President Construction Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "pretty good, would like to see more features added" March 5, 2026 4.0 not bad. your customer service is your strong suit, especially the quick response time on the chat feature. we do have a few adjustments that have taken a few months to resolve, but i think that will happen shortly. Pros customer service chat is helpful. everybody seems to have gotten paid on time, so thats good. reasonably priced Cons i find the reports confusing. i can never remember the difference between "register" and "details" and whether or not i'm looking at the correct one. sometimes i actually have to write down which one i opened if it's the wrong one to go back and open the correct one. just feels like too many similar reports. i dislike that employee paystubs aren't automatically emailed to employees. paystubs are missing details that i used to have on my old paystubs. we had daily hours, start, end, and lunch, so the employees could see arrival, lunch, finish time adjustments. we also had a section for pto days accumulated, now i have to send them separate reports for that. it is also inconvenient that i have to process the MERIT separately, especially since you seem to be affiliated with vestwell. Patriot was easy to switch to and provided excellent customer support to get set up. Pros Patriot Payroll offered a much better price than the payroll software that I had been using. Everything works as it should and I trust we are compliant. Pros Their customer support is excellent -- immediate, professional, and helpful. We use it to manage payroll and they just added a schedule payroll feature which is nice. They make it easy to pay employees and contractors at the same time. Cons I wish it integrated with QBO and that we could have contractors and hourly employees enter their hours directly. As a small business owner, I could not be more pleased. They have always answered any question that I had and walked me through a few processes. Pros Value and customer support. Cons At times the site could be more user friendly to navigate. Previous years it took me forever to figure out how to set up a lump sum health benefit. Some functions seem a bit redundant. Doing payroll is simple and couldn't be more efficient. Pros The customer service at Patriot is terrific. They actually answer the phone when you call--you don't have to deal with bots online or FAQs that don't match what you need. Their folks are helpful and courteous. I was worried about missing dates or miscalculating taxes and having expensive fines as a result. Now I have confidence that it’s being taken care of correctly with minimal attention on my part. Pros I am a very small business owner and I have little knowledge about payroll and limited time to spend on it. My Accountant referred me to patriot payroll. I’ve been happily surprised about how user-friendly it is. I’ve only needed Tech Support a couple of times and I was able to talk with a real person who was very responsive. In this day and time there are a lot of companies that will over sell and under deliver. Patriot seems to under sell and over deliver. Pros I can't say enough about this company. After having some shockingly bad experiences with a couple of other companies, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience with Patriot software. Customer support is awesome. It is quick to get a person on the phone and all are very knowledgeable. We are a small business and they have been very helpful in onboarding our business. Excellent value for the money. Simple user interface. Allows for different types of access and the direct deposit integration is seamless. Great product and great customer service. Cons Nothing negative to say at all. Only been using it for 2 months but they boast payroll direct deposit will be made in 4 days door first 3 months. However my only employee has complained that it is not deposited in 4 days which at beginning of the month it creates angst as her rent is due and her landlord is not forgiving! Pros Ease of use and setup. The customer service team is extremely helpful even for the simple questions. I love the simplicity of the integrated timecard program, it make the processing even easier. Cons The only complaint I have is when there is a change on one person and it is found after the hours have been entered for everyone and you have to start over to make that change.
