The are so patient when I contact them and if I don't understand something, they walk me through things so that I have a better understanding! Pros It is ALWAYS so easy to reach a payroll expert when I either call or do the chat Cons I honestly can't think of a thing. I have had to use the chat numerous times over the course of a several year span since we started with Patriot and have NEVER had a bad experience! If I needed help they would answer clearly. Pros The customer service is great every time I talked to them. They would always answer my questions with clarity. Cons A few times I did not know the correct way to do something and there was not clear directions in what I needed to do. My example is that I didn't know that I need to file federal taxes twice a month but I didn't even know that was a thing. I got a letter from the IRS for doing it wrong. Pros Patriot Payroll is very easy to use and user friendly. I also love the customer service and prompt responses to questions. Cons It would be great if PTO was automatically applied in the payroll period that the approval was set for. I don’t like remembering to manually enter it for the given pay period. It logs PTO and time-off accruel in an easy to see format, and makes the whole process of adding hours for my staff of 45 saves me hours of work. Pros I like how it updates guidelines and alerts based on changes in State legislature for benefits/time-off that way I do not have to go implement the changes myself. Cons The layer upon layer upon layer of security features makes it cumbersome for making changes to an employees profile/account information. Some aspects cannot be changed by the administrator and only by the employee (ie banking information). Every time I call in to patriot payroll support they take care of me right away and explain things very thoroughly. Pros Quick Response time when calling in to speak with support about payroll issues or if I have questions regarding payroll Cons The only thing I can think of is the inability to enter prior payroll and the Back up log on patriot support doing payroll amendments. I really appreciate the customer service and that they can remotely control my PC to show me how it is done. Pros Patriot gave me the best price available and I needed the least expensive I could find for my new business. Cons It took me a long time to set up because I was unfamiliar with the terms used and where to find the information. So the free trial was not a free trial only a free set up. Pros The pricing is very affordable and customer service is great! Cons They cannot offer tax advice—understandably so-which means you have to navigate employers law on your own or consult a CPA, but the cost savings for our tiny practice are worth it! There system is full of free how-to articles and “flags” that help you avoid potential problems with federal and state taxes. Pros Great customer service and support all around. The web portal is very intuitive to use and navigate as well. Cons Could use better workflows for determining specific tax withholding dates when running payroll. It could be more clear upfront what to expect as far as exact amounts of tax to be withheld as well as dates that the different types of tax payments will be pulled. Cons When processing a transaction to categorize it is a little clunky, but I may need to make a small change my descriptions. Would never go back to other over priced software. Pros The ease of setting up our employees all their information and the ease of setting up our taxes to be taken out as well as having our taxes paid by Patriot. Cons when trying to set up contributions to an employee was a little difficult to understand. We needed to add housing for our pastor and its non taxable so we had to add it in another way. Pros Patriot Accounting easily was adaptable to me needs and offers an easy usable system to manage my “books”. Cons I suppose it was the learning curve. I used another product for a few years so when I first began using Patriot Accounting there was a learning curve that I had to work through. It wasn’t actually difficult, I just needed to slow down and think through the process. Cons I wish there was some other bookkeeping features like being able to search and select certain transactions and categorize them all at the same time if they are the same thing. I also think that notifications when the bank accounts get disconnected would be helpful. I just thought this was too hard for me to do myself. After switching to Patriot payroll software, it was like a breath of fresh air. The customer service people were WONDERFUL and I felt like this was doable. Now that it is all set up, it is so easy. IF I need help, they are there! Cons The only con that I have about Patriot Payroll is that I didn't find your software first before trying another brand. Bonus for being able to understand everyone that assists you. Double bonus for never being transferred to someone else to answer your questions and being guided through your system. I've processed four payrolls with one of our companies and one with the other. Never have regretted my decision to us Patriot! Customer service answered any questions I had quickly and they knew the answer right away, making the change over very easy. Pros The layout of the software makes it easy to use. We transitioned from intuit online payroll and Patriot software is much easier to use. Also, the customer service is quick and friendly when you have any questions. I can run tax reports quick and easy. Cons The only issue I have had was establishing an employee as a commission only that changes on a monthly basis, but I have found a way around it.
