It is nice that they continue to add new useful features such as the ability to pay contractors now. Pros Easy to use. Takes little time to crank out my payroll now! Cons Integration with quickbooks desktop and with HomeBase timeclock to automatically import hours. Reason for choosing Patriot Software Value for the service. Employees gets access to update their info anytime, anywhere. Pros You have access to you pay stubs are able to print whenever you need them without having to deal with HR. Cons My employer has been using this system for over 3 years. I can only remember 1 issue where I was not able to clock out at the end of my shift. It’s the most user friendly software that exists after researching several different payroll options. We can generate all kinds of reports we need. Patriot also pays the employee Federal taxes , State taxes, social security taxes, workforce commission dues, and files all the necessary reports to the different Agencies. It’s the best payroll we have worked with, and we have tried about 5 others prior to switching over to . Pros easy to use, inexpensive and easy for my employees to access their own information Cons 1\. when I was out of the country it used the time zone where i was to determine I was too late to submit payroll. It was 6pm in London and noon here and I missed payroll. 2. I have found no way to generate a bonus check in addition to a regular payroll check and need to combine all wages on 1 check. 3. The 5 day requirement for payroll submission which has nothing to do with tax collection, but I believe is how you generate revenue. This was always my worst day of the year, as a small business owner to print out 40 W-2 forms and 1099 forms, it was painful but now we are done in less than 5 minutes. Cons I can't say there are many downfalls but I would say that it could be more customer friendly to help with out of state employees and all the documentation needed for them. Once you make mistake, it's not easy to fix it. I think because of this drawback, I won't choose the software until I see the improvement. Pros The speed of the software is good comparing with Intuit payroll online. The customer service is quick and friendly. The web page layout is clean and easy to find what you need. The price is very affordable. Cons 1\. Takes 4 days to do direct deposit. So, it's not practical for many businesses. It leaves no time for the employers to gather the payroll information. It also put lots of pressure to the payroll processor like myself to get all the work done on Monday in order to meet Friday pay date. 2. The software is very rigid. It expects people makes no mistakes. Depends on what mistake you make during difference period of payroll, you have to void the whole payroll or get the customer service involved. A simple "Edit" function is not available. 3. For direct deposit option, the employees do not get any notification that the paycheck will be in your account at the certain day. Unlike Intuit payroll, you can click a bottom and emails will be sent directly to the employees. 4. For reimbursement for the employee, you can't simply enter a number in the payroll input screen. You need to change the employee's sitting and input the number there. Once you pay the employee, you need to remember to delete it otherwise the employee will get the reimbursement again. We run a small business and Patriot Payroll allows us to focus on our business not on payroll. We are a full subscription member and could not be more satisfied. All our taxes are pulled and filed for us so we don't have to worry about that. I would highly recommend Patriot Payroll and we will be a customer for life. Cons My least favorite part of Patriot is when you are entering payroll, and there are some items that are paid once a month, every time you do payroll you have to take those repetitive items out if it's not the first of the month payroll. I can sign into Patriot and see reports on employee payroll, W2 information, taxes, etc. It is great. Patriot completes my quarterly and annual tax filings for state and federal so I don't have to worry about it. Pros We are a small business and needed an economical way to keep up with payroll, government taxes and reporting, and record keeping. Customer service has been very good any time I have had a question it has been answered satisfactorily. Cons I had no problem getting started, made a phone call and got customer support right away.
