Everything works as it should and I trust we are compliant. Pros Their customer support is excellent -- immediate, professional, and helpful. We use it to manage payroll and they just added a schedule payroll feature which is nice. They make it easy to pay employees and contractors at the same time. Cons I wish it integrated with QBO and that we could have contractors and hourly employees enter their hours directly. March 31, 2026 5.0 I feel the program is set up very well and guides your through setup and use very nicely to run your first payroll and set up employees. Pros Patriot Payroll is very affordable if you have a small firm, and can't spend 700.00 a year for 2 employees. Customer Support is fantastic, and the ease of the program is wonderful. Cons Having to learn another new program, but so far it did not take long to learn how to use the program, it was fairly straight forward. For our small company, nobody offers the level of support - from a real live person - you get with Patriot Payroll Software. Pros The cost. For a one-man LLC/Sub-S with only one employee, Patriot Payroll Software is by far the cheapest and easiest to use. And their customer support is stellar. You always get a live person to help whenever you need support. Cons The lack of a quarterly payroll option. Since we only run payroll quarterly, it would be nice if they had the option for quarterly payroll. As a small business owner, I could not be more pleased. They have always answered any question that I had and walked me through a few processes. Pros Value and customer support. They hand all payroll needs efficiently i cluding tax filings, quarterly reports, etc. When I made an error they were able to correct quickly. Cons At times the site could be more user friendly to navigate. Previous years it took me forever to figure out how to set up a lump sum health benefit. Some functions seem a bit redundant. Doing payroll is simple and couldn't be more efficient. Pros The customer service at Patriot is terrific. They actually answer the phone when you call--you don't have to deal with bots online or FAQs that don't match what you need. Their folks are helpful and courteous. I did reach out to support a couple of times and they were prompt to respond and very helpful. Pros The software makes meeting payroll a breeze. It's a bit of a learning curve for year end tax requirements but I'm figuring it out. Cons I wish you could go back into prior manually entered payrolls and edit them. I made a couple mistakes and couldn't change the information. I had to delete the transaction and create a new one. I was afraid that it would be difficult and time consuming but I was wrong. Cons I can’t currently think of any cons about patio payroll. Unless it’s the fact that don’t offer a done for you payroll service. Otherwise it’s great for our needs. Pros customer service chat is helpful. everybody seems to have gotten paid on time, so thats good. reasonably priced Cons i find the reports confusing. i can never remember the difference between "register" and "details" and whether or not i'm looking at the correct one. sometimes i actually have to write down which one i opened if it's the wrong one to go back and open the correct one. just feels like too many similar reports. i dislike that employee paystubs aren't automatically emailed to employees. paystubs are missing details that i used to have on my old paystubs. we had daily hours, start, end, and lunch, so the employees could see arrival, lunch, finish time adjustments. we also had a section for pto days accumulated, now i have to send them separate reports for that. it is also inconvenient that i have to process the MERIT separately, especially since you seem to be affiliated with vestwell. It is so easy to use and when I have questions, customer support is responsive. No one can beat their pricing. They make payroll easy and I leave as a happy customer each month. Cons Patriot overcharges for the year end filings when you use the basic payroll service. They want $50 for the year end filings so instead I go to Tax1099.com for W-2 and W-3 filings that cost less that $2 each. The payroll management makes it simply to understand and provides reasonable service cost. Pros It's user friendly, I'm able to pull reports immediately that are accurate. There are little to no issues with the software. The customer service support is always available to help. Our company is provided excellent client support. I was worried about missing dates or miscalculating taxes and having expensive fines as a result. Now I have confidence that it’s being taken care of correctly with minimal attention on my part. Pros I am a very small business owner and I have little knowledge about payroll and limited time to spend on it. My Accountant referred me to patriot payroll. I’ve been happily surprised about how user-friendly it is. I’ve only needed Tech Support a couple of times and I was able to talk with a real person who was very responsive. Cons Wish you could send an invite to 1099 vendors to onboard. Still have to do the manual paperwork. Had I have know this I may not have switched to Patriot. Since I have 35 vendors. Wish I could resend invite to "ALL" after the 7 day link expired rather than each one individually. Good customer service with out waiting hours to talk to someone to answer a question. We will see how smoothly quarterly reports are generated. Pros Value for the money for a small business like mine is fantastic! Customer service is a 10 out of 10. Ease of use is excellent Cons I have. Only been using it for 2 months but they boast payroll direct deposit will be made in 4 days door first 3 months. However my only employee has complained that it is not deposited in 4 days which at beginning of the month it creates angst as her rent is due and her landlord is not forgiving!
