Also, that they file my quarterly tax returns is a huge help. Just wish that it wasn't so expensive. Cons The cost prohibits me from using on a monthly basis. I now have to use it once a quarter. I've been using it for about 5 months. The customer service is great! They are very helpful and I am never waiting long to reach someone. The software is easy to use also. However, I am disappointed that there is not system to notify employees when a paycheck is available. I was not aware of this until an employee notified me. This seems like a basic component so I assumed a notification system was in place. I was very surprised to learn this was not happening, and also that there seems to be no plans in place by Patriot to add this. There is also no Mobile App for employees to use, which is also disappointing. Pros Ease of use. Cost. Customer Service. Assistance with set up was very good. Easy navigation. Tracks important employee dates and information Cons No notification to employee when a paycheck is sent. Employees do not see pay stubs unless you print them or they know to login and review. Review Source Response from Patriot Software November 10, 2017 Thanks for your review Marc, I wanted to let you know that our software and employee portal are both "responsive design" which means you can use it on mobile phones or tablets without the need to download an app. The benefits of a responsive design include updates to the software are automatic without additional downloads and it doesn't take up precious memory on your mobile device! Hiring Patriot was the BEST move I made in my business. They handle all aspects of my payroll and I am very happy ! Pros This software is easy to use. The interface is clear, concise and has helpful hints available if needed. The support personnel are easily reached by chat or phone. They are knowledgeable, professional and courteous. I hate to admit it, I needed so much help.... I know them on a first name basis! Cons The setup process is intense and has many steps. We have been with them for a little over 3 years and have had no issues. I am not as computer savvy as most people but they have a great support system and easy to contact. Pros Their customer service is good and the software is pretty easy to use. Their pricing is also reasonable. Cons It can be difficult moving from a different accounting program to this one. My accountant had been doing it previously and warned about dangers of tracking filings, but using the full-service model, I've found that Patriot made things much easier. Cons The payment delay had been frustrating, but they recently rolled out a new feature where a portion of payroll could be accelerated at no cost, which solved the issue for us! Pros Patriot Softward has the most educated and kind respresentative to help with all of my questions and needs. I typically am not a payroll person, and didnt need to be as they helped with montly and yearly filings and forms. Great company! You don't have to wait on hold hardly at all! They get back with you immediately. I have to say the Customer Service is the Greatest! I've not had a bad experience at all. Pros Everything about the program is easy. If I have a question about something, I can call or email and get it resolved immediately. I can take full control of my Payroll or have Patriot do it for me. Cons Nothing that I can think of............. It also has the W2s and all the necessary reports that I need. It only takes me 5 minutes to do payroll including saving the pay stubs and time sheets in the employees folders on my computer. So, it makes life more simple. Pros The thing that I liked the most about the software was the price. That got me to sign up. Once I was signed up, I love how easy and quick it is to pay employees and retrieve reports. Cons I am not very experienced in HR because I haven't had employees for very long. Pros Customer Service is always helpful, and they are very easy to access. The system is very easy to use and implement, I have never had an issue with incorrect tax filings like I have with other softwares, and they turn W2s out so quickly. I also love that each employee can have access to their own portal. Cons Reminders to run payroll but a cutoff date would be helpful. Pros Very easy to process payroll through. For the money a good deal compared to other programs out there. Cons Is it possible to file tax returns more timely? Quarter ends don't go out until the very end of the filing window but the info is often needed sooner. Also the direct deposit window seems long. I believe there is about a 5 day window needed from submitting to paying the employees? Reason for choosing Patriot Software I had heard of the solution via advertising.
