Pros: I have implemented admin solutions for HR, finance, accounting, project control, expenses report, purchase orders to suppliers, budgeting, electronic approval process, and many other processes. One account, many users, many apps for many different kind of solutions, fast implementation. New features added on a regular basis.

Cons: Price, only 20 users for mid size plan. This system is oriented to improve teamwork within a company, I miss a platform like this to interact between the company and its customers.

Comments: Quickbase can be as powerful as you make it - it has the ability to build huge, custom, smart databases that are integrated with other platforms to remove data silos and ensure smooth and efficient work flows. However to really get the most out of Quickbase you need to be motivated to learn, explore and build test case apps to really understand what you need and how to get that out of QuickBase. The learning curve isn't too bad, and there is a fantastic community of users providing innovative solutions to problems all the time.

Pros: Great support and help system New "QuickBase University" for training and learning is great for new and old users to develop their QB development Fantastic flexibility to build exactly what you need

Cons: User interface - not great, our organisation has struggled with uptake due to the reasonably spartan and functional user interface

Recommendations to other buyers: Carefully think what you need from QuickBase and what level of time you are able to invest in trying to achieve this.

Pros: Easy transition from excel to quickbase. Very intuitive to import and create data-bases. I dont have any further programing background (except the programing classes I had during my engineering graduation), but still I was able to set the programs and reports I need for my company.

Cons: Lack of support for specific characters of the Portuguese / French / Spanish language, such as ç, é, è, ã etc. This made it impossible to use email synchronization tools (we use gmail) and even sending emails through the tool has problems with those characters. It is very bad to send an email with the name of an unconfigured company just because it has a simple caret. I'm not asking Quickbase to translate the tool, but only to make it usable by countries that do not use English alone. Because this does not allow us to use 100% of the tool, my note will not be 100% either.

Comments: I recently started coaching at a gym that trains athletes. We needed a better way to keep track of our clients, their tests, their payments, and workouts. I had looked at all the "off the shelf" applications that were 'designed' for gyms, and none of them did everything we needed. In a few weeks with QuickBase, I had a fully customized and functioning application for our business, and the feedback from clients is great.

Pros: Customizable to what you need and how you want it, (but you have to know what you want)

Cons: Pretty expensive if you are only 1 or 2 users, you'll have to find a way to combine efforts with other users if you are a less than 3 man shop.

Recommendations to other buyers: Find somebody or some company that develops QuickBase applications to help you get started, but then you can make all the changes you need to on your own after that.

Comments: My company is an energy efficiency contracting business with 20+ employees and $2.5M in annual revenue across residential and commercial business lines. Before we used Quickbase, we had used a combination of other software, and a proprietary software we built to manage our operations. Where these software fell short, Quickbase far exceeded. Simply put the ability create, extend, and change our application to meet our specific needs in a constantly changing environment is powerful. Our application has become our CRM, Project Management, and Operational tracking ad reporting software all built into one with a lot of automation and integration to boot!

Pros: Developing on Quickbase is incredibly easy. Most business operators with basic business software instincts can start building in Quickbase immediately, or they can choose an application on their exchange to start off with. Beyond the basics, where Quickbase really shines is how robust of a platform it is with incredible functionality including beautiful reporting, dynamic filtering, formula fields and form logic, integration ability, and more. There's always a new trick you can learn in Quickbase. In terms of usability, that's really all in the app your choose to use or build. It can be really clunky or sleek. All depends on your ability to build a usable app. The design of the interface is basic, but they're in the process of rolling out a new UI called Mercury that looks great.

Cons: Quickbase does not provide a ton of customer support. They rely on an incredible community of users and developers as well as approved Quickbase Solutions Providers (QSPs) that customers can contract with for help with building their applications. But if you're looking to go at it on your own, you will have to dig if you need help with something. As savvy of as Quickbase user I am, it took me three years before I even learned that I had an account manager at Quickbase.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you really want to get the most out of Quickbase and learn all that it has to offer, a trip to their annual conference called Empower is a must.

Comments: I have used Quickbase for about 2 years now, and I have needed to create the application for my company from scratch. After having dabbled with the likes of designing a SQL or Access database, to creating a seemingly easier FileMaker application, Quickbase ended up winning those, hands down. From a UI/UX perspective, Quickbase is a very intuitive products. You will immediately notice the attention to detail in designing this product the very first time you run into an error in a formula, or any design element. All feedback from the application is so detailed to the point where it practically resolves the issue for you. No other application has ever done that for me. Furthermore, it allows even a non-technical user create fairly complex applications that are far from achievable using a normal database product. Even if you are looking to create certain more advanced functionality in Quickbase, for instance, interacting with other applications via the API, you have native connectors within Quickbase which is constantly growing, and you can use applications like Zapier to further than integration without requiring any programming knowledge. I can write about the benefits of this application for pages, but, I will just say that, if you are drowning in Excel sheets to run your business, and have no way to link your data in an elegant way, do yourself a favor, and check out Quickbase for this purpose.

Pros: - Easy of use (Great UI/UX) - Flexible Interface - Scalable - Supports a full API for integration to virtually any other application - Allows for scaling to a multi-user application, allowing for complex workflows to match business process. - It's a mature product, which means that you would hard pressed to ask a question that hasn't already been answered by one of the Quickbase geniuses in the community forums. - The community support is fantastic, and their support is very quick and efficient.

Cons: - Reports are not easily formattable. So, if you want to send out reports to your clients, or internally within the company, you would have to resort to 3rd party tools to allow for such functionality. I'm hoping that Quickbase will work on this particular aspect of their reporting in future releases.

Comments: Quickbase is a very user friendly application. I have used in two process applications for my company. It doesn't require special advanced Software skills. It is very straight and simple.

Pros: The customer support team is very effective. If I have a question and ask the online support, I would get a reply within less than a day and they are most of the time with answers.

Cons: I would suggest a bit improved notification lists. Multiple email ids for remainders, a sent box for tracking etc.

Comments: I have been using Quickbase since July of 2011 with my consulting firm that specializes in making Operations, Logistics, and Finance-related applications for many clients in the Washington, DC area. Coming from a statistics programming background, I found it very easy to start making simple relational databases and customize the user experience to my liking. Over the years, Quickbase has only gotten better in offering more options and polish, while still remaining stable and very robust for any number of use cases. One downside to being such a broad tool is that our clients sometimes don't even think to ask if something can be done in Quickbase, and instead wasting money on a more targeted application that is more out of the box ready. We commonly find that with new clients, making a simple app starts to open up the "what ifs" in their mind on what can be done in Quickbase. This is made even easier these days with the Quickbase App Exchange, showcasing beginner level applications, and the new Quickbase Sync which allows out of the box (one-way) data transfers from several 3rd party applications. Overall as a developer, the more time you put into exploring what Quickbase can do, the more possibilities there are in meeting requirements for potential projects.

Pros: Easy to set-up, but has a lot of depth for those willing to take the time to learn. Low-code and great for experienced Excel and Google Sheets formula writers.

Cons: They are working on this, but the front end often receives complaints for looking too plain. Also the summary aggregation reports are in need of some TLC, and adding more functionality for picky executives who want things to look a certain way. I hope the attention they are putting into the very nice looking graphs and charting options is turned to Summary Reports soon!

Comments: I often want to suggest QuickBase to friends with businesses because of it's ease of use. It helps organize information easily, without the hassle of coding, etc. The only problem I would identify for smaller businesses is the cost. If you can justify spending what QuickBase costs, it is a great business solution. QuickBase techs are always happy to provide support to solve your problems alongside you. It's overall a very useful business tool.

Pros: Easy reports Easy organization of data It's easy QuickBase provides great help and resources to learn more

Cons: May be frustrating if you are used to other reporting tools and functions within those tools (Access and Excel; VLOOKUPS, HLOOKUPS, etc) Cost can be a little high for smaller businesses

Comments: Our company uses Intuit's Quickbase for a wide range of business solutions including purchasing, sales tracking, prospecting and invoicing. The application is easy to use and comes with a lot of features to get any business up and running, and it is quite easy for end users to understand and build on.

Pros: Intuit's Quickbase has so many pros for any level of developer. It allows for rapid development of applications. We have not found a similar solution out there that offers the ease of use and scaling like Quickbase. For IT admins, it is a great system to manage and build applications with.

Cons: There are not many things I can consider a con against Quickbase except the code pages should have a WYSIWYG editor. Coding in plain text is not fun.

Comments: Quickbase in one word is Awesome. never before has a developer had such an arsenal of high quality tools available to get applications created and deployed so quickly.

Pros: - Roles and Permissions - Various Field Types - API - Easy Relational Database Tables - Simple to use for end users

Cons: - UI could use a redesign - API response format could offer JSON - a little pricey for smaller businesses that want the full advantage of the API and other features that require a minimum user number

Very pleased with QuickBase for nine years

Overall

Comments: I've been a QuickBase user for nine years, and it's been a fantastic way for our company to improve its processes and to create new capabilities that would not have been possible otherwise. We've used it to provide a jointly accessible portal for the projects we do for our customers, with standardized PM templates, including the ability to display a MS Project Gantt chart, action items, document sharing, risk tracking, contact list, design metrics, etc. We also use it a lot as an intra-company globally accessible customer account tracking system - with one app per customer - to track who in our company is contacting whom in our customer's company and when. We also use it to track the hours for our support staff.

Pros: 1. Easy for a novice to customize a template app to meet his needs. 2. Easy to share apps with new users. 3. Great customer support - I always get an almost immediate response, with great follow-through. 4. Reliability - all things considered, it is down very seldom

Cons: My main complaint has been that the API doesn't give you enough access to the full capabilities - but that will soon be addressed in an upcoming release.

Cons: Currently limited in connectivity to legacy systems so this requires customized solutions that are less intuitive than moving from spreadsheets to QuickBase

Comments: My company has only built a tiny piece of what will become a complete project management application for our business. Our to-do list is ginormous! QuickBase is very adaptive and easy to customize. My only complaint is the interface. It was built for nerds, which is great, unless you want to convince your team that this will help them. The learning curve is a bit intimidating for some of the less tech-savvy folks. Very much looking forward to the new UI rollout!

Pros: Robust and adaptive. Huge app exchange!

Cons: Dull user interface can be intimidating for newbies.

Scale Business Processes with Intuit QuickBase

May 31, 2015
5/5
Overall

Comments: I have found from using Intuit QuickBase that it allows for very custom, time-consuming business processes to be transformed into a simple "app" or database without any coding. If you have a technical background, QuickBase also provides code pages for even further customization of the functions and interface. The interface is quite intuitive and directs users to the buttons they need to perform their actions. I attribute the successful adoption patterns to the simplistic user interface. The interface looks more like a web application and less like a DIY database. The platform is a perfect alternative to Microsoft Access or Excel. I utilize features like automated emails, workflows/business logic, and custom dashboards with reporting to ensure my users always have the information most important to them. I have built QuickBase apps that support hundreds of users and core business processes, many which are custom to the industry or organization, replacing the need for ERP functionality.

Pros: -Intuitive user interface -Ad-hoc report builder (great for non-technical users) -No-code/low-code platform (quickly create and deploy apps/databases) -Custom dashboards for specific users/roles -Security of Intuit (TurboTax, QuickBooks, etc.) -Awesome support and account management

Cons: -Improved mobile app -Increased branding/white-labeling

QuickBase Accelerates Productivity

Comments: QuickBase applications can accelerate productivity by enabling Rapid Application Development with a simple low-code platform. The highest level of permissions controls with simple, easy to use forms and dashboards which provide Users with information at their fingertips. The applications I have built, enable businesses around the world to capture, share, report and collaborate as teams providing a centralized single-input source of business-critical data. QuickBase is easily scalable and allows businesses to connect their Applications to other cloud-based data sources. Taking QuickBase beyond its native capabilities is easily achieved with customized programming and support from QuickBase Developers who can make QuickBase function at the highest levels in business.

Pros: Easy to build, fast to deploy with plenty of online, community and Developer support. QuickBase is a tool to replace other data-entry software and programs. Strong permission controls; easy-to-build Forms; easy-to-build reports; and regular free updates to the interface from Intuit which invests heavily into improvements and upgrades which are at no extra charge to the customer.

Cons: Do not expect QuickBase to be a replacement for business-level Accounting software such as QuickBooks, although QuickBase can be integrated with Accounting software in different ways.

Best Cloud Based Program Period!

May 29, 2015
4/5
Overall

Comments: I have yet to find anything that comes close to Quickbase. I have been using quickbase since the beta days. I have also tried a few other similar tools out there and nothing comes close. Main downside is it's on the pricy side and sometimes hard to justify recommending to my clients and associates. Other downside is it is impossible to back up your apps so you are strictly reliant on QB and if you make a relationship error it can really screw things up without an easy way to go back.

Pros: Easy, fast development, powerful, has subscription reports, change alerts, all user security and access levels, mobile web version without an app.

Cons: No way to back up your apps, expensive, many reports won't work on mobile web version.

Customer service below par.

May 29, 2015
2/5
Overall

Comments: Quickbase does not offer a phone number for customer service and sometimes take days to respond to e-mails. I often seem to know more about the program than the service representative I get - my boss says if I stay on the phone long enough with Quickbase I will figure a way around the problem while they tell me all the reasons something can't be done. I have found you can't respond to the surveys they send honestly if you want any help next time. The rep will scold you about how it negatively impacts their career and will likely not pick your email next time which means you wait that much longer before you get help next time. The reps like to call after office hours so they can show they attempted to respond quickly but you get no real help. The table-to-table relationships are so convoluted you will need a half-dozen fields and a weird relationship table to get information from one table to another, and then it won't arrive the way you want: It may be a drop-down that you have to click on four different fields to get the info from the other table. Ever need a simple number generator (x+1) for invoice numbers, job numbers, etc? Go somewhere else or hire someone to build you one (Excel users will cry). You get the response: we are working on that. Bottom Line: when developing a management program you will have time-sensitive issues that will make you wish for something better.

Pros: Cloud-based program.

Cons: Convoluted, poor customer service, slow loading tables.

Cons: - interface takes a bit of time until user can get comfortable - lower entry price would be better (<$300/month)

Comments: Quickbase is trully an excellent platform for web app development with no code approach. It's really simple to learn and provide quick application development. Setting up tables, relations, forms, validations by playing with the out of box configurations is very nice. Option of building custom reports making an application really awesome. Also quickbase pages are mobile compatible improving user experience for any device. I definately recommend this product.

Pros: Quick and easy, option of handling roles and security for each level of details, excellent technical support with 100% customer satisfaction, mobile/devices compatible and powerfull reporting capability.

Cons: Lack of multilingual support, Not having some of the miscleneous fields like Captcha, some time customization is bit tricky for a very complex functionalities.

Comments: Our team is getting on board with QuickBase and is very excited about the possibilities. Lots of functionality and the pricing is very reasonable for what you get. The support is very good and the user universe is extensive. Highly recommended.

Pros: The biggest strength is the ability to get a lot of functionality into your apps without needing hard programming skills.

Cons: QuickBase will do well to continue their efforts to get more organic/inherent linkages with other platforms. That is happening and will make the platform even more appealing going forward.

Fast and Efficient Platform for Building Applications

Comments: Overall I have found the QuickBase platform to be the easiest and fastest way to build applications the help us migrate spreadsheets into a consolidated database.

Pros: Dynamic form rules allow for the cleanest and most efficient forms for the end users. The roles are completely configurable by tables, sections, forms, reports, and fields Automated notifications and subscription emails are available and customizable Very quick learning curve.

Cons: Does not currently allow multiple languages (e.g. Japanese, Mandarin, Cyrillic characters). Notifications do not allow for multiple reports in one email. They could expand the formula functionality.

Comments: If you are looking for an out of the box product, this may not be for you. If you looking for a solution that gives you a flexible solution that you can develop your own solution and at a cost effective price, it's worth taking Quickbase for a spin.

Pros: This platform is flexible and there are loads of templates to start from. Cost is very low when you use QB as a platform and consolidate all your silos of data into one repository and do something with it that you would not be able to do otherwise.

Cons: There is a lot of online documentation, but its not nearly as comprehensive and organized as I would like. I am always able to Google my issue and find enough information to resolve my issue. The last printed book was nearly 10 years ago.

Comments: We were using an online database software that was set to expire. We found QuickBase as a solution to our database needs but found out that it could do so much more and take our business to a new level. The easy to use interface of QuickBase allowed for our team to create and manage our new database/project management tool with minimal support from our IT department. QuickBase allowed for creative solutions that had previously been uneasily addressed. we will continue to expand our use of QuickBase and find new areas where it can help improve business efficiency.

Pros: Customization Flexibility Import data Easy to Learn and Use Security

Cons: Custom code Many to Many relations between records

Comments: We had two completely separate people-databases, one for sales management and one for customer management. Careful setup of tables and apps in QuickBase allowed us to merge all the data from both databases into one very clean system, accessible by both sales staff and support/admin people. Conversion and data migration took a while, not because of QuickBase but because of how horridly "dirty" the data were on the sales management side. Garbage in, garbage out. Now, with QuickBase, there is no garbage! One of the best parts is that each user can generate the reports that s/he needs without having to plow through convoluted interfaces and meaningless table names, and without having to write SQL queries or ask for one to be written. We are thrilled to have found QuickBase and can't imagine how we got along without it.

Pros: Very easy report generation, responsive filters, amazing search functionality. QuickBase reps, both sales and tech support, are wonderful. Great value for the price!

Cons: Initial app setup without prior knowledge of database structure theory can be challenging. But don't let that scare you away!

Comments: Quickbase has become a huge asset to our company. Our daily workflow is both monitored and directed through our application, and our documentation has been improved because of it. We have found that Quickbase increased our punctuality and our direction.

Pros: Nearly unlimited possibilities if you have the time to invest. Many pre-defined applications and tables can be used until you have the time to properly set up your own. Great technical support team that will work with you.

Cons: It can take a significant amount of time to accomplish what you want, be careful to schedule and monitor the time you spend building/modifying tables. Third party integration is limited and other companies that provide these solutions are expensive.

Comments: We use custom apps developed through Quickbase on a daily basis. It has revolutionized our workflows and automated many tasks that used to be manual processes. We are able to audit our data using reporting tools to ensure accuracy. Data is easily imported in and out of the database, reports are customizable, and alerts can be automatically sent to users. We are continually seeking new ways to improve efficiency using Quickbase! Highly recommend it to anyone with data that needs a home.

Pros: Easy to use, customizable, great customer support and community.

Cons: Ad-hoc reporting limitations - sometimes need to use third-party partners/consultants to accomplish goals.

Comments: We used Quickbase when we needed a Project Management tool during an ERP implementation. We started with one of the downloadable templates and customized it to fit our needs. It quickly grew and worked great for managing tasks and issues, bug tracking, and change requests. Users picked up on the interface quickly so it was widely used right from the beginning. We were able to produce some nice reports along the way, making sure upper management knew the progress of the project the whole time. We've since went on to develop apps we continue to use for production and quality tracking, and have additional apps in the works.

Pros: Easy to implement, customize, and expand. Simple and clean interface. Easy to develop reports and quickly display them on the 'dashboard'.

Cons: I would like to have more BI tools but that's not what QB is intended to do.

Comments: QuickBase allowed us to streamline many internal process and workflows. We now use QuickBase for almost anything from small project management, internal support ticket systems, marketing campaign management, lead retrieval and event registration to large-scale in-product workflow.

Pros: No programming needed to create custom forms, databases and experiences. Easy reporting capabilities. Regular releases with new features. Quick to respond Customer Care.

Cons: Learning curve for non-technical users. Easy enough that employees will start creating one-off applications to fit their exact needs.

Comments: What can I say other than our company would not be able to function today without QuickBase. We live on the moto that with QuickBase if you can think it, it will do it. QuickBase has allowed us to increase sales and profits, reduce costs by constantly flagging issues that may need our attention. Overall it's a great product.

Pros: Tech support is great. At first when I heard that tech support was done on line and you did not have a phone number to call I was very skeptical. But it turned out to work amazingly well. It is so easy to create and modify applications.

Cons: QuickBase does not have a mobile solution. I can't use for example an iPhone app or Droid based app to access my data. It can be done but would require a 3rd party.

Comments: When my company switched over to QuickBase we were coming from managing project via excel spreadsheets. The process of creating a project management database was simple. As we have grown and become familiar with using a database we have been able to easily customize our app to our specific situation. This process is made very easy through customer support and an avid user base who are willing to help with even the smallest questions.

Comments: QuickBase is great for a cheap(price wise) online database. It works similarly to Access, but it is online natively and thus more accessible as a CRM or ERP system. To get a basic system up can take a matter of minutes, and with the api you can extend quickbase in the future.

Pros: 1) The ability to get off the ground and run is unbeatable. 2) Creating forms is super easy, and the form manager makes it fairly easy to add special form rules 3) The API opens up the short fails of the system

Cons: 1) To get the full customization you need to utilize the api on a server as quickbase doesn't have a automated systems as of yet(formula based programming cannot trigger items)

Quickbase is worth the investment

Comments: Quickbase has literally changed the way we do business for the better. Coming from a spreadsheet environment with a limited access database where we were literally triplicating/quadruplicating efforts across many different departments its night and day. There is a small learning curve with quickbase and i would say that you should at least enjoy the idea of building out a better overall process for your company to do business with. The $500 a month for premiere seems steep and its definitely a tough pill to get passed upper management in a small business but the amount of time it can save and the deduplication (Detriplication/dequadriplication) in my case was more than worth it.

Pros: DEEP customization to tailor your database exactly how your business needs to work. Great support, Great community, and Great partners available for when the database grows beyond the scope of what one person can do on their own.

Cons: Entry price for premiere is highly restrictive. If they lowered the required users to 10 ($250 a month) instead of 20 for premiere they would dominate the space (Overtime) no questions asked.

Ease of time and team management

Comments: Our organization grew over the years though various mergers inheriting various different methodologies of task and time management. We spent years trying to seamlessly integrate each new unit/division into our existing structure without any success, square pegs round holes. QuickBase has allow us to customize each units frontend interface and have is feed the backend without each team sacrificing anything. Now end of year report are generated automatically where they used to take weeks to prepare.

Pros: Customization, real-time reporting, ease of time and team management.

Cons: Some quirks to learn when customizing, but once those are known it really isn't a issue.
