The organization it provides has eliminated unnecessary situations, as it allows everyone to have access to documents and share them across company, and allowed us to keep better cross departmental communication.

Pros

We love the ease of SharePoint as well as it's functionality. Everything is very straight forward and offers you the opportunity to keep your documents organized and in a safe spot that everyone has access to.

Cons

Occasionally we have issues with updating things on SharePoint and the network being offline, but I believe that is more of an internal error.

Pros

The best thing about Sharepoint is that folder/file URLs follow the same format as the folder hierarchy, so it is very easy to modify links when you are including many links in an email or reference document. It's also great at managing small databases. I also found it useful that you could "lock" a file for editing to ensure versions did not become corrupted by multiple users working on the file at the same time.

Cons

It was a bit challening to learn how to use Sharepoint, but our department did successfully move all our files over to Sharepoint and had 100% Sharepoint saving within a few years of adoption. Other teams did not make the transition very quickly though.

The ease of use and intuitiveness of this program is the standout feature for me. I am able to collaborate with my work group in real time.

Cons

Sharepoint makes collaboration very easy. However , the CHECKOUT feature prevents me from editing documents with my colleagues at the same time.

The ability to create a subsite that hosts our internal wiki page has been a life saver. We are also migrating all of our share documents to sharepoint saving us money.

Cons

setup of Sharepoint takes a pretty knowledgeable IT person. Once the infrastructure was setup the rest is pretty easy.

Pros

I really like all the features of SharePoint. For example, you can create a survey to collect RSVPs for an employee event, or you can create a team directory/contact list. I mostly use this to share large, confidential files with coworkers. It's easy to just send them a link to the file.

Cons

The check in/check out feature is a bit cumbersome when multiple people need to make changes to a document. As a result, I don't really use SharePoint for documents that need to be edited.

We have recently started using this about 4 months ago, and while we are still working on ways to leverage it. This has been very beneficial when it comes to scheduling for everyone, that was the primary reason as well as storing secure documents on the cloud.

Pros

\- Ability to create internal sites based on departments and even a general landing page for all staff - Calendars! we have always had this problem but now everyone can go online see what is going on and make changes or schedule meetings - The security that it offers makes us feel at ease when it comes to sharing sensitive material

Cons

\- Not entirely easy to use and does require at least one person with solid know-how of SharePoint

Pros

Easy to store, share, and update files as a team. Fine for collaboration and group work on single documents.

Cons

The UX/UI could have been much improved; super slow, regardless of the network used, and the search functionality was really inaccurate.

Great to use to hear feedback before final product.

Pros

Just worked on a project that was clearly going to need many edits before the final idea could be rolled out, and SharePoint was great to test out the preliminary rounds. It was as easy as sending out the link to access the project and then they could send feedback and everything through the features. Keeping it secretive before the final was easy as well.

Cons

User permissions when the project wasn't available to everyone could cause some issues. Responses from user are not good when you send them something and they don't have access to it. The features can be a bit difficult to understand.

All my company's files that they share with the sales field are located on this platform. Easy to get files as long as you have an internet connection and know what you're looking for.

Pros

Can store lots of information. If you have a good system for organizing you can easily find what you're looking for.

Cons

The search tool is not robust enough. You can't use it on the home page and must click into a sub category in order to enable searching. Can be tedious to hunt for the right file.

Pros

SharePoint allows a department to create a personalized site representing what they do. Adding web parts, calendars, folders and images (JPEG, PNG and GIF) are easy. Additionally, the feature to add a search box is great, whereby it looks for anything in or out a folder with the specific search criteria.

Cons

The software could work on an easier way of identifying deleted web parts. There could be multiple web parts named the same thing deleted, yet there is no way of knowing which one was most recently deleted.

My experience with sharepoint has been great.This is our primary file repository and it is very easy to add, remove and maintain the versions of the files.

Pros

I like the file versioning the most. I am able to store all the versions of the file independently and it is very useful for my file loss recovery and maintenance of the files.

Cons

The sharing abilities are lacking on this platform. You have to copy the link and send it to your team mates and they also need to have access to the link as opposed to sharing the documents with others from the UI.
