Pros It is very easy to use. I can usually do our (small staff) payroll in a few minutes. I inherited this system when I started the job a few months ago. I wanted to track PTO, and it was easy to figure out. Cons It is easy to miss the final submit button. Easy to use features such as adding payroll deductions and calculating retirement plan company matching calculations. Pros Easy set-up, great ongoing customer support for full service payroll services. Timely, courteous & knowledgeable team members. Always willing to assist with any questions, tax updates, etc. Cons Would like to see ad hoc report options for special projects within the company; this would also be helpful for company expense analysis & projections. However, when downloading current report options to Excel, data is still reasonably easy to access and use! " February 17, 2025 5.0 The times I have called on the phone have been very helpful and answered quickly. Pros The PRICE!! We were paying way more with Quicken. Also, I love that the time management goes directly to the payroll. Cons The only "con" which really isn't one is learning to find the reports I have been used to with Quicken. I appreciate the support. I like that my employees can follow an email link to set up their account for automatic deposit and to enter all of their information in themselves. I do get lost in all of the different links and don't know how to tell what to do next or where to find information. But the support team is always very helpful. Pros Once you get everything set up, running payroll is very quick and easy. Also, I am not an accountant, and not everything was intuitive to me, but when I have a question, the support team is always super helpful and very clear. Cons I am not an accountant, but I did not feel like the set up was very intuitive. I wasn't sure where I was in the process, or even when I was done. I got emails later telling me I had not finished with the tax set up because I could not tell when I was going through the process that I was not done yet. On the other hand, I did receive an email informing me that I was not done yet, so I did appreciate that. It's good to know the system has checks in place for people like me. There were fewer bells and whistles, so I could get a product simple enough for our small business. I liked the online personality, and the reviews. It seemed more friendly and personal and helpful. Patriot answers all questions without waiting or being transferring around. The program is easy to adjust to when moving from a different product. Cons Can't think of a thing. Patriot Accounting Easy to use Switched from [QuickBooks Online](https://www.capterra.com/p/190778/QuickBooks-Online/) Completely frustrated. Spent over 18 hours trying to get the program up and running. This was supposed to be, an easy transfer from QuickBooks Desk Top. Then It tool months and more calls to drop their service. Pros Patriot Payroll is very easy to use and the support staff answers the phone and your questions promptly. Unlike the "big company" software, Patriot software eliminates the unnecessary random features that are allegedly included in the price but are never used by a small businesses. Cons So far, I am struggling finding anything. The support was what kept me from leaving. Cons When I did consider pausing the service, it was not possible. Small businesses need this during slow business times. It gives me the reports I need to file with the various government entities that are required. Pros It is easy to use once it is set up the first time. It is more affordable than QuickBooks Payroll. Cons I did not know it would automatically transfer the paychecks to Patriot Accounting. I wanted to do a manual transfer from the bank account. This is an excellent fit for SMB's. I I highly recommend Patriot Software. Pros When I've ran into roadblocks getting set up and called, the service reps have been so professional. They're patient, they find a way to relate to you and make you feel at ease. They'll stay on the line as long as you need them. They provide excellent service! Cons No being able to go back and edit information. If a situation has changed the previous information may now be irrelevant but you can't change it. Maybe down the road I'll better understand why. It's truly a great product and I would definitely recommend this product to other small business users. Pros The ease of use and great customer service. I also love the value for the money and the great walk through videos for the set up. Cons Cannot think of anything at the moment. Maybe the dashboard could use some help. The website is laid out well and easy to find what I am looking for. Pros We have used the system for around 5 years and find it easy to understand and use. I also like that I can reach the support staff in a reasonable time and get quality answers to my questions. Cons Only complaint would be the cost. April 19, 2025 4.0 Customer service is great and the software is also great, except for having to log in each week and approve direct deposit payroll. Pros Ease of use once viewing the videos and addressing some learning curves with customer service. Cons I signed up thinking that your top tier payroll service would auto debit regular same pay payroll by setting up the pay schedules. I learned that this feature is not yet available after switching to you guys, and I have to remember to physically log in and "approve payroll" 4-5 days in advance, so it reaches my employees bank on their pay date. This is the only negative I have experienced, but an IMPORTANT one. Sales people were not pushy like Paychex. When I talked to the Paychex people one sales person said he couldn't help me because another coworker talked to a different sales person. Pros It;s very easy to navigate it and pricing is also affordable. with being overwhelming it covers all the features like billing, expenses and reports.Payroll integration makes our work easier and it's a good fit for small buinesses. Cons it's limited integrations with other software and lack of advanced features like multi-currency and inventory. MObile access is basic and all the things make it harder to use for growing businesses.
