It is simple for me to do my payroll as needed and customer service is available when needed. The price was fair compared to other companies that I looked into as well. Pros I like the simplicity in doing my payroll. For what I need, it works perfect. I have not been in need to really use too many features of the software so I am sure there are other positive things. I just use the software in a very basic way. Cons Sometimes I am not sure if tasks involved are part of Patriot or something I have to stay on top of. At times I have called for certain things and gotten different info from different customer service agents as well. Patriot handles the complexity of remitting taxes to the government entities. For my that is HUGE. Yes I often verify that it in deed has been submitted (something Patriot encourages you to do) Pros It is easy to use...need I say more. That they file all of the necessary tax info to the government. Great customer service if you do have a question. Cons Have really not found any issues is using Reason for choosing Patriot Software I was a new business. Just felt comfortable with the software from the get go. 2 months free was an added bonus . December 1, 2021 5.0 I've used another widely known accounting software program and I am so glad I made the switch a few years ago. Pros The software is easy to use and their support is fast and helpful. Cons It took a little time to figure out how to run reports but that was not a big deal. Once you do it it is easy. They reached out to me while I was setting it up and were able to quickly help me on a couple of items I was unsure about. Pros Software is straightforward and easy to configure. Simple to enter the hours/rates and approve payroll that can be done in a few minutes. Reports are straightforward and helpful. Cons We are a small company that right now only works 9 months a year due to seasonal nature of work. Maybe there is a way to suspend and reduce costs when not needed (IE Dec-Feb). This software really simplified the process down to less than 10 minutes of work. Pros Payroll. When its time to run payroll, it is a simple process. I can add tips, I can add deductions and contributions so easily. And when learning how to do those things, the help section is step by step. Cons I wouldn't call myself a power user, my background is military and I have no familiarity with the administration of pay. That being said, as I learn through a lot of chat sessions (another great feature), my only criticism is the "Reports" section could have some descriptions of what each report primarily provides and a bullet or 2 on secondary benefits / functions / information of what can be generated with that report. MUCH improved with being able to run payroll for 1099 as contractors, not vendors. Cons Frustrating to have a long delay - "bank days" from entering payroll to pay date/direct deposit. Since all electronic transactions, makes no sense that weekends are excluded in that timeframe. We are a small business and don't have huge needs in terms of payroll software, and Patriot offered an affordable solution without sacrificing any features we needed. Cons When we first started using the software we had to contact Patriot at the end of the year to have them add S-Corp owner health insurace payments to W2s manually. But they have since then added this feature to the software, so no longer an issue :) Reason for choosing Patriot Software We chose Patriot in the beginning because it was affordable, but we stuck around because it works so well and the customer support is so helpful. I will be referring them to anyone that has payroll needs and trying to get some of my other clients set up to use them. They are definitely cheaper then other payroll companies and they do all the same things. They work with Worker's Comp, direct deposit, and they submit and pay the payroll Quarterly taxes - full service option. Pros I have to say the customer service. They are friendly, helpful, and very professional. The software is very user friendly and again if you have any questions - call customer service - they will walk you through it!!
