Pros It is easy to use and works well for me since I am a small employer. This cost is a big factor for me. Cons I've had some issues early on in doing payroll for a fixed dollar amount, rather than hourly, until I found the button that opened up more options for payroll. It was way too much for just a simple one man business like myself. I left and came to Patriot looking for a simpler solution. Pros the payroll function was easy to use. as an S corp, I am a one man show, so it's important that i'm not overloaded with necessary steps. Cons For me there still seemed to be a lot of options and features on the front page that I didn't need. It got me a bit overwhelmed but because the simplest path was the payroll option, i was okay. I needed some assistance during the setup, and used the chat support function, which was great. Pros There are so many reasons I like Patriot Payroll. The price point compared to others is great for a small business. The tools to required to work with QB Pro Desktop is sufficient for my needs. Cons Not sure I have tried using all the resources potentially at my disposal, so I do not have dislikes at the monent. And when they say 30 day free trial they mean it. No hassles every! Pros I love the simplicity of the system and the personal help when I have an issue. The support staff are not just people hired to answer the phones but people with bookkeeping experience who are proficient with the program. Cons The only thing I miss from using other platforms is the bank account layout as a register, but I am adjusting to seeing the general ledger for that. I moved my entire payroll business over at the beginning of the year. It was a lot of work, but now that it's done, the process is seamless. I would work with their Customer Service team any day of the week. They're the best I've worked with in any industry, honestly. Pros Their customer service. Hands down the best I've worked with anywhere. They genuinely listen to my concerns and ask questions that tell me they want to provide what I need. And I like that they're always looking for input to make an even better product. Cons Switching from QB Desktop was a struggle. QB is the gold standard as their product is incredibly easy to use, but their prices are driving people away. So, it wasn't really a Patriot issue, more of my own as I learned a new system. Business Manager Computer Software Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "Solid Product with Great Customer Service" December 18, 2024 4.0 It took a fair amount of work to move everything over from our old system, but customer support was always very friendly and easy to get a hold of when I needed them. Pros I like that their customer service is so friendly and easy to get a hold of. Payroll is easy to run once everything is set up. Our state payroll taxes are complicated and Patriot seems to handle them particularly well. Cons The 4-day direct deposit lead time is a little difficult to get used to, especially after using a different program with 2-day direct deposit for 11 years. It can definitely have a bigger impact on our cash-flow. I do wish some of the payroll reports were in the same area as where you run payroll so that I don't have to jump back and forth to get all the information for 941 deposits. Easy to do payroll, run reports and do year-end tasks. Support is readily available and very helpful in getting things resolved when having questions. Pros Ease of learning the program and integration into QuickBooks desktop. Cons Not really a con, but took a little time to set up taxes and setting up accounts to integrate into QuickBooks. Nice to have a service that won't crush you in fees. Pros I like the user-friendliness of this product. You do not have to have much payroll experience to be able to use this product. If there is something you can not figure out, the customer service rep will help quickly and efficiently. It is definitely a good value for the amount they charge. I would recommend to anyone looking for a company that won't break the bank. Cons There are some functions that are not available with this software, which can be done with other companies. Sometimes that is agitating knowing something can be done if we were with another company. But I guess there will be some things missing at such an affordable monthly price point. You have to weigh your options. Also, since they service every state, sometimes I question their advice for my state - specifically. So, a little extra research may need to be done on your part. Pros Going from Quickbooks Desktop to the Online Patriot Software has been easy even for the novice Accounting person as I am. Even when I just have a simple question because I am unsure of something, they are always so kind and helpful, never making me feel less because my question may be "dumb". Pros Patriot's customer service is HANDS DOWN the BEST customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Every single person I have ever talked to has been helpful and kind! Their software is also super user friendly! Cons I can't really say that I have anything that I dislike. I have run into an issue with one of my client's (based on their service industry), but even with the problem at hand, Patriot has been amazing at coming up with interim solutions while they work on a permanent fix. I dislike the issue, but really can't complain since they are rectifying it!
