Pros I was the SP admin before our company changed hands. Reliability is what I like most. We type up SOPs for everyone on our massive team, and keep them organized on SP. It is good to know that whenever an issue arises for something that may have happened last year, or we need a configuration for an old switch that has crashed, I feel confident that it will be right where it is supposed to be on SP. and I personally have never seen SP crash in the last 5 years. Cons The interface has changed with O365, and it is a little more difficult to work with, but this is not really a con, because once if figured it out I had zero complaints Review Source ER Eve R. Posting to the boards is helpful bringing the outer building feel as we are one. Pros We use SharePoint for improving internal communications. Great tool for posting company announcements and to keep the documentation in one place so they could be easily accessible to every department. I like the integration with Outlook Calendar because I'm able to share calendars and create calendar for community sign ups. I like that here I can find the information I need for my company such as vacation days. Cons Limited functionality and could have an improved facelift or better looking interface for users to use. Should be able to freeze the column headers to know what I'm looking at in a long list. There is a massive store of data in most environments that relies on SharePoint to process workflows. If you are familiar with the product you will find updates and newer versions very similar. Cons The entire process feels old. The context of the product doesn't feel like it has been significantly updated and there are other products that are far easier to use with greater benefit. You can upload almost any type of file in one place and share it with everyone. Cons Sometimes Sharepoint can be somewhat clunky and with a little bit of a learning curve. Keep track of changes made by different user providing versions history which is good feature. Cons Not user friendly.Little difficult to understand the structure . I also love SharePoint lists and the flexibility they provide. Cons Overall SharePoint is great but it can be complicated to accomplish more advanced customization on your pages. I have used SharePoint on-premise and SharePoint Office365 and find it is more difficult to customize the Office365 version. It's also very frustrating that the SharePoint app does not display task lists the same way you see them online, the app does not show sub tasks :(. Review Source YY Yuriy Y. Lack of standardization is so painfully obvious. Everyone is left wondering, "Where on earth do I find anything." Requires a lot of - substantial - user training and expertise to make the tool truly useful. An overpriced and oversold dump of incoherent information. Pros Allows to keep track of multiple collaboration sites in one place. Cons SharePoint has to be the most counter-intuitive tool on the market. Nothing make sense. I love that you can edit the documents right in the software! It really makes sharing work documents much easier. It can be modified to formats and accessibility to end users. The benefit is that the program can house confidential information and can be locked that items cannot be printed without the appropriate access. Pros The program is extremely easy to navigate. The set up and formatting are flexible and allow you to customize based upon the need and purpose for the program. Cons At times adding users by having to search for their emails is time consuming. October 19, 2019 4.0 Overall Sharepoint has helped us successfully oversee the tasks of the projects be completed and has helped us be organized in the process, allowing us to clearly show the clients what was done and in what time frame. Pros I liked that I can purpose Sharepoint as an Issue Tracking System for our Projects, along with simply organizing it as a place where important documentation was stored for other team members to see and modify. The integration with Microsoft suite made it perfect to simply open on Microsoft software and have the convenience of the saving of the document to be automatically uploaded on the sharepoint without having to reupload again. Cons You have to tailor it best for your project, so lots of customization involved depending on what your needs are can eat up a lot of your time.
