Pros: Daylite doesn't seem to differentiate between B2B or B2C. You can add appointments, tasks, notes, email, pipelines, etc to people, or businesses. You can add single tasks, activity sets (groups of tasks, appointments etc) or pipelines (stages with groups of tasks, appointments etc. within each stage). Whether you are managing a sales cycle or a project, data entry is minimal. I love that with one click, all our carefully considered steps can be applied to any situation, whether it's a sales cycle or the projects that result from a sale. Combinations are possible and I'm confident that no step is overlooked or omitted and they pop up at exactly the right time. Customization of the task list or pipeline task set is also possible "on the fly".

Their service is unbelievable. I haven't had a lot of interaction with Daylite support over the 12 years I've been using Daylite, but the followup I recently received for questions I had offered service at a level to which I would like to become accustomed! I had support sending me emails some days later asking if everything was okay - not an automated survey question, but someone in support that actually cares! When do you ever get that level of service? A big thank you!

Cons: I don't use Opportunities for prospects since it's not possible to convert an Opportunity (and everything recorded & saved) to a Contact. I set up any prospect as a full contact then tag them with a category of Prospect. I then set up a smart list that displays all contacts that have a category of Prospects.

Also, it would be great if PC users could access Daylite too. Not everyone on the team uses a Mac.

Pros: Daylite allows me to integrate all aspects of my day into two portals (email & Daylite). Daylite email integration, combined with (Calendar, Tasks, Team, Projects, Opportunities, Forms, et al) allows me to work inside one interface for all my needs.

The email integration is my favorite piece. I can action any email for a thought, idea, task, appointment, note and numerous other uses, without having to copy/paste, forward or otherwise transfer information.

Instead of managing multiple softwares (Outlook, Project, Sales Force, etc) I can follow pipelines, workflows, activity sets, and send merged mailings all from one portal, tracked to each person or company. I am a HUGE Fan.

Cons: The only functionality I could ask for is to integrate an email app into Daylite which would make the process complete. Other than that, Daylite Cloud has been indispensable to running my business, managing my team, and growing revenue.

Overall: It's the most fully integrated software that allows me to manage all aspects of my business (less accounting). I love the integrated functions of; Calendar, Task Management, Project Management, Sales Opportunity Tracking, Data collection and analysis, robust Contact Management.

These features, combined with the email integration piece, allows me to quickly turn an email into a; Task, Calendar event, note, idea, or just save to an associated project, opportunity, company or individual file.

Daylite is an indispensable part of my day and essential to running and growing my business.

Pros: When I realized my peace, sanity, and time were worth protecting and was fed up with complaining to my wife about a piece of garbage software I was currently using, I did not have a solution to replace it with. I had no knowledge about Marketcircle's Daylite. It wasn't until I threw the gauntlet down that there had to be something for the Mac that was serious for running my small business did I discover my new-found love.

I have scars from using other programs. That¿s how bloody it got, how costly. But for a precious fraction of the cost with Daylite, I have peace like a river flowing out of my personal and professional commitments. I am in control. Thank you, Marketcircle!

This year marks my 11th anniversary with my new love, Daylite. She has been so good to me. She is flexible, customizable, expandable, able to take on new tasks and projects without fuss. It's been a peaceful 11 years since our new relationship began, and God forbid that I would do anything intentionally to harm that relationship.

It wasn't long after being introduced to Daylite that her hidden capabilities came into view. The more time I spent with her, the more I became grateful for her creator. "You mean this company fosters feedback from the experience I am having with their prize creation? You mean I can have a hand in the engineering enhancements beyond what she is doing for me today? This is phenomenal!¿

Cons: When I select an object and create "New Appointment" from that object, the title field for the Appointment should automatically be populated.

Phone support, when needed, would upgrade Marketcircle on par with companies of excellence like Apple, Bluehost, and Cannon. There's always room for improvement in service to the customer.

Overall: Phenomenal control over all my data, commitments, opportunities, and projects. I now excel at staying on top of my commitments. Fewer things on my mind due to Daylite's automation features. I manage both my business and family life with Daylite an integrated solution for information management.

Pros: Rich linking -- My ADHD mind isn't deficient in attention - it makes rich connections. Daylite allows me to do that, too. If I think an association is important to capture, Daylite lets me do that. Many other CRM's force an association model on me. I like it that Daylite allows me to make the associations that make sense for me because it let's me later view different perspectives of those links -- everything (yes, everything) that's relevant to a person, an appointment, a note, an opportunity. If I think that's an important as it's top-of-mind, I capture that relationship for later use.

Integrated with native Mail.app -- It's great to link mail to sales opportunities (and people, and tasks and appointment, and projects) all without leaving mail. Then, when I'm back in DL, all that mail shows up when it's relevant. I don't have to go searching through INBOX.

Customer service -- World class. I wouldn't doubt if I were in the top 1% of customers requesting support. I've contacted them A LOT! I always get personal, courteous, expert responses. That's rare. I value that deeply.

Apple first -- The interface does not make concessions to Windows look-and-feel or UX. Yeah! As an Apple-only user, that suits my thinking and muscle memory just fine!

Underdogs -- I feel like I'm part of a movement -- an all-apple CRM that kicks butt for usability and productivity.

Cons: * Beyond-expert-level features and keybindings. Marketcircle is small, and doesn't (yet) have the customer base to get to the kinds of features that my power-user toolsmith mindset would want. For example, some actions require use of a mouse, and I'm a HUGE fan of keeping my fast fingers on the keyboard. That's a nit to pick, but it's the kind of detail that comes from a larger customer base.

Missing - a browser-based (or API) interface -- There are some times that I just don't have my phone or MacBook with me. It would be nice to use any-old-browser. Ah... the tradeoffs for being tightly coupled to Apple-only devices (BTW... See "pros" for same issue).

Overall: * Contact and Calendar on steroids! Rich linking to capture the rich relationships that really exist in the real world.
* Project/task management
* Opportunity management for an extended job search. This could not have happened via a spreadsheet, contrary to job coach advice. A job search is too rich to be 2-dimensional.
* Native Apple look-and-feel, and UX.
* Tracking multiple opportunities in my job search pipeline.
* Integration to email. It just fits in the tools I use every day.

Pros: Daylite is robust but not overly complicated. The customization aspect is excellent. Our team loves using it for a myriad of reasons including - customization of reports, the plugins from IOSxpert - they are fantastic(!), the mobile version on iphone is completely wired in an user friendly, the new team-view features are superb as we are all able to help deliver on tasks and projects when it counts, the user interface is very clean and organized, the calendar integration with iCal and Google is excellent, the smart lists for projects and opportunities are totally functional and help speed up large scale project accessability while connecting team members...and the list goes on. I particularly like the option of dragging up the most pressing opportunities and project to the top tool bar and having them right at my fingertips.

We also integrate Merlin Project into the larger projects and it's compatibility is excellent. There is a bit of learning curve but once our team took the time to dig in and get under the hood of the cross functionality, it only made our project management easier. In fact, I would say that through Daylite, we have come to sell our project management skills and realize this vertical as a profit center for our small company.

Honestly, Daylite is a game-changer. Congratulations on all that you have accomplished and we look forward to continued roll-outs and developments.

Cons: Need to continue improving Apple mail to Daylite and it would be great to have a slack-like messaging component. Probably the biggest 'want' is the ability to output to word and excel in some capacity. Daylite will output to excel in a very limited fashion - it works, but it could be smoother. I realize that this 'ask' would probably require licensing from Microsoft in some capacity and it may be cost prohibitive.

Otherwise, Daylite is a fantastic platform for Apple shops. We have been using it since 2012.

Pros: It is tightly integrated with Apple hardware and software, so it just works the way that you need and expect it to. This is a truly full-featured CRM/project management system/opportunity tracking system that is capable of the configurations, customizations, and integrations of systems that cost 3-4 times as much.

Cons: The blessing and the curse is that it is Mac-only. That makes it able to work as well as you'd expect a native Mac app to work, but it obviously limits your hardware choice and eliminates the possibility of sharing the CRM cross-platform. The performance and stability gains are well worth it in my opinion, but it is nonetheless a limitation.

Overall: My use case: small consulting firm that has been in business for 3 years. We use Daylite for customer relationship management, project & task management, calendar/resource management, as an applicant tracking system for our executive recruitment line of business, opportunity tracking, correspondence, etc.

Prior to using Daylite, we ran the Salesforce platform and if you are willing to commit to the Apple/Mac ecosystem, Daylite is simply so much better than anything else that we have tried for the variety of tasks above. Not only was our previous solution almost 3x the cost, it was much more difficult to use, to customize, and to generate employee buy-in to actually use the system.

Because this is a Mac-only product, it integrates extremely well and any Mac user will find it very intuitive. The data is in the cloud, but the application sits on my machine. This allows for the excellent reliability and off-line usability of a desktop application with the security, standardization, and data-recovery benefits of the cloud.

Obviously, because it is Mac-only, I can't get a seat for one of my partners/contractors unless either they or I am willing to invest to get them into the Apple ecosystem. Not a problem internally for my company, but it is a limitation that can best be described as the blessing and curse of Daylite. I am certain that if it was a web-based or cross-platform software, it would not integrate as tightly and there would be more performance issues. Its not something that I consider a fatal flaw as I am fully invested in the Apple ecosystem, but is a limitation for scalability.

In the few instances where I have had a support issue come up, I'd place MarketCircle's support team right at the top of software support teams that I have ever dealt with. They spend the time necessary to understand the problem, find the solution, and communicate fully and quickly. What more can you ask for?

If you are looking for a small/medium-sized business CRM that (for my use case) far exceeds the usability and functionality of Salesforce at a fraction of the cost, and you are committed the the Apple ecosystem, I cannot recommend Daylite highly enough.

Pros: Daylite makes it very easy to track every project on my desk. I am a one woman company, working on a number of projects at any one given time and it could so easily be chaos without Daylite. Being able to view emails and documents within projects, as well as the ability to add notes is essential. Since I moved to a Cloud account it has been even better. Very reliable and easy to keep up to date while on the move. There is a lot that is customisable of which I only use a small amount, however that may change as I make use of the tutorials available. The calendar syncs across with ease and the 'Home' page is an essential tool, giving a clear view of the days appointments and tasks. Much of the software is customisable.

Cons: I am always seeking ways to work 'smarter' and thus save time. I would love it if there was a little more functionality so that I could input information on the Project page that would automatically populate a custom sheet in, say, reports. That would save me a huge amount of time. Being able to see the status of all projects and project history on one page would certainly be helpful to me.

Overall: Without this software it would be a great deal harder to control each of the projects I work on. Every project has a different client base and different suppliers, all of whom can be input into the system. It's the control over information that gives peace of mind.

Comments: While I am glad to see a Mac-compatible product, I really wish that it was available for PC users. As someone who uses a Mac for a laptop and a PC as a desktop, it can get a little annoying to have to bring out my Mac to use it. I have seen a lot of people complain that you cannot use Daylite with other email clients, I know you can use Gmail with Mail. I have not tried connecting my Gmail with Mail, but I would imagine that once you have it connected, Daylite will work with those as well.

Pros: Well, the best part of Daylite is its integration with my Mac¿s Mail app. There are a lot of products that leave out Mac users, but Daylite works perfectly with my High Sierra machine. I love that I can create a calendar entry for things that I have to do that are mentioned in my emails. The ability to track future sales helps us keep up to date on how we are meeting our company¿s goals. Not only is it very easy to use, but it also has a mobile app that syncs with the program.

Cons: The price has to be the biggest con for me. It is rather steep when compared to other CRM programs, especially when you start to add users. While I am personally glad that there is finally a Mac CRM program, as someone who also uses a PC, I find that it¿s a little frustrating to have to pull out my Macbook every time that I needed to use the program. I would also like to see an option for more storage, especially for the cost of the program.

Pros: I have used Daylite for the past five years switching from another PC CRM program for the previous ten years. I love the fact that I do not have to be online to use Daylite, it resides on my MacBook and can sync with the cloud when I want to. I recently switched from "standalone" to "cloud" and converted on a Sunday. After having some questions, I received AMAZING technical help on a Sunday afternoon that made the transition VERY easy.

This program works VERY well and is worth the investment. Having all my data in one program that integrates with other programs has been fantastic. With DMA, this allows me to record incoming emails into the contact that sends them. This has proven to be a valuable feature of Daylite.

Lastly, their customer service is top notch. If you send a question, expect an answer or resolution very quickly. They earn five stars for this.

Cons: I would like more features (plugins) available with the program that I do not have to purchase from a third party vendor. Other than that, this program is perfect.

Pros: As a sole proprietor, I needed a package that would keep me on track, and organized throughout all aspects of running my business. When used religiously, Daylite reduces the stress of being a business owner, allowing me to concentrate on being a creative professional. I am just beginning to use Daylite to organize my new business efforts, and am confident that it's keen organizational features will help grow my business. Now cloud based, I have access to my synchronized Daylite data across all platforms, IOS & Mac, from anywhere I have an internet connection.

Cons: Fairly steep learning curve that is worth the initial pain. The user MUST be dilligent in entering all pertinent data related to a project, prospect, lead, opportunity et.al. Enter the pertinent data immediately into Daylite and you will be rewarded with a secure, and concise database of information structured to keep the business owner on track. BUT, you must take the initial efforts to enter pertinent data. So, it is a con, but work thru that initial pain and it will be rewarded.

Overall: Helps keep my business activities, new biz, existing clients, projects' coordination, and link to billings on track, helping to reduce the stress of running my business.

Pros: That fact that it integrates with Mail and other Apple products so smoothly. You don't have to compromise your daily computing environment by using Outlook or some other third-party product. I'm not crazy about it moving to a SaaS model but I understand the business reasons for it. And it's still an Apple/Macintosh product which will retain me as a user. I had one support issue and it was taken care of extremely quickly and efficiently. I wish all companies' support systems were as good.

Cons: I find the search function can be slow at times and I may not always get the results I expect. I also wish you could easily move chronologically through the entries that are listed in the "All Activity" view of a project, opportunity. I open something to read it, then have to close it to go to the next entry. These reasons are why I only gave it 4 stars on ease of use.

Pros: My company assists nonprofit organizations, using a diverse group of expert independent contractors. Daylite is a key member of my team.

In one piece of software, Daylite give me control over contacts, calendars, projects, sales leads and more. And, Daylite interconnects all of those in an intuitive manner on both OSX and IOS.

Frankly, Daylite functions as my Executive Assistant. It reminds me of scheduled events and notifies me of upcoming task deadlines.

The Daylite Customer Service team is responsive and has never failed to keep me up and running. Daylite's developer, Marketcircle is a client-focused company that adds innovative features. Simply amazing!

Buy ... or at least try ... Daylite!

Cons: Honestly, I can't think of any liabilities with Daylite. None / Zero / Zip.

I am running Daylite Self-Serve on a Mac-Mini. Might be helpful to have a bit more processing power -- but everything stays synced with my iMac and MacBook Pro.

Pros: Best fetaures:

- The possibility to link everything with everything

Daylite is a great program to collect documents, correspondence and all information about daily office stuff.

The timeline helps me a lot to organice my self and supports me a lot to find old documents and correspondence.
The biggest benefit is the App to access the informations from everywhere.

The worklist is a big feature for my daily task management and helps me to not forget important stuff.

Cons: The update mentality is a shame. No worries, but in my feeling Marketcirle is very slow in development.

The calendar is a mess. Without the integration in Apple calendar the Daylite calendar would not usable for me.

The task and project management is okay but had lots off oppertunitys to become better. Tools like Thinks or Omnifocus are much better than Daylite.

The document management could be either more functional and should more functions provide to organice.

The iPhone / iPad app stands still in development. You should integrate more functions from the desktop version for example like Groups.

The design from all Applications are very old school and need a refresh.

Pros: I work on a team, coordinating transactions for 4 brokers as well as assisting with various projects ranging from social media content creation to client events. Daylite offers one place to hold details and to track tasks. Transactions are Opportunities and everything else is a Project. Attaching emails is easy and super useful. Contacts we use over and over again only have to be entered once. No one on my team has to keep a million details in their head so it helps us all stay on the same page. Now that we have switched to the cloud its faster, more reliable, and I've been able to install it at home so working remotely is seamless.

Cons: Daylite mail assistant for iphone/ipad has been needed for years. Also really wish I could copy and paste multiple fields from people or company records.

Overall: The biggest benefit for me is that I juggle 10-20 transactions at a time and I don't have to keep a million details in my head. It also provides a place for my brokers to look when they have questions about a transaction, current or past.

Pros: Daylite integrates so closely with the Apple ecosystem. It has allowed us to consolidate on all Apple technology and know that everyone has the best product for integration. One of the best parts for us is that it allows us to not only save and store as much information on our clients and transactions as we need, but it allows us to find, access, and get reports on that information. Many other CRM's that we tried previously were real estate industry specific, but they did not actually allow us to get the information in the ways that we wanted.

Cons: As we are in the real estate industry, there are many real estate specific products that were easier in the beginning to use. They were set up the way the majority of real estate agents/brokers work. Daylite took some extra time and effort to setup in the beginning, but we are now feeling like the extra time was worth it as we are able to customize it more to our systems. Just be prepared to put in the extra time up front.

Pros: Linking is a key feature and benefit with Daylite, you can link people to a company and to other people, tasks, projects and pipelines. These can be linked in the diary as well, coupled with all emails linked through means you have a fully linked client history, with all the relevant information in one place. In todays small to medium sized business that doesn't have the people resource to manage this level of functionality, Daylite does it all!

AND, you can run it on multiple devices, iPhone, iPad and iMac, with auto-syncing means no back ups required. I couldn't be happier with Daylite Cloud.

Cons: Nothing really, customer service is very good and software is great. I guess the only small downside is sometimes not a quick response from support as they use Canada timezone. But its not a big issue.

Pros: Allows me to store all my contact communications and relationships to me so that I can efficiently respond to any questions as well as send out notices. For example I have a patient category that I can send group communications regarding treatments and government subsidies as well as I can send group emails to other traders regarding our outcomes. The program does a lot to systematize the information provided over the Internet and as such is a very valuable if not essential hub of my business. I am particularly appreciative of the support that I get which includes staff logging on and showing me on my computer what I need to do.

Cons: I have been using Daylite for several years now and have become accustomed to working with it. Difficulties have arisen typically in synchronizing the Daylite database with other programs such as Apple Mail.

Overall: Systematic integration of information technology. Can be used in a variety of circumstances from professional storage information to family documents.

Pros: There are so many things I like it's impossible to think of them all but just the ability to keep everything that has to do with a certain project or client linked so I can easily look it up is one thing. When a client ask me for something to do with a specific project I did way back I can still quite easily look it up and give the client the information they are looking for. Also the Pipelines with their custom tasks in Projects and Opportunities are invaluable. And of course, having all this synced over all my devices. The customer support is excellent - the best I've experienced anywhere!
In short, I don't know how I would manage without Daylite!

Overall: I depend on Daylite to manage and keep track of everything, business and private.

It would be on the rare occasions when there have been sync problems but they were very rare and lasted only a very short time.

Pros: It syncs beautifully across all devices. Enables me to have all of the information and interaction with my clients and projects all in one place. The interface with Apple Mail delivers the emails into my projects and that combined with files, notes, appointments, and tasks all being attached to my clients means I am always clear on what is happening with my projects.

Cons: Hard to find anything I like least as Daylite is my go-to software. Its a small thing but it would be nice if the calendar view could be changed so that I could see more of the day on the screen at the same time i.e. it is currently in half-hour increments which can't be changed and I often work in evenings and have to remember to scroll down to see appointments in the evening. Would be good if it was customizable to change the viewing to hour increments.

Overall: Makes my life and work easy to organise and keep up-to-date.

Pros: Synchronization with Apple programs is awesome. Broad range of functionality; i.e. contact management, calendar, tasks, project management, sales/opportunity management, mail merge, scheduling with shared calendars, etc. etc. Ability to import events from Outlook. Contact management is 'Person' driven, not date/event driven like Outlook. I can view upcoming events with contacts, as well as history with each contact. Love the online version! Love Daylite iPhone app!

Cons: There is nothing I don't like about Daylite software. I highly recommend it. My only wish is that Outlook was an Apple vs. PC product, since the business world is entrenched in Outlook vs. Apple Mail. This would eliminate dragging events scheduled in Outlook to Daylite. It's a simple, easy step though and I'm grateful for this functionality.

Comments: Daylite manages customers, accounts opportunities with ease. Tightly coupled integration with Apple Mail and calendaring functions make it a seamless product that delivers results. It has depth and many time saving features as result of this tightly coupled nature of the Apple only ecosystem. It is this point where the challenge to Daylite exists, not the product but having the customer convert from a non-Apple platform to a Apple based computing infrastructure. The barriers of cost outside of Daylite are not insignificant, but the good news is that this cost barrier is becoming less over time and most users would be happy to move to an Apple based product.

Pros: The integration of email, and tons of fields plus 13 extras, gives me plenty of flexibility to sort/select and find the record I'm looking for.
Fr'instance, say, it's somebody I met at a Rotary Club in some state, but forgot the name, I simply do a search on any word or phrase (not necessarily a keyword) and Daylite finds the likely matches, whether in an email, or a note, or whatever. The associations of who is connected to who (whom?) and how, helps to connected the dots even more.

Cons: While there are plenty of report formats, and capability to modify somewhat, this could be improved. The Access database (at least from what I recall years ago) had a neat way to select/order reports & forms, such as listing, say, customers by city, within county, within state, within region, etc.

Overall: Can't run our National non-profit without it.

Pros: Ability for a business to work together as a work-group and team. All key information in one place and ready to use on all your apple devices. Searching and finding your data is fast! Now with Daylite Cloud and integration with other could services, the functionality expands to new heights.

Cons: Contact information from email signatures must be entered manually into a Daylite contact. This should be automated. Having the ability to have 'outline' format in Notes would be great! Phone app sometimes continues to remind you of appointments that have been cancelled or deleted.

Overall: It's the hub and backbone of how we do business everyday. It helps internal communication to be effective and efficient. Daylite being the hub on all information related to projects and opportunities, eliminates wrong information since everyone on the team is looking at the same up-to date information.

Cons: Not really a "con", but rather a recommendation. Have a clear idea of what you want Daylite to do for you, and structure the highly flexible options, keywords, relationships, locations etc. accordingly before you start. You can edit reasonably easily, but it's best to get it approximately right at the outset.

Pros: Daylite helps us to keep all information about a contact in one place. We can have contact information, notes from every conversation, every email communication, every document we have sent, and every opportunity, project or task associated with the client. Daylite has a great deal of flexibility in the ways you can remind yourself about upcoming activities. It helps us keep commitments to prospects and clients.

Cons: We cannot find a way to scan and load contacts into Daylite. We also wish it interacted with Evernote. We also wish that we could create custom reports more easily. Right now, Daylite recommends that we use a partner to create reports.

Overall: Our company has been using Daylite for 5+ years. MarketCircle is great at listening to customers and making updates and changes that are helpful to us. We are an executive recruiting firm and use this software to track clients, candidates, and each position we are asked to fill.

Pros: Software is intuitively very easy to use. My four-Star rating is due to the higher end functions not being as intuitive. Support from the company is great. The folks at Marketcircile are very interested in listening to their users. They respond quickly during normal business hours to help. Daylite is also way more powerful then it initially appears. Various consultants across the world have built businesses setting up and customizing this product for its users willing to pay for the service. It takes very little to learn the basic, but I feel as if I've barely scratched the surface despite this being a very useful product to me.

Cons: Marketcircle is not a gigantic company so sometimes the lack of instructions on certain aspects of the product is frustrating. However the company has definitely improved a ton on this by posting training videos on their website.

Pros: The rational model behind the software gives us the flexibility we need to support our customers and report our doing. To link nearly everything to everything is amazing and to handle different sales pipelines is perfect for our recruiting business where we help different customers to find their sales partners national and international. The Offline version works great and the synchronization (we host by our own) is a perfect idea to work internationally.

Cons: They are looking very carefully on integrating new features so the speed of modification is not that fare as we should expect it, but most of the time it is stable what you get...
The iPad version (especially for iPad Pro) should be more function rich oriented on the desktop version (thats not the fact so fare).

Pros: Daylite has a lot of functionality and wonderful integration. (Our calendar and email integrates with Daylite). We use this software for our customer database. To get the most out of the product, you need to take the tutorials so you can learn how to "tag" customers and create mini databases. For example, if you have a buyer that has bought certain items from you company, you will want to tag that buyer with the name of the item so you can pull up reports. The more you use the tags and connections, the better your reports will be. We find these very useful, but if someone in the office forgets to tag a customer properly, the data is pretty much useless.

Cons: It is not "plug and play". You need to put the work in to understand the functionality.l If you have a "lazy" employee, you might not get the full use of the software

Pros: Flexibility, endless set-up possibilities, offline access, task management abilities (keywording is awesome)

Cons: not being able to have activity tasks auto-start at a certain date without setting up a task as a reminder

Overall: I've used Daylite for many years (long enough to remember how excited I was when Daylite Touch came out) and although the set-up took some brainstorming/planning because there is a myriad of possibilities for workflow management, it was well worth the investment. This product is versatile, robust and accommodating. I use it primarily for GTD and project planning for my accounting practice. It is my one-stop shop for organizing my time, tasks and deliverables. The customer service over the years has been improving with its response-times and helpfulness. It was great when I first started using Daylite and has exponentially improved since then. I cannot imagine my practice without Daylite.

Recommendations to other buyers: It is definitely a more steep than average learning curve but well worth it in the end to spend the time.

Pros: 1. It does everything I want it to, including keeping track of contacts, calendars, tasks, projects pipelines, emails, notes, etc.
2. It integrates perfectly with David Good's Getting Things Done (GTD) methodology. In the past I've had to use two or three apps to do this. Daylite does it all in one place and does it very well.
3. It's reliable. I rarely have a glitch and - when I do - it's minor and tech support already has a fix.
4. It automatically creates backups of the data. I don't have to worry about that.

Cons: The biggest drawback is that it isn't easy to create templates for documents, labels and reports. To create a new label or report template, I need to go to my Daylite consultant, which costs me money. To create a new Word document template is clunky and requires experimentation.

Pros: A very good set of sales and workflow management features and a solid build. We love how it integrates our calendars (for people and resources), sales funnel (including quoting), project communications, and CRM. Mail integration allows all emails to be linked to the relevant contact, company, project or opportunity in the main database, so that all team member can see project communications. we are starting to use Zaps to feed directly into the database from other applications.

Cons: Template engine is not intuitive.
Could do with greater automation in contact information capture, and the ability to link multiple email messages in Mail to the same person/project/company by selecting multiple messages in Mail (currently only possible to do this one message at a time).

Pros: I love the way contacts, projects, tasks, meetings, etc. are all independent objects that can be linked an infinite number of ways. I have used ACT! and many other CRMs. Daylite stands out to me as the clear winner. It helps me keep my personal and business projects, contacts, appointments and reference information organized. I use Mac and the integration with Mail is also extremely useful. Also I love the way Daylite Cloud syncs across all my devices, Mac OS and iOS seamlessly.

Cons: I had challenges with the Daylite Server version in the past so if you go with Daylite, stick with their cloud version.

Pros: I love that I don't have to do "old yeller reports" for my team. I can simply see where they're all at, and keep a track on the numbers that mean the most. dials, meetings, proposals, and won deals. All the attachments, client history, calls, and information is kept for me, so I can transition staff easily or update myself on activity.

Cons: I do wish that it had email open tracking, templates for emails, and suggested activity sets. As someone who may not be the most sales-inclined, I'd love a little more industry-leading guidance on what the best activities sets for networking, following up after a meeting, and such are.

Pros: I've been using Daylite for around seven years and run a paperless business using it. I've developed my system to more and more closely reflect my workflows. Creating 'activity sets' and 'pipelines' and applying them to projects ensures consistency of approach. The ability to link records gives the ability to build up complex relationships - and unlink them as necessary.

Cons: I can't really think of anything I don't like about Daylite! In the early days, there were synchronisation issues, but the software has moved on considerably since then. I'm now using the 'cloud' version. Even if my Macbook broke or I lost it - all of my work is safely stored on the cloud server.

Overall: I work using Daylite every day - a consummate business tool.

Pros: The power & overall utility of the search function never ceases to amaze me.

Just starting to notice some of the finer details. Today I finally realized that some fields on a company or contact only show when they actually contain data. When no data, field is empty. Makes for much cleaner, less cluttered display.

Cons: Wish there were some way to document & manage the Keywords.

I will add a keyword... and then later wonder what I actually mean by it. Words, unless explicitly described are ambiguous.

Keywords may be something of a challenge when exposing use of Daylite to other users. Will my keyword meanings be obvious to them? I'll find out shortly.

Overall: Extremely powerful tool to organize & find information.

Pros: The flexibility fo use, the fact that all the information I need can be linked and found from different angles within the application. I love being able to customize the forms and the reports amongst other things. I love that I can create tasks from other applications. The customer support is very, very good. There are tons of trainings videos, articles and now also a manual, the combination of all these suits me perfectly. I also love that all is not strictly Cloud based, I often find myself in areas where I do not have access to internet and enjoy having all my information on my laptop.

Cons: I can not dictate tasks through Siri ( and I tend to have my greatest ideas while driving or picking up horse manure). The application can do way more than I can so it is taking me some time to uncover many of Daylite's jewels.

Pros: Easy implementation, rich functionality, integration with other Apple devices, iOS app for working on the road. Every functionality worked on first try with one exception, but then again the customer support was perfect

Cons: The user interface looks a bit outdated, yet it is easy to navigate. There is self-serve (i.e. company hosted, one time purchase) and cloud version (subscription). The company seems to promote the cloud version and the functionalityof the self-serve is limited in comparison with the cloud. Yet even the self-serve version functionality is more than sufficient for anyone.

Overall: Streamlining of customer relation management and project management. Saves a lot of work.

Pros: It is very intuitive and with the plug-ins, it addresses almost everything I need to address in monitoring and carrying out the tasks. As the CEO, delegating and monitoring tasks, appointments, and projects have taken convenience to a new level.

Cons: The inability of the Daylite Mail Assistant to categorise mail threads into one set of permissions and categories and projects/opportunities makes the manual and single mail adding to Daylite cumbersome.

Pros: Daylite is easy to understand and use. I love the design and functionality. It is quite a robust package! I especially like how you can work with the to do lists and the integration with MAC e-mail!

Cons: Unfortuntatly, Daylite is a bit pricey. Probably because you get more than a typical CRM. I would also like to have an external capability to schedule times in my calendar such as with Calendly but I am guessing they are working on a similar integration.

Overall: I have gotten greater structure and organisation in both my private and business life. Not to mention a much greater peace of mind due to the great overview of what is on my plate and training information in order to be more effective.

Pros: I enjoy the way the software integrates with Mac Mail, which allows me to associate emails with particular projects. I also like how easy it is to look up contacts that are associated with a project. It's nice to have all of the contact information available at a glance.

Cons: I wish the email functions integrated better with their sister software Billings Pro. Email is the primary method of communicating today, and billing can be based in large part on this type of communication.

Overall: I use this for case management; it easily allows me to easily track all events for a given project.

Pros: integrates well into osx, great flexibility to streamline my workflows, great interface and ease of use, fantastic ability to set up office systems for client files, administrative tasks, accounting and invoicing etc, making my office work super efficient. allows me to maintain my own precedent letters and documents - much better alternative than some dedicated legal software packages.

Cons: not much to dislike about this software really ! a few small bugs here and there but customer support has been fastastic.

Overall: efficiency and better control of workflow through my office

Pros: I appreciate Daylite for its stability, and depth of features. I have used it for many years and it never crashes. It offers me several ways to do whatever I want.

Cons: I wish that I could format text in notes. The only annoying feature is that when I reflexively hit "save" when filling out a form it closes the form. I wish I could reach tech support by phone when there is the very rare mission critical problem. Still, tech has been responsive and I've always been able to resolve any issue relatively quickly.

Pros: How easy it makes it to keep calendars, schedules, contacts, task lists, etc all together and linked and organized! It has truly helped our business and saved a lot of trees!!! :)

Cons: Since it is a computer program, sometimes it doesn't do what I would like it to do and that can be frustrating. When I run into something like this, I reach out to the support and they usually find me a way around it or explain how I could do it better!

Overall: Making our business more organized and help grow the company with utilizing all of daylite's amazing skills!

Pros: It does all Salesforce done 'and more' for less than 1/2 cost. Daylite is a best CRM product for less cost! The product is continuing to evolve and soon will release an integrated iOS feature that moves yet another element of a GREAT product to be SUPER FANTASTIC! Daylite's osX is unparalleled and it is integrated well with iOS. An upcoming enhancement to iOS will position Daylite to 'disrupt the CRM market'

Cons: I can not think of a single flaw. The product is feature rich and Daylite has countless Video tutorials on how to be leverage their product providing ideas that can support your unique needs.

Pros: I used this software a long tim ago and decided I needed to organise my business life again so took the time to look into the cloud based version (I had spent a week trying other CRM solutions but couldn't find one that did everything I needed as easily as Daylite). As I already had expectations of what I needed from the CRM I put it through it's paces on the 30 day free trial and every couple of days I asked some really awkward questions and I always got an answer which solved my problem. It's because of this I decided to purchase the product without waiting until the end of the 30 days. It's also great that I can use it on my mobile device as well as my laptop at home without any fuss as everything is synced and the licence is all included. The integration into the mac system and products like directmail was a real clincher for me as I wanted everything to talk to each other to really make the most of it.

Cons: There are a few quirks carried over from the original version but that is just me being really picky because they needed some cons fro the review.

Overall: Integration to other software to make it an integral part of my marketing system.

Pros: The software can easily adapt to your needs. Automating tasks & reports can be done very easily and delegation of items in a team environment is very easy. The customer support team is very easy to deal with and are quick, efficient and friendly in their interactions letting you get back to being productive quickly!

Cons: Would like the ability to auto generate reports on given dates based upon preset filters for notes. Would alleviate time spent on repetitive tasks so long as team was diligent in uploading notes.

Pros: The concept of having all my project management, scheduling, and contacts in one program. Accessible everywhere on all my devices makes it super easy to stay on track.

The company itself is a major pro. They are constantly updating Daylite and keeping the program alive. It makes me feel very secure using the software. What little customer service experiences I had were all great.

Cons: The learning curve. It's pretty tough to figure out a good flow for your business. There is also a lot to the program. It takes a little time to get your workflow down, with tags and categories, but once you do it's a piece of cake.

If there were some basic examples or existing company examples on how they set up their Daylite workflow, that would've been super helpful.

Additional email integration would be nice. I do not use Apple mail so unfortunately, the email tab in Daylite sits dormant. Would be great if it could link up with other clients, or allow me to directly add any email address into Daylite.

The only other negative would be the desktop client aesthetics. The program looks a little outdated in terms of design but like my other cons, it's not enough to deter the user experience.

Pros: Seemless integration with calendar and contacts. It on my iMAC, iPhone, iPad and Powerbook. I just upgraded to the Cloud which allows me to manage myself anywhere, anytime with the touch of my finger.

Cons: There is nothing I can think of that I do not like about it. If I had to come up with something it would be that there are features I know are available but I have not yet learned how to use them.

Overall: Control of my business and my life.

Pros: If you dislike Salesforce because it's too cumbersome or overwhelming, then try Daylite. It offers easy to use solid CRM tools, only those you need, not those you don't.

Cons: The mobile app needs to be more like the web version. Also, even though there's little need for tech support, I prefer having a "human" to speak with to quickly resolve problems. Back and forth emailing to fix things can be frustrating when one phone call can fix it. And hiring a Daylite expert can be expensive and difficult to find.

Pros: Apart from it being native on a OS X platform, I love the following organised feature that runs my business.
CRM : having my calendar linked with my clients.
Opportunities : having all my quotations to clients organised into one screen.
Projects : having all my projects in one location allows me to see my work flow.

There are tons of feature that Daylite provides and I could hardly go through a day without using it.

Cons: The software could be more graphical like basecamp, but I would choose Daylite anytime because of the functions.

Pros: Daylite is a fantastic value, with features that cost many times more through other systems. I needed a CRM dedicated for the Mac, and it has really delivered. The cloud syncing function works beautifully; perfect for the frequent traveler. Their tech support is particularly good, with very prompt responses every time I do have a problem.

Cons: I wish it had better reporting functions. The canned reports included are not particularly useful to me. Also wish it could easily print out my daily calendar, since I keep my to-do list and schedule in Daylite.

Pros: Easy to use, very intuitive re ticklers, tasks, reports, etc. Since I'd been using an iPhone and iPad for years I thought I'd take a chance and try converting to a MAC, Daylite, etc and I'm glad I did!

Cons: Tough to read the gray details in tasks, something market Circle is addressing I'm told. Activating the arrows in Tasks to advance or rewind the month is a little challenging also.

Overall: I use this every day, 7 days a week (since personal ticklers, etc commonly accessed also)

Pros: Makes great use of the Apple OS & iOS systems. If you're on those platforms, why not use a program designed specifically to leverage them?!?

Cons: Only minor issues here; there are a few tweaks I'd like to make, but it's a solid system as it is. Would like an option for changes to some record fields to automatically feed into the history log (i.e. address changes, so you have a historical record of when you changed it etc).

Overall: Works well, easy to network with peers, it's become a key part of how we manage our business.

Pros: I like that you can chose what email gets linked to what. It does not chose for you. It has also been helpful to look back on history of contacts for deals that happen every year.

Cons: I wish automation was a bit easier to do. It seems difficult to get things to happen automatically but we continue to learn new things about the pipeline and tasks.

Pros: I like that information is linked to other information. It is easy to link and unlink and to have info linked to more than one contact. Also, I can search for ANY information that is in the database.

Cons: for me, creating templates for reports requires outsourcing to consultant. But the consultant is terrific and gets report templates back to me quickly and makes adjustments without an extra charge.

Pros: The process moved from initial lead, closing sales, create the project, managing tasks and evaluate the clients feedback. All manageable in 1 place.

Cons: It is only available for Mac, so all users require Mac. Scaling this system up, or connect outside partners, they require a Mac environment, which makes it harder for large organisations to work with Daylite too. (we work with oversea suppliers/ partners that share the same client)

Pros: The perfect combination of CRM with Mail. The Daylite team always takes care of our concerns very quickly. You have also programmed a plugin especially for our needs in shortest time, this at a very good price/performance ratio.

Cons: To date (standing at 60,000 customers) we have not been able to find anything negative. Everything has always worked perfectly.

Pros: How well Daylite and Apple Mail play together is a real strength. Capability to link almost anything. Utilization of the cloud and off line data is awesome feature.

Cons: Limited custom fields for organizations, contacts, opportunities, etc. Custom Fields are designed for only simple text. Report builder designed for computer science majors only. Lack of font size control.

Overall: Could not run my business without it.

Pros: Daylite is extremely fast and responsive, transitioning from a web based CRM to a native CRM on OSX has been a great experience for us.

Cons: The only problem I've had with Daylite in the past is licenses would stop working and that would create problems with other users trying to connect to the database. The problem no longer exists with Daylite 6. The biggest problem I see with daylite is with plugins, you left with having to deal with companies like IOSExpert who make plugins for daylite. This company is based in Germany and rarely responds to support inquiries even being a paid subscriber of the product and a paid support user. Daylite needs to have a list of supported plugins that either they design or sign off with as a complete compatible plugin but as is we're left with dealing with awful support and mediocre plugins from developers like iOSXpert.

Recommendations to other buyers: Download the 30 day trial. I think you'll be impressed with Daylite.

I can quickly take a look at what I need to do each day, review the client file, and make the appropriate follow-up. Pros: Ease of use, easy integration with Apple's Mail application. It's easy to file away all relevant e-mails and link them to project, contact, opportunity, etc.

Cons: I wish there were an easy way to keep track of billable and/or business development hours. It can be done now, but it requires a calendar entry for each event. Then, filtering on keyword (e.g. "hours") allows quick overview. Rather, I would like to see a running balance of hours spent on each opportunity and project.

Overall: I love using it because it puts the items of most importance where they can be easily monitored and acted on. I've tried over the years to manage projects and opportunities using other organizational software, but none provide the links to allow the appropriate access to information that is needed for each task.

Pros: Great CRM with Opportunity and project tracking. Email integration to easily attach emails to Persons, Companies, Opportunities and/or Projects. All data is cross-linked based on relationship to other pieces of data in the system. Example - You can look up a company and see all the persons, opportunities and projects related to that company on one screen and jump to any of those persons, opportunities and projects by clicking on the link.

Cons: Only works on Apple OS X and IOS devices, No support for any other OS.
No Project Management features, only tracking
No Resource Management features.

Pros: We use Daylite Mail Assistant as our first step to track opportunity leads and projects. We don't have to cc emails to other team members because all of the emails are in Daylite. When my colleague looks at a project in Daylite, he can see all the related emails there without having to be included on all the email threads.

Cons: Writing proposals is a little bit of a hassle, and there is no way to create invoices - other than using third-party apps or plugins.

Overall: Saving time.

Pros: Works seamlessly and reliably. And the few times I have had problems over what must be 8 or 9 years of use, they have been when I have changed computers, AND THE DAYLITE TEAM HAS ALWAYS BEEN MASTERFUL AT HELPING ME FIX THE PROBLEM! I could not ask for more, better, faster.

Overall: It helps me manage my emails and invoices and similar. It is much easier to use than my last database and it does the backups seamlessly.

Pros: Feature rich, integrates natively into OSX (including calendars and contacts). Basic features are intuitive and easy to learn.

Cons: There's a lot to this program, and not all of it quite jumps off the page. A more robust setup wizard would be nice, as well as some more preset connections and such for a wider variety of business types (even a searchable repository of these on MarketCircle's website would be great).

Integrations with non-OSX services also leaves a bit to be desired. Zapier functionality is pretty limited, and it can be tough to get that information out of the program into others.

Overall: Organises my business, tracks my calendar appointments, leads, and contacts, and just generally improves the experience of running my business. I've tried law-specific practice management solutions in the past, and Daylite blows them out of the water.

Pros: Ease of Use! We don't have to train new employees how to work with it! Super stable and it's very easy to maintain your own Daylite server. The compatibility with CalDav & CardDav is very helpful.

Cons: Some kind of web interface would be nice, so Windows can use it if needed.
No integration with FileMaker. Self-Serve version has fewer features than Cloud version.

Pros: Fairly organized layout of client file, easy to add important client data. Although the choices for reminders, or tasks are almost overwhelming. Although make an easy email reminder pop up box to follow up an email, in a day, two days, next week, etc! That would help greatly.

Cons: I don't like that the templates are hidden in the preference folder, put them in the side bar, I like to use them a lot for my mail merge. Too many steps to get to these files. The Geo information looks interesting, but how do I use this information? Is their a way to pinpoint Clients in an area on a map?

Comments: In the past I have tried a number of software solutions. I've used other CRM's along with TODO list apps. Daylite allows me to keep everything in one place and basically use just one app for managing relationships as well as email (on my desktop), projects, tasks, my calendar and more. No more jumping from one app to another - it's all here. Basically every bit of information about a client can be linked. The forms and reports are incredibly useful and it's the only CRM I have found that allows me to link and show important items in my Apple Calendar (without having to use Google Calendar.) Now scheduling is a breeze.

Pros: I love the integration. When using the desktop app I can link everything and see the relationships right away. I use it as a smart contact list, a project planner, a reminder system - and even very simple finance tracking. The learning curve has been fairly easy and I have to be honest, I appreciate Marketcircle's videos as well as the user guide when I get stuck.

Cons: The only 'wish list' item I have is for Daylite's mobile app to allow linking incoming emails with contacts and organizations. Other than that I can't think of anything else I want it to do.

Recommendations to other buyers: Daylite is a Mac only app - but if you're a Mac user this is the CRM to take a serious look at.

This program is the complete package! I love it. Its user friendly and easy to work with.

Pros: I like being able to link emails to the people or companies in our customer base. It makes it easy to keep track of conversations and the sequence of events etc.

Cons: I wish there were more report printing options. Setting up a group is a bit confusing and i ended up going with a different set up. The Forms could be more useful if there were more options offered.

Pros: It is soooo helpful to be able to add, change, or delete appointments, contacts, etc. no matter where I am. Am semi-retired now, but Daylite is an essential tool of my daily life - professionally AND personally.

Cons: Don't quite understand some of the duplications between Mac Mail and Daylite, but haven't had enough free time to check it out with customer service. Obviously only a minor thing.

Overall: Having my personal and professional life organized in one place.

Pros: It has developed to the point that I can use it as my go to program and continues to improve, replacing others used for contacts, tasks, appointments, planning, notes. All in one place would be my description.

Cons: The inability to sync with my iPhone and iPad when offline. I just switched to the cloud version which overall is better for me, not maintaining a server. But I do miss the offline syncing which I sometimes need.

Pros: Free form or structured or both - a simple and elegant way to integrate emails and other communication.

Cons: Right now the iPhone app is not as fully functional - but I know there are changes coming. Looking forward to being able to tag emails to projects while on the road.

Overall: When your busy you need software (technology) to keep you on track and not do things twice. I allocate each new client to a project and use multiple tasks and activity sets to remind me whats next.

Cons: I wish Billings and Daylite were one single program so that I could do billing within Daylite and not have to switch back and forth.

Pros: How easily I can create, link, & follow-up on tasks. There is no concern wondering what tasks I have, the priority, or where I left off, all because the CRM keeps me up to date on my tasks.

Pros: I find Daylite very easy to use and customizable for how I like to sort and organize everything that the software provides.

Cons: There is nothing that I have found thus far that causes me to not like Daylite. A little annoyance may be changing the spacing of the calendar time scale so that I can see my entire day on one screen without having to scroll up or down.

Overall: The benefit of keeping my day to day organized, which allows me to stay on top of things.

Cons: No phone support, though over the years I have learned to trust their 24/7/365 email support. They will even do a screen share with you of you're having a particular problem. All in all, pretty impressive!

Pros: The integration to OS /iOS is nearly flawless and well maintained with virtually no downtime. Updates always stay ahead of the curve unlike other CRM solutions. Functionally you could not ask for more: Contact, Calendar, Task, Objectives along with contact history all in one place.

Cons: Index within contacts on iOS (IPhone especially) would be a big plus. Once you have a lot of contacts it's difficult to scroll.

Overall: Unified my goals and task management to move my business forward.

Comments: Overall, Daylite 6 seems to be just the ticket for our size company and my particular needs. They have a ton of training videos, although I think they are a little to generic. As a first time CRM user, I had a hard time getting my head wrapped around the "what's the first step to take in getting started" part, but since I have been working it for about 8 weeks now it is starting to make more sense. They should do a video entitled, "Here's how to begin using Daylite."

Pros: I like the way it integrates with Mac Mail, Calendar, and Contacts and ties them all together, and especially like the Projects segment, although it too, needs a better tutorial.

Cons: Wish the difference between Tasks and Wordlist items was a little better defined, and the section on Opportunities. Also a way to have better view of "what I've got in the works" would be helpful.... to see it in almost more a calendar, or list view would be good, although maybe that I just haven't gotten there yet. Bottom line is I'm still going month-to-month until I see if this is the one.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it out on the trial and then go month-to-month, it takes a couple months of working with it, getting it all down to really evaluate it's effectiveness for your sales.

Pros: Daylite has a lot of functionality. I like how it keeps a timeline/paper trail of interaction with contacts. I also like that it keeps important dates such as birthdays and anniversaires on the calendar.

Cons: I really dislike how hard it is to disconnect the Daylite Assistant from MacMail. It slows down my computer on startup sometimes and I cant figure out how to remove it.

Comments: If you are a MacOS based business looking for a workflow management I would definitely recommend Daylite

Pros: For our consulting business I did not think I could find a platform that would allow us to automate so much of our business development and project management. It even interfaces into our accounting system and works brilliantly on desktop, phone and tablet.

Cons: The biggest issue for us is that while the business is MacOS many of the consultants come with their own hardware and some are either Windows or Android. But there are work around with that.
