March 30, 2022 5.0 Pros I used Patriot Payroll for a couple years for my business before I sold it, once I got the hang of it, it was very easy to use. It would only take me a few minutes every two weeks to run my payroll and they took care of all the tax filing and everything, that was my favorite. Huge time saver. Cons Because it has so many functions and capabilities, it's a little confusing and overwhelming at first, but once you learn your way around it's not too bad. Review Source AK Alisa K. The Quickbooks Online integration was a little tricky, but that's largely because we have a new bookkeeper - not the software itself. Easy to use, the reports/ tax filings packages are great and I have had terrific interaction with support who are always willing to help. Pros I like its ease of use, and reporting tools. Cons I do not like that it takes 4 days lead time for direct deposit. This should definitely be shortened. I would be willing to pay more for a shorter deposit turnaround. January 7, 2021 5.0 Of all the software products I have used over the years, this has easily been the best experience I have had just because of the customer service. Yes, the interface is easy to navigate and quite intuitive. Yes, the design is nice. Yes, the features do what I need them to. But what is often missing in the business world and software world are real people on the other line you actually want you to get what you need. That’s what I have found so far with Patriot. Pros The software does exactly what I need it to automatically. But what’s more impressive is the amount of personal customer care that I have received every time I have called in. I have had representatives sit there patiently on the line helping me figure out all the inns and outs of accounts and linking things up without ever feeling hurried or pressed for time. They simply stayed with me until we got the job done. Adding employees was easy and the guidance excellent. Reports are a snap to run. I get good email updates as well. And your customer service is excellent. I have been give clear and correct instructions numerous times. I was new to payroll management and there was a lot of hand holding. Pros It is easy to use and Logical. Functions are where you would expect them to be. I don't have to drill down to 12 levels to find what I'm looking for. It take me no time to complete the tasks I need to do. It was so easy to migrate to this from our slate and stick former method. And the help is excellent. Cons Nothing. I haven't had any problems that couldn't be easily fixed. January 12, 2021 5.0 More time off, less stress, worry free and I haven't made a mistake since I started with Patriot. Pros After years of doing the payroll myself, I found Patriot and what a relief! I messed up a couple of tax payments by mistake and the cost of this service is far less then what I paid in fines and interest for those mistakes. I highly recommend Patriot for anyone who wants to spend less time doing payroll and more time doing the things you need to do. Honestly, in 5 minutes per payroll and I'm done. Top that! Prior to Patriot, I tried to stay away from payroll as much as possible. Now it is in my tech stack of apps and software that I recommend to new customers and existing customers. It has saved my existing customers considerable payroll costs. One of my customers saved $3000 on workers comp because her previous person was overcharging to "give it back" after the audits. Pros The integration with QuickBooks online is good once you get used to the transactions and how they come in. Once my customers have been set-up, there are few questions and issues to resolve throughout the year. Pretty straight forward for users to run payroll and employees to check paychecks. Cons Integration can take a bit of effort, but switching to new payroll companies moves lots of information. Once set up, it works good. Only issues have been timelines of payroll and dates for checks can be dated out far. Something to watch for when running payroll. As a small business owner, I appreciate the time it saves as well - payroll takes me about a minute to process and is always updated to current tax standards. Cant beat it! Pros We only needed payroll processing for 2 employees as I do the tax filing myself, so Patriot does exactly what we need for an excellent price. Providing this minimum level as a service tier makes it completely affordable for us and the reporting capabilities that come with it are just what we use. Getting set up was fast, and afterward I haven't found the need to use customer support as everything has been user friendly. Cons There isn't anything that I dislike about it. She was rude and uninformed, and had me at my wits' end. I almost gave up on the program because of her. I do wish you provide more help about integrating with QuickBooks. We doubled our staff and payroll frequency and it would have been cost prohibitive to continue with the accountant. After setup, it really is just as simple as it was turning payroll into the accountant. Cons So far, not much to not like. Setup was easy and what wasn't was easily answered by tech support. Pros Patriot was easy to get started with, the interface takes some getting used to, finding where to change settings and ensure payroll and direct deposit are set up correctly. Text and phone support have been exceptional. They are fast to contact and get answers. Cons I wish there was a feature to email my employees their pay stubs or at least a notification that their pay stubs are available for download. Also, not having to produce my own W2's & payroll tax returns saves quite a bit of time. Pros Software is extremely simple if you have a basic payroll that doesn't change much with each processing - other than hours or salary. Cons Having to "Approve" the payroll on the very bottom of the screen has been an issue multiple times. You see the account debit info at the top of the page, but unless you scroll down, the approve button can not be seen - thus forgotten.
