May 25, 2018 5.0 Pros We just deployed the latest version. We can now offer employee's a virtualized experience that matches that of a desktop PC. Installation was straight forward with the help of our consulting partner. employee's said this was the easiest migration they have ever been a part of. Cons Latest version requires more servers but not a problem if your servers are Virtualized. We had one issue with Internet explorer skyrocketing the processor but once we made the change for Adobe to open PDF's and not IE this solved the issue. One of the more reliable software platforms I had to use Pros Using Citrix allows for sharing of most confidential data with confidence. Citrix when paired with two stage security is one of the best software suites on the market. Cons Depending on size and complexity of the information, Citrix can slow down. The convenience cannot be beat. It allows you to work on your own schedule, which in the healthcare field is valuable. Cons Had some connections issues at first but IT department was able to easily fix the issue. It seemed to be a security issue not an issue with the software. Pros Having all applications needed to get the work done each day, is a great idea. It keeps everything organized. Cons The not so good thing about Citrix, is that when logging in is not correlating with the information you set up. We've used Citrix XenApp for many years and this is now part of the XenDesktop product which we now also use to create Virtual desktops to provide VDI sessions to our clients. Citrix have always been at the top of the list in my opinion when it comes to this market and from what I've seen so far with XenDesktop they are still there and it is a great product. If you have used previous versions you'll probably want to do a little more up-skilling as there are quite a few differences in the new architecture, but it doesn't take long to get up and running. Pros I like being able to utilize a powerful remote server easily without using my own system resources. I can extend my battery life significantly and increase my speed. Cons It doesn't quite integrate perfectly with the host system, which causes some residual graphics on my system. This may be due to the age of my computer however. I would recommend this software. Pros I use Xen Desktop to access our company's shared drives, inventory system, and databases remotely. It usually works well. It lets me use Windows anywhere and our IT folks can upsate my machines remotely as well. Cons Sometimes when going between images it can be slow and clunky. Also the color imaging is not nearly as robust as other platforms or just printing out the image. It doesn't work with the Adobe stuff that well. Review Source RM RJ M.
