Pros: It is very customizable for any company. It is easy to create invoices, proposals, and change between the two.

Cons: It is hard to get through to customer service sometimes, which can be frustrating especially if you have a quick question.

Pros: Fantastic for small to medium sized businesses. The ¿all-in-one¿ design linking everyday use and accounting is what truly sets Wintac apart from the other guys. No secondary financial software needed unless you choose so. No monthly fees to worry about, everything is straight forward.

Comments: We have been using Wintac for 5 years now. I think this solution may be best for small 2-5 tech companies.

Pros: Easy to use and navigate on in-house software solution. Dispatch is simple and diversified options for multiple job locations under one parent customer.

Cons: Web portal leaves a ton of room for improvement in navigation for technicians. Logs out quickly and is hard to add line items.

Great software, but not very user-friendly, and takes time to learn.

Pros: Dispatch board makes it very easy to see how many calls are on the board, and how many are completed.

Cons: It takes a very long time to learn. We have been using the software the last 25 years. I've only been with the company for 3 years, and still learning some of the major features.

Pros: This tool manages work orders, accounting, tools, personnel, vehicles and more! It has an easy to use web interface for mobile accessing too!

Cons: The only thing that I don't like about this software is that it can look kinda funky at times. Well worth it though!

Pros: Customer service is really good. It's a great way to keep service techs organized and to help us know where our employees are.

Cons: It takes a while to get into the support if you have a problem, but they are all very helpful once you get them.

Comments: Things I'd like to see: Ability to use the Square app within the program for credit cards payments. Abiltiy to use the mapping app of our choice (Waze is my favorite) I thought someone asked at some point about a web based program. I've used that to manage Boy Scout troops and it seems like a good idea. In the Web Portal, when a tech has a customer sign the WIP, there is no way for the main computer (in the office) to keep a record of it unless it is emailed to the office, opened, and saved. Also, since this is the only way to save it on the main computer, it would be nice to be able to choose to have all signed WIPs automatically mailed to an office email address. In the Web Portal, it would be nice to be able to advance a WIP from one day to the next and to be able to look at "yesterday's" jobs instead of looking at the entire "last week". I hated rating you with some 4s on the survey, before the SQL thing, it would have been all 5s.

Pros: Wintac has very good customer service. They have always helped me with my problems and seem to be continuously working to make it a better program. I recently added the Web Portal and I love being able to check the schedule when I'm on the road.

Cons: I really enjoy using Wintac. My only big issue was working out the kinks with the change to the SQL Database. It was/is a little frustrating at times.

Comments: We have been using Wintac for 17 years. I think that alone tells you how they are.

Pros: All in one software. Very comprehensive, but is adaptable to what you want to use and what you don't. The customer service side is great. I have never not been able to get help on something.

This software is perfect for our HVAC business.

Comments: We have been using this software for 10 years. As we have grown and changed, the software has changed yet remained the same. So we have been able to go almost paperless in the field while still using the same software.

Pros: Very easy to use. The software is upgraded every year. Everything we need is in one program. Great support if any issues arise.

Cons: The conversion to the SQL version has not been as easy has we had hoped. I also feel like online support has been a much longer wait this year. But after 10 years, this is the only complaint I have.

Comments: I would like to see all report in Wintac available in excel format or at least be able to easily convert with Adobe converter.

Pros: Access to techs in the field. Company information is on your server and not on a third party held by a monthly fee.

Cons: Multiple issues with updates. With every update there seems to be an issue with an existing feature of Wintac. We have to wait for multiple updates before the error is corrected. Updates do not come out at regular intervals as promised by tech support.

Pros: There are a few things that i like most about Wintac and it's the way the invoicing is entered and then printed, the items can be brought up to see amounts if need and the labor can be reveiwed to make sure the totals are correct

Pros: Prepares proposals with ease. We use it primarily with job tracking and setup and for writing proposals to our customers.

Cons: accounting function not as robust as our needs require. We supplement Wintac with QuickBooks for accounting. Wintac is for the operation side of the business

Pros: Wintac is easy to use and makes it simple to have a good workflow for HVAC. Everything you need to run your business is there.

Cons: We have had good success with the product and recommend it regularly. If we had to pick a negative thing to say it would be that the previous Access backend wasn't the best - but now the current version has a SQL backend.

Comments: We have been needing this in our office for such a long time

Pros: Once you are set up & in working order the office / dispatch problems are no longer problematic. Calls can be scheduled, times for the field can be tracked, we love the recurring schedules options as well.

Cons: Hard to set up - it takes a lot of work. You MUST separate implementation from your daily routine so you can focus.

Easy operation and if there are any issues the support is quick.

Cons: Mostly everything. It freezes, it sends error messages, it crashes the system, I have to completely restart my computer because it will crash and then not let me login when it reopens.
Customers will call in with questions and it takes me 5-10 minutes to open up their file. It's a computer software it should be quick and easy! It is not.
It will delete files out of the system, on it's own. BEWARE.
Last time I talked to customer support, the tech was illiterate. He couldn't even type full sentences or spell words correctly. And he told me to look for some file under some sort of name that he wasn't even sure of.

Overall: Just stress.

Pros: The dispatching and easy access to Wintac. Like all the features of being able to find additional programs that work for us.

Comments: I suggest you look at softwares like Service Fusion, HouseCall Pro, Fleetmatics WORK, Salesforce.com, Dataforma, Quickbooks Field Service Management, etc. They look current, have great integration with Google maps, automated alerting to the customers, client portals, better app functionality, much easier to use and more intuitive, multiple tabs open at once, Overall blows Wintac out of the water. When we first got Wintac it was great. But it just hasn't developed as quickly as the market has. We are considering moving to a different software.

Pros: The software has all the basic features we need like quoting, scheduling, inventory, and invoicing..

Cons: None of the features are robust, current compared to other softwares, easy to use, functional, etc. Features and bug fixes are EXTREMELY slow to come out. The software isn't available in the cloud. There can be long wait times for tech support. You cannot have multiple tabs open.

Pros: This program is great in that everything is connected and all in one place. Technicians can gain access to information when they are in the field.

Comments: As a current user I would cautiously consider this product for purchase for new customers.

Pros: When it works its a good product for the cost. It will do almost all of your basic business operating needs.

Cons: We have been using the product for almost seven years. Ever since switching to the SQL version we have had constant problems with the program. Most recent problem is accounts payable randomly address payments to the wrong vendors without our knowledge untill we have a late payment. Support is sometimes available and thw recent fixes seem to just create more issue's and we are constantly waiting foe the next patch while chasing problems or finding work arounds. The new SQL version has been a thorn in our side and is costing us money due to all the additional labor we are having to use to go back and redo work.

Comments: the software has allowed us to grow without having to add additional office personnel

Pros: The office personnel does not have to hound the service technicians to explain their handwriting on invoices anymore. Saves upwards of 40 hrs per week because of reduced duplication of entries. Works well with quick books

Cons: some searches do not always yield the same results for the same criteria. When going to some screens the placement of the cursor could be changed.

Software is great except there are a few glitches to be worked out.

Comments: We bought the software thinking there would not be any annual fees but found that there was a substantial annual fee for software upgrades and support.

Pros: Helps organize the scheduling of staff and their assignments. The techs know where they are going so less time is wasted at shop.

Cons: There are several glitches in program. ie. every time we open up the program with a different user we have to do housekeeping before we can get into the program.

Comments: The people at Wintac are easy to work with and very responsive.

Pros: Wintac has an easy to use color coded daily dispatch board. It also has a good Web Portal for techs to use in the field and it is getting better. We enjoy excellent support from their tech services.

Cons: The HVAC Work Order/Invoice does not currently fill in completely, but we understand this is in the works.

Comments: At work, we nicknamed it DOS123. Because that's how it feels. We had Fieldaware before that. But my boss didn't like the service at Fieldaware and also wanted to own the software and not have to pay monthly like most web based systems. That was a good intention but also a huge mistake. This switch cost so much money to our company. Which could've paid for years and years of Fieldaware service.

Pros: The idea of it. We liked the fact that we actually owned the software. But in this day and age. Web based is the way to go.

Cons: not user friendly. Feels like it's built on a 1990 platform. And if you need to work remotely away from the server. Then it's a problem. Also, having multiple branches in multiple time zone what a great problem.

Pros: The program is very user friendly. It is fairly easy to learn and will help stop you from making mistakes. We rely on WINTAC to keep track of information which is vital to our company. This program helps keep accurate information for ourselves as well as our customers. We are able to send most all of our billing out via e-mail , which is a big savings to our company. There are so many tools that are available through WINTAC that we still need to learn and utilize.

Cons: There are times when it is difficult to locate a file. When trying to locate a customer by address it will not always pull information up.

Pros: This program wins out over others we've tested because it's already setup to hold all your vital customer information. It's easier to use a program that is established instead of one that forces you to customize everything yourself. Wintac is easy to use and reliable. We've looked around and we keep coming back to Wintac!

Cons: Wintac sometimes freezes up and has small glitches. We have had to rely on technical support several times over the years to get us back up and running, but they are always more than happy to help via phone, email, or live chat.

Comments: Wintac is easy to use and even after a 7 year lapse I was able to remember how to do everything without training!

Pros: It is very easy to search for customer and vendors. I don't have to fumble around trying to figure out what I am doing. It is right there!

Cons: Some times when I want to print a schedule for my tech or a purchase order it will take a while. I can't do anything else while I am waiting for it to print.

Pros: Simple to use Automatic save Hate that I have to click "All" when searching instead of just pressing enter.

Cons: I don't like that I can't use two screens. I would like to be able to look at two different customer records at the same time. I don't like that it doesn't upload to quick books and I don't like that it doesn't allow me to make custom reports.

Pros: Easy dispatch board for our office staff to look at on a daily basis. We find it real easy to dispatch our techs directly from the WIP's. The field techs are able to invoice & check records easily using the Portal.

Cons: Some portal glitches. When my techs process out it sometimes deletes their time in & replaces it with the time out Some challenges searching thru records & addresses.

Pros: Runs everything you could imagine and has pretty good customization, There are some stupid things I wish we could change, but I think in the long run it won't be a big deal. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AMAZING

Cons: This took me FOREVER to set up and learn how to run. Wintac does an amazing job helping you every step of the way, but the videos they provide get you to a set up point and then you're just "on your own" Unless you contact them directly.

Pros: All in one and wep portal and the ability to manage the day to day operations on the go. The staff (all) have been great to work with.

Cons: Nothing but positive . It takes a little time to get set up and running but I'm not a IT person. Agin the staff excelled

Comments: This software is very powerful and flexible. We started using it in November, rolled to a couple of technicians in December, and phased the rest in between January and April. We have had very little problems. The problems we do have are always related to our hardware or internet provider set up. Even in these issues, Wintac support has been extremely helpful in resolving. Accounting Links to Quick Books was a breeze once we got Wintac support online to help. There were configuration issues in Quick Books. Rather than sending us to Quick Books Support they accessed our Quick Books remotely and changed the settings that were causing our issues. They are really amazing at support.

Pros: Easy to set up. Easy to learn. Great support documentation built in. Wintac online support is really good at getting to the problem and resolving the issue quickly.

Cons: If there is a con, it is that it is not specifically built to our exact company needs. But, that kind specificity is only available if we pay to have someone build a software application proprietary and to our exact needs. That is extremely expensive and beyond the scope of what we really needed. The flexibility of Wintac more than solves these minor issues for us. The price was definitely reasonable. So, the price and flexibility make up for any lack of specific details that we may have "liked".

Pros: We are just converting to this software and so far we think it will work for us when we get it up and running. It's intuitive, easy to use, and will have more to say later.

Cons: Service wait time was 55 minutes the first time calling in. Converting data to excel spreadsheet has been the hardest so far.

I have been using Wintac for at least 10+ years in my business. It has a lot of time & money in the day to day operations.

Cons: The only bad thing I have found is the renewal cost, but everyone has to make money. The tec support is worth the money, if you ever need them.

Pros: The software helps organize the information very well. The customer support and assistance resolving issues is top notch. The option to export data to Microsoft Word or Excel is great.

Cons: It is not easy to use. The search functions aren't the best. The more information, the slower the system operates. Simple tasks seem to require too much time to complete. Errors are difficult to correct. Has not improved in the daily operations of the system, as now tasks take 2-3 times longer to complete than with our previous system. Have not gotten a chance to use the portal for tablets, as each attempt has caused a crash.

Comments: Very satisfied with the product which has effectively evolved over the last dozen years we have used it. Support staff have always come through for us and have been a pleasure to work with.

Pros: Everything we need to conduct our business is available including accounting and payroll. The few issues we have had have been resolved efficiently by the knowledgeable support staff.

Cons: No support available on weekends A program this powerful has a lot of features that take time to learn in order to maximize its usefulness, which is not a bad thing in the end, it just takes time to set it up for optimal performance.

This is the best dispatching & accounting software that we have ever used.

Pros: Love having my techs with tablets. They are invoicing and getting paid right away with (Xcharge Processor) receipting checks, cash, and credit cards. Collection has gotten easier. I've had other dispatching software and this one is the easiest by far.

Cons: I really like the product. The only thing I would love seeing improvement on is the wait time for customer service. Other than that its great.

Overall: We are a company in the Plumbing & HVAC Industry. We switched about 2 years ago to Wintac because we felt it was what we needed to replace our old system that had problems on their server based program that when messed up we couldn't do anything about. This was actually the main reason we considered Wintac because it is based on our servers not theirs so if something messes up we can fix it. If they switch to cloud based like they are thinking it will be really hard for us to keep them with how they currently work. Wintac is pretty decent when it comes dispatching, purchase orders, and one place for all customer information but there is a lot of problems within the program too. First off it messes up a lot during the day a lot of errors and different things. We have to run housekeeping & user refreshes a lot even though they say you don't need to do that anymore with this years version. Also with all the information we have we feel like the system runs slow especially when you do searches. When you try to get a hold of customer support a lot of times they either need to return calls or when you email them rarely do we here back. Live support doesn't work very good either because they just tell you they will let their engineers know and then next update comes around & no fix for the problem. The biggest issue we have though is with the accounting features inside the program. We do not like using secondary programs like Quickbooks & we were told that the accounting within the program was pretty good but it is not. Their reports change all the time even when we have done anything like add income or expenses. Also now with their latest update invoices that have already been paid are showing back up under A/P Bills. It just isn't sufficient enough for accounting.
All in all the program could use a decent amount of work we will stick with them for awhile but if problems like this keep happening it won't be long. A lot of the things that need fixed have either been problems for the 2 years we have had the program or are problems that arise after new updates are put out but then haven't been fixed since the new update was put out. If you are considering this software I would only recommend it based off the fact it is solely on your own server you don't have to worry if their servers go down. Most other companies are ran on their server or are cloud based. If Wintac does that like they are considering I can't recommend them.

Pros: I like the fact that Wintac has: scheduling, accounting, and payroll all in one software. Also, the online help is fantastic! Just start a chat, if you can't get the issue fixed, the tech can remotely log in and help out!

Cons: Some glitches during the major update, slow getting everything worked out. It would be great if the customers had more input on what new changes would be helpful.

Cons: the functionality of the software is very unreliable. Contacting support 5/12/17 I waited in a chatroom line for approx.. 30 minutes to have someone from support chat with me, then I receive this message; attached¿ this is unacceptable. We are trying to run a business, waiting 30 minutes for support on a software that we paid close to $ for support is long enough. Now I have to call support via telephone and wait another 30 minutes for someone to answer my call¿ How does a business run smoothly when its main software is glitchy and then they have to wait almost an hour to get support from your tech team. Very unhappy customer¿

Able to track, and take a proposal to invoice. Love it!!!!

Comments: We have been using Wintac since 2012 and highly recommend it. It works very similar to Microsoft Office and my team caught on really quick. It has been a great change from previous software packages that we had prior to Wintac that required tons of training.

Pros: Customer support is outstanding, followed by the ability to create custom forms using MS Office. The Web Portal is also a favorite feature.

Cons: Would like more options to format data when exporting reports. Easier way to work with Inventory Items when updating warehouses after a physical inventory count.

Pros: it is generally a good product, we like the use of the portal

Cons: the change of the dispatch board, we used to be able to update the dates & enter techs names from the dispatch board, since a couple of upgrades we can no longer do this. also, once you enter a tech assistant and the date they were dispatched, that changes when we reschedule the dispatch board, if they are already dispatched then it should stay on the date they are dispatched

Comments: We are a small HVAC service and replacement company. We first used WINTAC in 2007. Initially it was way more than we needed. But now, ten years later we have grown into the software and all of its a features. Like any data based program, you have to " feed the beast" if you want to get something back. At first it seemed unnecessary and a waste of time to enter the smallest of details about customer, equipment, vehicles, etc. But now, I have ten years of data at my finger tips. I know my customers and their equipment. Wintac has been a valuable partner in the success of our company.

Comments: We are an HVAC company and have used the software since 2002 as our database. Last year we began using the portal which has helped our techs find important info when needed in the evening if the office is closed. we are still trying to implement the use of the portal in the field for techs full time. We have never used the accounting side,our bookkeeper prefers Quick books. The software is very easy to use and can be customized in my different fields to suit your needs. We are a flat rate company and although we use a flat rate program that is not as popular at some of the big names Wintac support was able to create an import utility that allows us to use the flat rate program we wish too. Overall we think it is a very decent software.

Comments: At first the software is overwhelming due to the amount of information it will allow you to customize into the program. With a small amount of persistence and effort this software is amazing to both tech in field and office personnel. Easy to enter fields allow for total customizing of invoices and proposal s to allow for customers to log in and view on the their own, integrated systems are flawless. Will keep easier to navigate with use as in any software but worth the effort.

Comments: Parts and material do not sync with the price book very well and very hard to navigate.

Pros: The dispatching part looks ok. It seems to be geared more towards the office/dispatchers. I can't even update or change customers information.

Comments: Wintac has been very helpful to us. We are able to do everything we need to in order to manage our business. There are some features we don't even know how to use yet because there is that much. I do have a few recommendations for constructive feedback, nothing I hate about it but there is always room for improvement. 1) The customer service team is always fantastic. Lately, however, they have been super busy. You used to be able to get someone on the line right away, but now it's more of an answering service. I would like to see them bring on more staff to accommodate their growing customer base. 2) I would really like to be able to have the dispatch board up in a separate window so I can always see where I have all of my guys, but still be able to navigate through WT. 3) With the many features of wintac, I would love to be able to see more webinars available for training. I feel like we are only scratching the surface.
It would also be neat if Wintac could integrate with gmail or Google calendar.

I love how Wintac is always asking us opinions and implementing our suggestions. Thank you for always being open to listen to our requests.

Comments: Since the SQL release I have had more problems than ever with error codes and Wintac freezing up with a code on the screen. Also have issues with Retained earnings calculations. Call tech support and be ready to wait for a long time. Then if you are lucky you might get to talk to someone, or they say they will call back. Very unsatisfied customer.

Comments: After, reluctantly, forcing ourselves to step into the technological age of in-field software applications, we now realize how difficult we were making our lives by continuing without it for so long. Our dispatcher has real time updates, customers have invoices and payments showing immediately, and our technicians can look up job history or schedule follows ups in very little time. Our company is able to instill confidence in our customers & stability in our income by completing the transaction in the customers home, rather than the old fashioned charge out billing we had used for years. We are quite pleased with Wintac Field Service Software and use it with our 3 service technicians. We had previously used Wintac for our day to day operations for over 10 years and added the Field Service Software about 3 years ago. Wintac has always had exceptional customer service. In our experience, this is what has set them apart from the competition and keeps our company coming back year after year.

Pros: Ease of use. Accessibility for our techs on customer history. Accepting payments. Real-time updating for scheduling purposes.

Cons: The area in which we live is rural. Our technicians don't always have service on the tablets, however, this is not the fault of Wintac. That falls on our carrier. Getting set up was a bit of an issue, but, again, Wintac tech support is always there to help even the most technologically challenged.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it. You won't be disappointed. We are in an age of technology and we all want to grow our businesses. This will help you get there.

Comments: Even though they have been around 25 years but in the service field less 5 yrs - the software has several problems. We had made several attempts to help with issues that we have been having from the beginning of us buying the software. The use of the web side in the field is very slow and becomes jammed when using it. Now if they could put more work on the App version they have it would be more user-friendly. Equipment management is very poor where we would enter equipment model and serial numbers then they would disappear.

Pros: It is an all in one software and has a mobile app.

Cons: Wintac Issues Customer Login: There needs to be an example and explained exactly how the password how it should be set up. When my customers go to set up their logins it does not show how Wintac password set up EXAMPLE ¿ At the Sign up for your new account window ¿ Under Account E-mail it should explain the password parameters. Wintac System: PO ¿ Item code for the Vendor¿s ¿ I have in Business Options checked (PO) ¿ Include Vendor¿s Item Code and it is not printing on the PO Order. A/P & Checking: In Adding a (Journal, writing a check & anything with G/L account) Should have placed another column showing a description of Account description or have it where we can choose to use Division or Description next to Amount. Worker Order: Why is it when we are working in work order and want to see equipment - there is not a place from that screen to look up equipment that is at the location when clicking from dispatch board (we need to be able to get to the equipment from the job site not only from billing information. I want the ability to only see equipment for the jobs site we are on not all equipment unless I am in customer information area. I have one customer that has 2 system on each 80 cabins in the system so when I am looking at work order I cannot just click on that location equipment with going back out to get to customer information then finding the building and then look at the equipment. Poor time management. Task: Building a task the cost sometimes does not transfer from inventory cost and when I zero it out in inventory it does not remove it from the task (when I have it check to update task when inventory is changing) But when I zero it out in the task cost it comes back. Task: Adding in Items & Amounts ¿ If I am Adding let¿s say Freon and need to change Amount or Qty from 1 to 6 the price savings in work description goes away after I make the QTY change to the item (Does not update the price savings or add price) But if I left 1 in QTY it Stays. Task: When building a task from inventory the cost does not show up all the time or if I change cost in inventory it does not change it in the task. But if I change it sometimes it does not stay. If I change HRS/QTY it does not update on work description it removes task information. Equipment: Again we should be able to look at job equipment from Invoice, Work Order on the job site. We have to go out of invoice into customer information then equipment History ¿ I have customers with Multiple job sites ¿ It would be easier just from work order /or Invoice. Notes: There should be at job site SHOULD save in notes area at Job site and Customer information. When you save notes on the jobs site page ¿ IT SHOULD save it also at customer information in case of follow-up work. Saving in Notes are so we can use as reference no matter if new or old work order ¿ invoice ¿ Proposal. Email: Are Emails are going to customer¿s Spam all the time. The Emails are how a customer gets their Bills. In the field ¿ APP or Portal The tech cannot change any information in the field if it needs to be changed ex-address, email, or name spelled wrong. Tablet ¿ APP In the field the APP is faster to use than the web porter. Using the web porter through tablet is like dial up ¿ (if you are old enough to remember) when standing in front of the customer trying to leave the job. My Opinion is to improve the App to input information quickly then upload information once it has been inputted will save time and easier to use. In the app need to be able to upload customer signature and payment information. Because ever little change made on the web porter really slows downs the time we should be doing something else. When we select a task in the field ¿ When the customer has a discount it does not show the regular price then the discount price like it does when doing the invoice in the office computer. APP & Web Porter: We should be able to input or change equipment on the job site SEPARATE from attaching to parts or task that are inputted. We should be able to select equipment we are working on but also be able to add or edit on jobs site! Credit Card: When we are taking credit cards in the field (there should email a receipt to the customer along with invoice). I do not what to here it is Xcharge issue then Xcharge said it is Wintac issue so at this point I wish someone put their big boy pants on and fix it. I have asked both Wintac and Xcharge and both had point fingers to each other. I know the receipt can be emailed because I have been using this way of processing before Square even came out. The receipt shows on the web porter when we run the credit card in field so it should be able to get emailed along with the invoice. Customer Info Field: *Note Box: It automatically puts in a note every time the pay and billing statement. I don¿t want this to happen I want to manually put that in.

Recommendations to other buyers: Nothing is more frustrating in buying a software that you have to call customer support all the time to fix their issues that you are pointing out that needs to be addressed. Now an SQL update has been released and so I will wait to see if they made the improvements that corrected the issues. The cons above was a letter sent back in 5/28/2016 and still as of today no call about the issues that I would have like them to address. Today we still have problems with our customers getting their emails from us through the system. We have tried everything they asked and to the point of us buying Outlook 2016 last week. We are still having issues with emails, so we have to mail invoices to our customers which I was trying to keep from doing!

Comments: We have been using Wintac since 2001 and believe that this is the best software program for our Plumbing and HVAC business.

Comments: We implemented Wintac a little while ago to go paperless and streamline out billing process. Wintac is not an integrated solution but does have a limited transfer to and from QuickBooks. Tech support on average is good. All our issues have been fixed if not immediately, have been fixed in a day or so when the correct support agent is tapped to straighten out our software problems. The online support is pretty good and quite often connects to my computer to fix the problems, and usually shows me how to correct the problem I was having. Had a few problems with the Web portal, but most of the troubles have been corrected. Do use the Wintac app. It has a bug capturing signatures that support assured me would be corrected with the upcoming release.

Comments: We have been using Wintac for over 15 years. We have been using the wintac portal for 3 years. The wintac program is our A/R program and now our dispatching program. Both work very well for our hvac business.

Pros: This is a relatively easy to learn, easy to teach and easy to use the system.

Cons: We converted from an extremely old version of Wintac to a newer version in 2014 and there was only one small glitch in bringing over old history. But it was very small considering the amount of data, etc.

Recommendations to other buyers: As with any new product, shop around. We have found Wintac to be just what we need for our business.

Comments: After 18 months we are still not able to get all the "known issues" resolved. They are very responsive to our issues, however, the team is unable to fix the issues, sitting the next version addresses them. Inventory was the selling feature for our small company, and we are still not able to figure out why when posting purchases, they mysteriously remove inventory, change pricing (revert to previous costs). Their solution is to reprocess the WIP, but that is not a cost effective solution. As one could see, this will affect financials as the cost of goods is affected. We have spent hours, on hours data mining the reports to find the errors within the program. We have 1300 customers in an oil and propane delivery and service business. Until we brought it to their attention, they were not aware the ticket printing did not work and caused the crash of CPU, resulting in complete data loss. They "rebuilt" our data over 6 times in the 18 months we have had this program, nuts! They have "fixed" the printer issues, but still we have crashes that require the shut down during busy times, but we have the process to avoid loss of data, and they have supported this issue by providing rebuilding data and such. Currently, we are unable to invest in another solution and have found work around to get us to be able to operate. However, the cost of hours, lost time due to crashes, along with the extensive work to validate financials has left us with a very poor overall customer experience. It is too bad, as their techs work hard to try and help. This corporation needs to invest in its product. We would have been willing to pay more, as this is priced for YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Pros: Ability to manage work orders, dispatch board, and customer job manager.

Cons: Financials are somewhat limited on reporting and ability to reconcile the cost center balances to obtain the adjusted trial balance., employee payroll has limited ability to provide what is required to report to state and federal, inventory management is a complete nightmare, with changes that cannot be explained, but some are a result of system design with many areas for error.

Recommendations to other buyers: Look hard, and make sure you have really good technical ability to perform IT support within your organization.

Comments: Wintac has really helped keep our pest control office more organized. Our jobs are all a little easier now that we use Wintac. The web portal is very easy to use and excellent for field technicians. It takes a little time to learn and get use to the program, but it is worth it!

Comments: Have been very happy with the product as I have used it. Was able to get up and running with no training, though I am sure if I were to use all the features it would be helpful. Particularly liked being able to start using it for sending out bills without having to set up the inventory first. Was billing within hours of receiving the software. Staff was very helpful on one question I did have. I would like a little more comprehensive help manual as I am from the "paper" generation, but overall most of my issues have been able to be solved without outside help. I have received a number of compliments from customers on the appearance of my bills.

Comments: Our firm has used Wintac since it was called Intac in 1995! We are extremely happy with all of the Wintac features that we utilize. However, we do not utilize the accounting feature as we have another accounting software program. It has been a blessing to have cutomer records that are this easy to view with just a click.

Pros: Customer service history, work order, invoicing and dispatching.

Cons: A few glitches in the Wintac Pro version 16.44 but nothing major.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would highly recommend this program if for nothing other than the customer service history. I have records dating back to 1995!

Comments: As a previous Sage 50 user, we were growing extremely frustrated with lack of inventory management and mobile field service options. We looked for new software and were immediately overwhelmed by the 1000's of choices on the market. After having our IT support and accountant review Wintac, we got the green light and forward we went. The best aspect of Wintac? Wintac's customer support is TOP NOTCH!! I have rarely waited longer than 5 minutes for support and the expertise of the support staff is excellent. Also, I would HIGHLY recommend the custom training sessions with a rep - an excellent value. He is an expert at helping you customize Wintac to your business. Is switching software enjoyable? Absolutely not! But Wintac made the painful experience as painless as possible. Watch the videos, purchase the training sessions, and call the support team. Purchasing or switching software is a considerable investment in time and money but be assured that Wintac is the real deal!!

Pros: Exceptional customer support. Functionality is clean and simple. Much easier than Sage.

Cons: No hyperlinks within the report function to open related data.

Comments: I run a plumbing and remodeling company. For a long time now I have been looking into software that combined our dispatching, invoicing, inventory, and did it all wirelessly. I found Wintac while looking around on the internet. There were a few other options, but none of them included all of the functionality I was looking for. Their sales staff was very good, and offered a free 30 day trial. This trial was very limited, and basically just a demo to show off the UI. It was enough to sell me. Everything changed after I purchased the software. The tech support was really good, but I opted out of their "bootcamp" plan that helps get you familiar with the product. I am not sure if that was a good deal or not. Either way, it was a very steep learning curve. Like I said, the program is very powerful, so there are many, many features. While powerful, the UI is clunky and unintuitive. The program has a tendency to lockup, throw error codes, and crash. A lot of this has to due with the dispatch screen. I am running a powerful server, and the PCs for the terminals are decent enough that this issue isn't a performance issue. I believe a lot of it has to do with using Microsoft Access as a back end. We got the dispatching and invoicing side of things up and running first. The web portal set up is very complicated, but their tech support handled it. We had several issues with the IP that we had to work out between Wintac and our telecom provider. Eventually everything got worked out and we were up and running. We switched over to Xcharge as our merchant processor, since they have direct integration with the Wintac software. It works fairly well, but it too is wonky. The interface between Wintac and Quickbooks works very well, when it works. For whatever reason, it often will toss out an error code, failing to send either/both the invoice or receipt to QB. This is very frustrating, but you get used to it. I have finally started using the inventory management side of the program. Again, it is wonky and unituitive, but powerful. You can have up to 20 different locations and manage each one's inventory separately. I haven't gotten there yet, but I will control each vans' inventory using this. Right now I have my warehouse inventoried, though it isn't an active one yet. I am working on a process where the guys request inventory, and it gets recorded as such. The UI to control all of this is strangely formatted and seems tacked on. Strange, because the abilities it has are powerful. Overall, this software could be extraordinary. It is held back by a poor UI and bugs. It certainly does what is promised, but it makes it much harder than it needs to be with the clunky UI. I give it 4 stars, deducting one because of the painful interface.

Pros: Power - It can do a huge amount of things. Wireless - The web portal lets you schedule your guys, invoice the customer, manage inventory, and get paid all without a piece of paper. It prevents double entry as well. Flexibility - You can set up your dispatching in a number of different ways and tag them with custom fields that allow you to sort through it quickly.

Cons: UI - The UI is clunky, and makes things harder than they need to be. If the UI were simplified and revamped, I would give this program 5 stars. Bugs - There are lots of bugs and crashes. There are things that can be done to mitigate these somewhat, but the workarounds seem absurd sometimes. There are regular patches that seem to address some of the bugs, but they often create new ones.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are fairly tech saavy, and want a very powerful program that can manage almost all aspects of your service company, this software is for you. If you can't be bothered to troubleshoot some technical issues, this might be a hassle for you.
