank from which the payroll was being drawn, that I also changed where the monthly fee was drawn...I was wrong. I only had to contact support one time in the past few years and it was nice to talk to a real human who could help me out immediately. Pros This is my second attempt at finding a simple but competent payroll program that I could run myself and more importantly trust the program, Patriot Payroll is perfect for our small business. The other thing that makes me extremely happy is that I don't have to wait on hold to get help for any questions. Customer service has been top notch! Cons I had trouble with the reports for 941's because we are a monthly filer and I can only find a quarterly report offered. Also the sick accrual was confusing because it was a separate thing that had to be added. Lastly, we pay on the 10th of the following month for previous month's work. I could not get patriot to include certain months on my tax reports due to typing in the 10th as my payday. This messed up my reports for a few months and I still have an issue trusting any reports that I ask for. This software has changed our payroll game. It's relatively easy to use and the customer service is amazing when you do need help figuring something out. Cons you can't add or subtract an employee deduction "on the fly" while you are running a payroll. You have to change it in the employee list then go back and run the payroll. What was sometimes hours of work at end of year is now minutes. Each monthly payroll runs smoothly in only a few minutes. Pros Patriot payroll has been a much easier and less expensive product than our last payroll service. We only run payroll on a 1-2 person office. It is easy, quick and understandable to run the payrolls. Payrolls are always correct and I have not had any issues with the software itself. I have had to ask a question or two at the end of year payroll and have always had a very quick response that solved my minor issues. Great product. We will continue to use this service for all of our payroll needs. Cons We were fortunate to not have any problems or concerns with the software. By using the Timekeeping, I've gotten rid of trying to track employees' time by hand which has been a huge relief. Pros The customer service is top-notch. Any time I've had a problem they were easy to reach and the problem was resolved that day. I also love the time card feature. It eliminated keeping track of everyone's time by hand. Cons There isn't anything about them I dislike. They have everything that I need to successfully run payroll. We were supposed to be a very small operation with no employees. They made it easy to have just one employee. We since have added a second location and have hired and released several others. I used to work (operations HR and GM) at a major retailers (several of them) and Patriot is EASIER than any of their systems I have used. Pros Patiot Payroll is a easy self administered payroll who will do all the "back end" work of calculating, deducting and ensuring the deductions get to the correct accounts on time. All we need to do is key the employee info, click finish and print checks. Cons Whats not to like when a company makes a task easy? What I didn't know is that it would give me the flexibility to meet my needs with various compensation strategies to limit tax liability and that the customer service would be outstanding. The one time I had to call, I received a prompt response by a US based representative. Cons Help features are a little clunky, but what I need is there.
