### "A Must for Every Small Business or Busy Family!"

April 20, 2026

5.0

Love it! It is a great way to share information, organize multiple file types into a single place. The ability to create pages to help with organizing and the templates and design ideas are great.

Pros

I just love this idea of a central place for my employees to go to for information and training. Sharepoint is pretty easy to use, but there is a learning curve. The templates are super-useful too. I use it also to keep information for certain projects as well as our sub-entities. Much nicer than a folder on the computer or in OneNote or other similar. Organizing with web pages is so easy and actually fun to create.

Cons

I have found that, once I create/upload a document into the document library, I cannot drag and drop it into a folder.

### "Microsoft SharePoint – The Backbone of Our Company’s File Management and Collaboration"

June 4, 2026

4.0

Pros

As an IT Professional managing infrastructure and productivity tools for a mid-sized company, SharePoint (as part of Microsoft 365) has become our central hub for document storage, team collaboration, intranets, and business processes.

Cons

Sync issues occur frequently on macOS products, excel or word. Also the app will close out and items will go weeks without syncing.

### "Functional, but not a major differentiator"

April 26, 2026

3.0

Standard usage around managing shared document libraries, team sites, version control and internal knowledge bases, without highly complex reporting, customization or governance needs.

Pros

Microsoft SharePoint covers the expected basics for managing shared document libraries, team sites, version control and internal knowledge bases. The feature set is coherent, especially around permissions, and it can be useful when the organization mainly needs a practical operational solution.

Cons

My main reservation is that requires clear folder/site structure. For standard needs it is acceptable, but for a more advanced finance, audit, reporting or governance-oriented use case, complementary controls may still be needed.

### "SharePoint in the Workplace"

March 23, 2026

5.0

Overall SharePoint is a beneficial program within the workplace for group file management. This program works for small groups as well as larger groups and can be controlled based on user permissions which allows the ability to set up multiple libraries. Unfortunately there can be a rather steep learning curve for new users and larger libraries do not perform to the same level as smaller ones.

Pros

Having all shared documents in one location on cloud-based software has been instrumental in effective team work. Having the ability to create multiple folders and also manage them based on security and permissions has significantly decreased the number of emails with potentially confidential attachments. All users who understand and are comfortable with SharePoint love the ability to search for specific documents rather. Furthermore, having the ability to use it on a web based platform as well as having "folders" within Windows allows users to use the software in an individualized way. We have folders that are accessible to only 4 employees and some that are accessible to 20 employees and they both function well.

Cons

The largest issue with SharePoint is the learning curve. It can be quite difficult for new users to navigate, specifically those who are less tech savvy. The inability to customize the software based on user can at times be difficult to manage. While SharePoint is a Microsoft product, it can be confusing to employees that they potentially have two places to save documents (OneDrive and SharePoint). Unfortunately, larger libraries can be slower when searching and/or syncing.

### "Powerful Tool for Collaboration"

May 2, 2026

4.0

Pros

What I like most about Microsoft SharePoint is how well it handles document management. It makes it easy to store, organize, and share files within a team without worrying about losing track of different versions. Everything stays in one central place, which is very helpful for collaboration. In terms of value for money, it works well as part of the Microsoft ecosystem since it combines multiple tools in one platform, especially for teams already using Microsoft 365. Ease of use is decent once you get familiar with it. The setup can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but after regular use, navigating libraries and folders becomes more manageable. The user interface is functional and structured, even if it does not always feel modern. It is more focused on utility than design, which works fine for work environments. Customer support is generally helpful through Microsoft resources, and there is a lot of documentation available when issues come up. There are occasional bugs or performance delays, but they are not very frequent in daily use. Most basic tasks like uploading, sharing, and editing files work reliably. Calendar and scheduling features are useful for team coordination, especially when integrated with other Microsoft tools, making it easier to manage shared events and deadlines in one place.

Cons

What I like least about Microsoft SharePoint is that performance can be a bit slow at times, especially when dealing with larger files or multiple users working at the same time. It is not constant, but it can interrupt workflow when it happens. The user interface feels a bit outdated compared to other modern tools, which makes navigation less smooth than expected. There are also moments where permissions and access settings become confusing, especially in larger teams, and it takes extra effort to manage who can see or edit what.

### "Empowering Collaboration with SharePoint"

May 14, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with Microsoft SharePoint has been positive, particularly in supporting collaboration and providing centralized access to documents. It serves as a reliable platform for teams to share information, co-author files in real time, and maintain a single source of truth. The ability to access content from anywhere and integrate with other Microsoft 365 tools significantly enhances productivity and teamwork. However, issues with document checkout and difficulty finding files can sometimes impact productivity.

Pros

Easy collaboration, centralized document management, strong security & data protection, access anywhere, workflow automation and integration with Microsoft 365.

Cons

Users sometimes can’t check out or edit documents, especially when files are locked or permissions aren’t clear. This can slow down collaboration and create confusion about who owns the file.

### "A good product but buggy at times."

April 29, 2026

Overall i would say its positive, but not amazing. The bugs do make it annoying at times and makes you wonder why something so simply can be buggy.

Pros

Great for document management and relatively easy to use. A necessity if you are a Microsoft shop or use Outlook

Cons

Can be a bit buggy at times when collaborating, has syncing issues, and challenges with uploading files with similar names.

I use Microsoft Sharepoint daily to upload documents and update links on the site. I also provide access for termed users OneDrive link to their supervisors or anyone who is taking over their tasks.

Pros

Microsoft Sharepoint gives you the ability to host app, department/team sites, forms, and web links while also being integrated within Microsoft OneDrive.

Cons

Microsoft Sharepoint can be slow to load somedays depending on what time of the day you're accessing it. We also have frequent issues with users who upload a new profile photo to the directory taking several days to sync and eventually show up throughout Sharepoint.

### "SharePoint Does A Lot, But Can Be Frustrating"

December 15, 2025

4.0

SharePoint is a great singular application that can take care of many needs. This can lead to the application being bloated, but also very useful. Permissions are hard to get right, but this just means taking extra time upfront. In addition, support for SharePoint is very good, with a good amount of documentation available.

Pros

SharePoint does document management, intranet, and a low-code platform all-in-one. This makes it a one-stop shop for your organization to have their sites, files, and documents in a single location.

Cons

The permission system can be a nightmare to get right. Permissions are not always inherited properly with group permissions and individual permissions being difficult to manage. In addition, you have to deal with M365 groups vs SharePoint groups.

Reason for choosing Microsoft SharePoint

### "Empowering Collaboration with SharePoint’s Seamless Integration"

June 20, 2025

5.0

Overall, it’s been a reliable and scalable solution for team collaboration and content sharing. Whether managing document libraries, implementing workflows, or administering user permissions, SharePoint provides a solid foundation that grows with the organization’s needs. It’s clear that Microsoft continues to enhance the platform with usability and integration in mind.

Pros

What stands out most is SharePoint’s ability to centralize collaboration and content management across an organization. Its seamless integration with Microsoft 365, customization options, and robust permission control make it a highly flexible platform. As an IT engineer, the ease of configuring workflows through Power Automate and managing site architecture is a huge plus.

Cons

If there’s one area for improvement, it would be the initial learning curve for end users. While SharePoint is powerful, some users may find navigation or customization daunting without guidance. Thankfully, with proper onboarding and support, this becomes a manageable hurdle.

### "SharePoint"

May 21, 2025

5.0

SharePoint has come a long ways over the past 15 years and has generally been a positive step in the right direction.

Pros

SharePoint makes it easy for us to collaborate as a team, manage all of our company data and share things as needed. It allows us to have a familiar layout while being fully cloud-based, making it easier for end-users to transition to.

Cons

Sometimes things fall out of sync without the end user knowing it's not working and creating shortcuts into OneDrive should be stopped so end users don't cause themselves larger issues.

### "A Solid, Collaborative Platform with Room to Grow"

March 16, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Microsoft SharePoint has been positive, as it provides a reliable and flexible platform for organizing documents, collaborating with teams, and managing information across an organization; its integration with Microsoft 365 makes sharing and version control straightforward, and features like customizable sites and automated workflows help streamline daily tasks, though it can feel complex at first and occasionally requires some configuration to get the most out of it.

Pros

Microsoft SharePoint shines most in how effortlessly it brings teams, documents, and workflows together in one organised, secure space, making collaboration feel far more streamlined. Its tight integration with Microsoft 365—especially Teams, OneDrive, and Outlook—means files stay synced, version control is automatic, and people can co‑author without worrying about duplicates or lost changes. SharePoint’s customisable sites and libraries make it easy to build hubs, dashboards, or intranet pages that actually fit how a team works, while its powerful permissions and governance tools help keep information safe and well‑structured. The platform’s ability to automate processes through Power Automate adds another layer of efficiency, turning repetitive tasks into smooth, reliable workflows.

Cons

The least satisfying part of working with Microsoft SharePoint is how complex and unintuitive it can feel, especially for users who aren’t already familiar with Microsoft’s ecosystem. The interface often requires too many clicks to perform simple tasks, and managing permissions—while powerful—can become confusing and time‑consuming, leading to accidental access issues or bottlenecks. SharePoint’s customisation options, though extensive, sometimes introduce inconsistencies or break easily when updates roll out, which can frustrate teams relying on stable intranet pages or workflows. Performance can also vary, with occasional slow load times for large libraries or heavily customised sites. Despite these challenges, many of them become easier to manage once a team has clear governance and training in place.

### "Powerful collaboration platform, but complex to manage"

April 13, 2026

Pros

It centralizes document management and collaboration in one place. It integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365, making file sharing, version control, and real-time co-authoring very efficient for teams.

Cons

### "SharePoint for one and all"

November 17, 2025

5.0

SharePoint is a great tool to use because it has such a wide capability of things that it can do Such as document management, note taking and text editing, and file management. The downside of course is the lack of a universal link, but I think that is something maybe SharePoint can't consider adding into its future.

Pros

SharePoint is such a great tool for note taking and text editing which includes document management and file management. It allows me to edit files in real time so that users can see updates immediately. It also allows me to ensure that files can be shared and viewed by users and select who has what kind of access capability to the file.

Cons

What I like least about SharePoint is that because the links are tied into the file name and folder location that if the file name or folder location changes the link changes and the previous link is now broken. What I would like to see is an improvement of a universal link that allows updates to be made to the file and its location and yet the previous link can still function because it is a universal link.

### "Used an intranet"

December 22, 2025

4.0

Our company uses it as an intranet, with each department having its own page. It is easy to share documents and information between departments.

Pros

It is easy to share files with others and to track versions. I also like the calendar feature, making it easy to share appointments with others.

Cons

Navigating it can be confusing, but that may be how our IT department configured it. There used to be a feature that let you copy documents to another folder and have any changes to the original sync to the copy. I cannot find this feature now.

### "Seamless Storage Experience "

March 16, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with SharePoint has been great over the last 12 months. I have not had any issue, so I cannot attest to Microsoft's customer service support. However, it should be commendable that I have never had to reach out.

Pros

We use Microsoft SharePoint for storing all our organization files. What we like the most is the ability to login from anywhere or any device to access, manage, and store our files.

Cons

Only downside of SharePoint is that for it to work it requires an internet connection at all times. So if internet is down so is your business operations. I would recommend storage on site as a backup for this purpose.

Pros

### "Can't imaging life without SharePoint! "

October 16, 2025

4.0

We have had a good experience. Like every program, there have been some snags, but they have been minimal. We were able to switch from paper files, to completely electronic files using SharePoint. It has totally changes our work flow and process for the better.

Pros

SharePoint is one of those programs that makes life easier. I find it very easy to use, dependable, and great for file and document management. We made the switch during covid, and it was the best thing we ever did. I like how easy it is to search and access files, and manage files as well.

Cons

There used to be some bugs in the system, like issues with savings documents to files and saving the most recent versions of documents, but they have made great improvement with those issues. Microsoft is very good at making improvements as time goes on and listening to their customers.

### "A great intranet for your business with customizable branding and look that matches your brand"

June 9, 2025

4.0

Great for building an Intranet- like experience for your business. Custom branding, but SPO list restrictions limit scalability, best suited for small teamers/organizations to get their feet wet in the o365 suite of products

Pros

SharePoint Online excels in document storage and customizable branding, enhancing collaboration for smaller businesses with seamless Microsoft 365 integration with other office applications

Cons

Limitations with SPO lists hinder complex data management; performance lags with large datasets and workarounds confuse less tech-savvy users. For Example it's not an ideal datasource for larger applications to use sharepoint online lists as datasources

I have used Sharepoint at every organization I have been in; yet it always does what it's intended to do. Slight issues with integrations and fluidity.

Pros

I like to be able to access shared files all in one place and the ease to move them around and update as needed.

Cons

Sometimes the updates to files aren't immediate or they get stuck. My main issue is when files get moved or deleted on file finder but then they don't reflect on the web or vice versa.
