Pros It is very easy to use. I can usually do our (small staff) payroll in a few minutes. I inherited this system when I started the job a few months ago. I wanted to track PTO, and it was easy to figure out. Cons It is easy to miss the final submit button. Bonus for being able to understand everyone that assists you. Double bonus for never being transferred to someone else to answer your questions and being guided through your system. I've processed four payrolls with one of our companies and one with the other. Never have regretted my decision to us Patriot! Pros Ease of processing payroll and extremely polite, knowledgeable personnel that help EVERYTIME I call. Unlike the "big company" software, Patriot software eliminates the unnecessary random features that are allegedly included in the price but are never used by a small businesses. Cons So far, I am struggling finding anything. Cons The last release solve my biggest issue- being able to set payroll dates for the upcoming year. I would like to run payroll for several months in advance and not get the nag screen. The website is laid out well and easy to find what I am looking for. Pros We have used the system for around 5 years and find it easy to understand and use. I also like that I can reach the support staff in a reasonable time and get quality answers to my questions. Cons Only complaint would be the cost. Nice to have a service that won't crush you in fees. Pros I like the user-friendliness of this product. You do not have to have much payroll experience to be able to use this product. If there is something you can not figure out, the customer service rep will help quickly and efficiently. It is definitely a good value for the amount they charge. I would recommend to anyone looking for a company that won't break the bank. Cons There are some functions that are not available with this software, which can be done with other companies. Sometimes that is agitating knowing something can be done if we were with another company. But I guess there will be some things missing at such an affordable monthly price point. You have to weigh your options. Also, since they service every state, sometimes I question their advice for my state - specifically. So, a little extra research may need to be done on your part. Pros Ease of use once viewing the videos and addressing some learning curves with customer service. Cons I signed up thinking that your top tier payroll service would auto debit regular same pay payroll by setting up the pay schedules. I learned that this feature is not yet available after switching to you guys, and I have to remember to physically log in and "approve payroll" 4-5 days in advance, so it reaches my employees bank on their pay date. This is the only negative I have experienced, but an IMPORTANT one. Sales people were not pushy like Paychex. When I talked to the Paychex people one sales person said he couldn't help me because another coworker talked to a different sales person. Pros I like that their customer service is so friendly and easy to get a hold of. Payroll is easy to run once everything is set up. Our state payroll taxes are complicated and Patriot seems to handle them particularly well. Cons The 4-day direct deposit lead time is a little difficult to get used to, especially after using a different program with 2-day direct deposit for 11 years. It can definitely have a bigger impact on our cash-flow. I do wish some of the payroll reports were in the same area as where you run payroll so that I don't have to jump back and forth to get all the information for 941 deposits. This is an excellent fit for SMB's. I I highly recommend Patriot Software. Pros When I've ran into roadblocks getting set up and called, the service reps have been so professional. They're patient, they find a way to relate to you and make you feel at ease. They'll stay on the line as long as you need them. They provide excellent service! Cons No being able to go back and edit information. If a situation has changed the previous information may now be irrelevant but you can't change it. Maybe down the road I'll better understand why.
