Brand and Web Designer Graphic Design Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Easy Setup, Great Features, and Outstanding Customer Support" September 6, 2024 5.0 Its a great product with an easy to use website, great features and even better customer service. When I had some problems setting up an employee they were able to take over my screen with a screen sharing software and find the problem quickly. They also showed me how to run my first payroll in real time was super helpful and left me feeling confident. Adding employees to your business is already nerve racking and having someone show me how to pay my employee correctly was wonderful. Pros The ease of setting up my account then having Patriot automatically pay my state unemployment tax and federal tax as well. It's one less thing I have to worry about. I also love how I just have to approve payroll without having to manually enter anything. The price is very reasonable as well which is definitely appreciated since everything is subscription now a days. Plus, the $75 referral bonus for both parties is an excellent perk! Patriot Accounting is top notch with that. The interface is also pretty simple and I feel confident that if I run into any issues (usually my fault) their live representatives will help me! Pros U.S. Based. Private company, US based support with very clear English. Amazing live support so I learn that way. I can afford it and I feel I get a very high quality service. Cons Some items won’t transfer from my American Express statement and it is a bit confusing how to add/remove items. Journal is a bit confusing. But the live help is amazing and I learn more each time I call. Cons Having my payroll taxes withheld at the time of entering payroll vs when the tax payment is actually due. Very thorough and helpful customer service reps who knew what they were doing, and were very pleasant to talk with. Pros The customer service. \[sensitive content hidden\] and another gal were great. They spent as much time as I needed to help me walk through all the necessary steps. And very nice. Cons It's pretty complex, and I think the items could be better organized throughout the website. Pros It's much less expensive, and simpler that Quickbooks. I was able to get a live person on the phone when I needed support. Cons I've had issues entering vacation hours because my employees accrue vacation every 2 weeks. Pros I liked the price. We are a small company and I didn't want to pay crazy amounts for something that I had been doing on an excel spreadsheet for free but as we were growing I knew I needed something a bit more stream lined and Patriots was what we needed. I love that I can invoice and the customer can pay online and now with ACH payments my % of fees is lower. Cons Accounting is backwards so it took me a moment to figure out how to input journal entries but customer service helped me with that task. That's more of a me thing and a compliment to you. I always talk to a person within the first 5 minutes of making a call for assistance. I cannot think of a call I've made over the year and 1/2 of using Patriot that my question or situation was not resolved by the end of the phone call. That has not been the case with another payroll company I was using previous to Patriot. Pros I am most thankful to have a smaller payroll company to be working with that really seems to care about customer service and helping their clientele when starting out using Patriot and over the year that I have used them. They are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful every time I have called. I have spent hours on the phone with another much larger company without resolution to problems I was having. I dreaded having to call the previous company knowing I would be on hold for long periods of time and perhaps not get my issue resolved. Patriot gets me to the right person to talk to without long hold times and any question gets answered by the end of the call. Cons During the initial use time - first few payroll processing - there is a longer time of processing for payroll. That is a necessary & understandable caution on their end when dealing with a new business. It was a bit challenging, but is only for the first few payroll processing times. It is a minimal inconvenience to have a better company to deal with when questions arise. Switched from [QuickBooks Payroll](https://www.capterra.com/p/174981/QuickBooks/) Cost, long phone wait times & lack of resolution to problems were the 3 main reasons we switched to Patriot. Our previous payroll processor was much more expensive to use and much less helpful whenever I had reason to have to call them with a question or problem.
