However, we are finding it difficult to use the same tool to tackle both audiences without a lot of duplication of effort. The ability to integrate with Outlook and other Microsoft products is ideal, but the layout features leave a lot to be desired. Pros Sharepoint allows many users in an organization to have access to important announcements, calendars, files, and information whether they are offsite or onsite. Cons Sharepoint is difficult to customize to get the format and layouts that look best. It does not scale well to mobile and I wish there were easy setups for permissions levels. For example, posting an announcement to a sub-page does not post the same announcement to a main page, or you can't post the same thing and choose which users it appears to. This causes duplication of effort. Pros I love the ease in searching for documents in Sharepoint. I also like that I can update the file and someone else can also update it. You always get the most current version. It tells you when it was last updated which is also a nice feature. Cons I can't say anything negative about Share Point. I really like the easy to use document management software. Pros Sharepoint is the easiest way of sharing files. It enables users to share large documents as well as spreadsheets conveniently to others. Another biggest advantage is that its' layout is really very easy and not tough like other products. Furthermore it is the most reliable way for storing important documents that saves our precious time. Cons I really feel happy and comfortable to use this product. It is absolutely user friendly. So I just love to use this. It is a flawless product. Has more power and features than we know what to do with. Cons Wish it easily integrated better with File Explorer. You can do this by switching to classic view, libraries and then open folder in File Explorer - then you can create a shortcut to the folder in shortcuts. Basic functionality to share and organize documents in an organization is available and has good security features. Cons It's clunky to use and is limited in functionality. There's limited customization on SharePoint sites - at least for non tech-savvy users. If you look at SharePoint vs a website building template site out there (wix, squarespace, etc), Sharepoint pales in comparison. Obviously, these aren't for the same use, but you get a sense of the design customizability we're lacking here. Even people my age get accustomed to it very well. You no longer have to think where the info you need may be located, just make an agreement within the team to share all on one Share point page and it will always be there, without you having to memorize any trivia. Cons Sometimes it does not allow the option to sync or when you import images they mess up the entire page, perhaps the option to offer in which size to import would be a good one. Sharepoint is a great way to keep track of your files and presenting them in a visually appealing way. Pros I use SharePoint daily to document and maintain our landing page for my team. We use SharePoint for storing data, training sessions, job aids, and more. SharePoint lets you create websites easier even if you do not have the ability or experience in creating websites. Cons It takes some time to get used to especially if you do not have experience in Web Design. We upload documents and use it as a master repository. It also makes version control easy. There’s a lot to like! But it’s not a tool that satisfies every need. Pros Ease of use. Generally, it’s simple to navigate and build. Cons The document storage features left me wanting. My work is project based and has to be indexed not only by projects, but by year, by status, and so on. It’s complex! Sharepoint just isn’t the ideal place for this type of thing. I am able to check my emails, upload documents, look at what my coworkers are up to, and post updates to my groups. I enjoy the various apps that are available within the program and the ability to customize your site. Cons I have had no issues with SharePoint. It seems that the "super users" have found shortcuts, workarounds, and product pairings to turn SharePoint into a strong organizational tool. As someone who was in the search for the best product offerings for my growing team, SharePoint was not worth the investment in either time or resources. Cons There is a low barrier to entrance for users of the product, but I found the administration of it to be difficult. Files and other shared content piled up in increasingly cluttered structures until we just pulled the plug. I have seen it successfully used, but it was just not the right fit for our workflows. It is also organized in a very simple way that makes all of our product information easily accessible to the employees. Pros I really liked that the share point website that my company uses is updated in real-time. If a mistake is found on our company wide Internet, then it is easy for our web team to go in and fix the problem immediately. Cons Editing some of the data on our Internet through SharePoint can be sort of tedious at times. Some webpages cannot be mass changed and need to be opened up individually.
