“WORK[etc] connected our disconnected teams”

ProsThe project management component of WORKetc has been indispensable. I work in the healthcare industry and we manage outpatient programs at hospitals. My team is responsible for implementing new contracts and then we pass them over to the operations team for ongoing retention and support. With WORKetc we've been able to organize our new build and/or transitioning of programs into our organization well and simultaneously create historical data as we focus on long-term value and support to keep them. I also like the discussions feature within WORKetc. Before, we were utilizing Google Hangouts to talk about client needs, but now if we need to discuss a specific client issue, we can utilize the feature within WORKetc which means it's seamlessly connected to that account. It also integrates well with Google Drive, negating any duplication of document storage (a problem we've had in the past). The system also has great API functionality that we use to post data from WORKetc across another proprietary platform within our organization. This allows our customers to stay current with things like implementation status, support ticket status, etc.
ConsThe integration with Gmail isn't amazing. It works but you have to really know exactly what you are looking for within WORKetc to be able to connect the email with the appropriate customer. The system can get pricey if you have corporate based users that don't interact with clients often enough to give them an account. For example, our media team creates customized videos for clients on an irregular basis, so paying for them to be in WORKetc all the time doesn't make sense. It would be nice if there was a way to setup tiered levels of users to account for irregular users.

“Working Etcetera with WorkETC.com”

OverallI first encountered this product when it was barely a brand new company many years ago. At the time I was seeking a comprehensive business management solution for a small tech services business. At that time in history, there was nothing like this on the market at all, and I was enthusiastic about finding it. I tried hard to make it work, but back then, the company was very small and they were literally trying to tackle every possible business need with a very small team. I admit that all those years ago, the product wasn't ready yet for prime time, and I abandoned it for other options. Now, many years later (like 7 or 8 years?) I am starting a new business and once again on the hunt for the optimal toolset for my administrative, sales, project and accounting requirements. I remembered how comprehensive WorkETC was and came back to give them another look. I am now building my entire business process and workflow from CRM-Sales Lead -Conversion to Quote-Conversion to Sale-Project management-Billing-Support around the way this tool works. They have added mobile apps to the mix since my first experience with them and they look very solid so far. Overall, this product is the only toolset of it's kind that is this comprehensive in all facets of running a services and products based business. I strongly believe that it can work for almost any kind of requirements for any type of services. I am a fan and promote the tool to my own clients every chance I get. But there are some pros and cons which I will elaborate on in the following sections of this review.
ProsThis is the most comprehensive and complete sales/project management/support/billing tool I have found anywhere online. I literally tried over 2 dozen competitors and combos of integrated CRM/PM/Acct/Support tools and cannot find a single competitor that does it all in one single unified system. The level of support from this company is nothing short of astounding and amazing and I use them a LOT to work through usage and bug issues when they arise but that leads to the cons. Read on.
ConsIn trying to use this system, you will need to realize that a tool set of this scope is going to need a lot of set up and configuration to be ready for use in your company. You need to be willing to spend some time on a learning curve, a slightly outdated interface (Im told a new release with a better UI/UX experience is coming very very soon) and you need to be willing to adapt to some of its quirks where it cannot be made to adapt to your needs in some cases. Most of these are not critical enough to deter usage, but it's not always perfect for everything. I find a lot of interface bugs and problems in using the software. Support is amazing when I report these bugs, and in general they continue to restore my confidence in the product every time I get frustrated with it. But there are bugs. Again, I'm told a huge overhaul update is imminent but it's clear that this platform has been evolving over the past half dozen years and that growth, as is typical for legacy systems has caused some inherent glitches. I strongly believe the company is trying as hard as they can to resolve every issue that the users report, and I will continue to try and use it for my company, because once again, there is nothing else at all on the market that compares in scope and completeness for my business needs.

“WORKetc helps create an efficient and effective work day, anywhere”

ProsSince you can access WORKetc anywhere with an internet connection, by phone or computer, your business can travel with you. Whether you need access to contacts, projects, invoices, time sheets, or your calendar, it is all at your fingertips no matter where you are. Within a matter of seconds, everything you need is at your disposal. It gives you the ability to keep all communications with clients in one place, so that you can run your business efficiently. WORKetc is user friendly and easy to learn. They realize that companies rely on them to manage their business. WORKets runs smoothly, however, if an issue does arise, their response time is short. They work on resolving the issue as a matter of priority and provide updates and details of measures that will be taken to prevent the issue from occurring again.
ConsWhile we are greatly pleased with how WORKetc allows us to run our business activity, we would like to see a few changes in the issue of quotes. Currently, the way it works is if I create a quote with a certain amount of hours of time on it, my next time sheet will show that amount of time. I view a quote as what I provide my client or potential client prior to them hiring us or approving the work, so I don't want it anywhere other than on that quote. Once they hire us I still don't want it anywhere until we've done the work or decided to bill it. Typically, we don't convert quotes to invoices but bill against the project and compare back to the quote when we create the invoice. I'd also really like to be able to attach a quote to a project, we often provide additional work on a project requiring additional quotes to be created for that specific project - as it is now it becomes cumbersome when multiple projects for one client have multiple quotes.
Recommendations to other buyersWe believe that this software pays for itself. The best recommendation we can give is to try it out. Get a feel for the software and the ease of use. It takes time to learn and there is some set up involved, but that will be the case for any software. We believe that it is worth the time and effort you put in to learn the system. It takes time and effort to run a business.

“It just makes day-to-day things easier!”

OverallWe've been on WORK[etc]'s platform for over 2 years now and it's hard to imagine how were keep communications with our clients and employees organized before with just emails and hand written notes! WORK[etc]'s value lies in the cross-integration of all assets, including Contacts/Companies, Support Cases, Tags, Notes, Timekeeping and Discussions. What is great about WORK[etc], is that even if you don't use all of their features, the entire system is very a la carte where you can pick and choose what you need to use, but it all works fluidly together as one. For example, we haven't used the Financing area to bill clients as it's done through our parent company, but we do use the Expense tracker for reimbursements, which is nice to have a digital record of.
ProsThe search feature WORK[etc] offers is probably the most useful and powerful tool in the system. It allows you to quickly find what you need to search for through every department in the CRM. Other nifty features are the numerous third party apps that allow you to utilize and take advantage of WORK[etc] through programs such as Outlook, Evernote, and other communication tools so that everything is tracked through WORK[etc] without additional effort. Customized Web-forms and Campaign features allow you to mass capture information and easily communication with clients without having to fuss with your regular email.
ConsOne big feature we would like to see from WORK[etc] is a client proofing system. Since we are a heavily graphic-based company and send numerous graphic assets to client at a time, it does get tedious having to upload attachments to an email in WORK[etc] where it allows you only to upload one at a time. A feature that would allow us to mass upload assets into a 'ticket' or even the customer portal, where the client could give live feedback would be a great addition to WORK[etc] and would definitely make WORK[etc] a forerunner in the CRM market that appeals to proof-based companies.

“You will not find a more supportive platform.”

OverallI'll apologize for the lengthy review in advance, but hear me out. My company is small...7 employees, but growing. We rely on technology to help us serve our clients better while managing a very complex set of compliance requirements (on a daily basis) to meet regulatory demands. We needed a system that wouldn't force us to change our work flows to conform to theirs. We've found that with WORKetc. On the CRM and Project modules, we use them extensively for lead management, regulatory filings and then annual management of our accounts. I just can't explain the ease and natural progression of the Projects/Sub-projects/Tasks that support each of our processes...you just have to experience it. Recently, I thought I had...I'll call her "Susan" (Queen of WORKetc New Client Onboarding) on the "auto-progressing" when it came to moving on to the next sub-project after completing the previous one. Not going to happen, I'm thinking. Know what she said? "Yes, it will do that, but I think you might want to think about a different method that will be better for your process". She then launched into a series of questions about our business and how we worked as a team. What? Truthfully, customer service is what I want to finish with. As you can gather, I'm a huge supporter of this platform. I'm not paid to do this, not an employee, just a small business person trying to improve on what we do. To help with that, I really needed a system that was backed with superb customer service so they could help us identify the best way to use the system. Know of any platforms that provide that? Incredibly rare, but I found one. I've NEVER experienced the level of support that I've found here, and I've tried multiple platforms. WORKetc offers something called, "Quick Start". Let me save you some time...do it. The cost is offset against the subscription, so it's a no-brainer! Save yourself a tremendous amount of headache...experience their service firsthand. I promise you won't regret it. If you'd like, reach out to me directly with questions or comments and I'll respond as soon as I can and share our best practices. Maybe it will help you, maybe it won't, but I'm a believer in WORKetc and want to encourage other creative users to join in and make it even stronger.

“WORKetc, More Than a CRM”

OverallAs Idaho's Manufacturing Extension Partnership, TechHelp has team members and consultants work our of each of our three state universities. For years we struggled to work, communicate and manage our business across the different systems used by each university. With the advent of cloud based CRM systems, we began experimenting with all of the top tools but found them lacking. Most were too "salesy" and focused on the front end sales cycle. They lacked integrated modules for project and account management. It turned out that we were looking for more than a CRM. We really wanted an integrated Business Management System that could track and manage a client engagement from first meeting, through the sales cycle, project management, expense tracking, invoicing, reporting and more. We also wanted a system that would play nice with the Google for Work system we had adopted. We found all of this and more in WORKetc.
ProsWORKetc is more than a CRM; it is an integrated Business Management System that can be used to manage a business end to end. WORKetc has THE BEST customer support system & team that I have seem in the software/cloud industry. I can get a real WORKetc person on the line for a web based conference on any issue almost instantaneously. WORKetc has a nearly infinite capacity for customization. We have used WORKetc "Web Forms" to greatly enhance our consulting work. A client can complete a Web Form that automatically creates a contact and a lead. The form is automatically routed to the correct consulting team that has all info at their fingertips to follow up with the client.
ConsSome users are at first intimidated by the user interface. There are so many features and ways of doing things that they can be overwhelmed.

“WORKetc - Breaking down the communication barriers”

ProsThe thing that I like best about WORKetc is that it is one place that everyone in our company can go to find information about anything. If they have questions about a specific client or company, they can find the information here...or ask the team through WORKetc and the answers are all captured in a place that we can always go back to. If someone is on the road and wants to know the status of a lead or project, they can check in on these using WORKetc as well. We don't have to search 4-5 different places or send 4-5 e-mails to get our answers any longer...they are all in one place.
ConsI know their new mobile app is going to be amazing and will really help with our team members who are traveling...but it is still very buggy. A couple of us went through the beta testing and when it finally was rolled out to the public, we were really excited to share with our team. We opened it up during our team training and about step 2 into our walk through we found a bug. I have high hopes for the app in the future and the thing that I like least right now, April 2015, will probably become the 2nd best thing I love about WORKetc in the future.
Recommendations to other buyersBring in team members from different areas of your company! This isn't just a CRM system, this is a place to track sales, develop and work through your projects/engagements and it also has invoicing capabilities!! You want to make sure that it works well for everyone on your team, and more importantly, you want people in all areas to be bought in from the beginning! It can be a huge struggle if you're bought in and then you have to convince the other areas of your team that it's a software worth investing in.

“Work[etc] has changed the way we manage clients - for the better!”

ProsWhen we first began working with Work[etc] we were frustrated. We felt like the system wasn't solving our problems. Then one day our CTO asked a pointed question I'll never forget: Is the software not meeting our needs or is Work[etc] just highlighting our inefficiencies and showing us a better way? We had to fully acknowledge that the system could guide us into a better project and client management approach as it truly has laid out the best tools for the job. Once we let the software speak for itself and not try to impose our broken models into it, we quickly saw value from the system. The most useful thing about this software was that it provided a storehouse of data on our clients across all phases of our contract life, creating a story of where we've been, what we're doing and what needs to happen in the future to keep the client happy.
ConsThe main frustration has to do with user experience: if you click into a project from the "Project Tree" viewpoint and make a quick change, the system doesn't take you back to the same page after it saves the change. You have to start from the beginning of the project tree rather than land back in the subproject itself.

“Fully integrated CRM package for all facets of our business from Leads through to Service delivery”

OverallStaff Accountability and customisation to suit the processes of our company
ProsFrom being able to track leads into sales, through to automated Support ticketing when emails are sent to our Service inbox. We have created work groups comprising of the different teams in our organisation and then use the discussion feature built into WORKetc to be able to keep the whole team abreast of what is happening in their neck of the woods. The Timesheets that can be allocated to pretty much any activity have also been a game changer for us as we can now accurately report on billable hours to make sure that we are costing our maintenance packages out effectively.
ConsThe servers were based overseas originally so there was a small lag on data entry but since they have utilised country specific servers, we havent seen any issues at all!

“Used daily by the whole team, making us more accountable and accurate.”

OverallSmooth workflow requiring fewer people. Greater accountability and greater accuracy. High standards are much more achievable. Knowledge Base (KB) allows for sharing the "why" of our standard operating procedures, not just the how. Project Templates are custom for us, and allow us to consistently do the job right, while not having to 're-invent the wheel.'
ProsCustomizable as can be, and multi-functional. Takes far fewer people to do a job that it did before Work[ETC], in less time, with better results. Work[ETC] replaced about nine different "silos of information" with one solid system - offering much better documentation of our work, as well as accuracy, to boot!
ConsTakes real work and a dedicated professional owner or manager to even begin to get the full value Work[ETC] offers. That's okay, because the payback on time invested is at least 20x, sometimes 40 or 50x, long term ... with better results.

“Good integrated CRM”

OverallWe've seen benefits of integration. All our team members can collaborate on customer/client interaction. No more email chains, ccs, bccs, etc.
ProsThe best feature of WorkEtc for us is the ability to link work Projects to Customer/Client records. We previously managed "projects" using FileMaker Pro, but this was clunky and not fully sharable with the entire team. WorkEtc allows us to link the Customer Record with a Project Record (such as a product rental or a product licence) and all the constituent emails. As a result, we have less important emails sitting in Outlook or Mail accounts on individual devices, and more integrated in the CRM.
ConsThe GUI is dated and a little clunky. The developers have been promising a new interface for several years now, but nothing has been delivered. It is a shame.

OverallI like having everything we need in one system. We have to-dos, we have time sheets, we have project details, we have knowledge bases (for storing our company-.wide information, important details, etc), and we have a CRM to store contact details, lead information and support emails. We use WORK[etc] for these main benefits: 1) We store all our timesheets in an easy to view place 2) We store client contact information in an searchable way 3) We use the support/email system as a way of keeping track of client responses to us For example, in our software development company, we (obviously) develop software that has been released to various clients. But we're not perfect, so sometimes there's a bug, or a user expects functionality B instead of A. They write to our support email address, which is linked to WORK[etc] and a support case is automatically generated and forwarded to the appropriate team members. That record keeps track of response emails from our staff as well as the client, helping us to monitor the time it takes us to solve a problem (useful for SLA analytics). Keeping our timesheets in WORK[etc] has also been a real boost for our efficiency. First off, everything is online, so there's no digging around for paperwork. Secondly, they can be sorted by project, so if I want to see how much time I spent on Client A's latest update, I can go to the project page and view the associated timesheets or print a summary report. And, importantly, the timesheets can have comments on them, so I can go more specific (not just 'redesigning GUI' but 'redesigning layout on form 2').
Pros- Everything in one 'site'. - Project management is simple to deal with. - Timesheets are easy to add or change. - Contact management is super simple, with lots of customisation.
Cons- The current Android app is sub-par. The new one is currently in beta and, hopefully, will make it worth using. - There are some visual hiccups every now and then (some popups don't remember their size after resizing).

“WorkETC saved us time!”

ProsOur team has been able to improve on efficiently because we are able to retain and provide quick feedback into the CRM. We no longer are wasting time in repetitively inputting data when we have a spare moment instead we can quickly add them as we go especially with the mobile app. I think it has allowed us to track our sales as well because we can easily do all the follow up from sales, to the pitch, to the quote.
ConsI really like the fact that they have a mobile app however it doesnt do all that I need. Yes, we can track and put in data right when we are tracking but the app doesnt allow for the features to work as it would on the website. I understand these two would be different but more availability in the features would be nice.

“Great Saas to connect virtual offices and teams: more than a CRM”

OverallWe've been using WorkEtc now for 2 years. Before WorkEtc we ran Daylite as our central CRM but when I (the boss) needed to spend considerable time out of the office we needed a solution that was quick and efficient via the internet. We looked at a number of different solutions but chose WorkEtc as it was more than just a CRM. One of the key features that we were won over on was the Project Management/Invoicing process; WorkEtc allowed us to generate and post project related invoices to Xero at great ease.
ProsWorkEtc is a good solution for virtual teams and virtual offices to keep their data connected. It works well for employees in different time zones and different countries. We've been able to partially automate some business processes, including support cases, projects, tasks, and invoicing.
ConsWe've been disappointed with the 'clunkiness' and time consuming way of tracking time for projects and generating invoices. We use another solution to track project time (which doesn't have invoicing capabilities) and enter the time into the invoice manually. For some reason the workflow for WorkEtc is not as efficient as the other solution. Their customer support team is very efficient however it feels as if product development is slow and often behind schedule. (Sign up because you like the features they have, not the features they are promising.)

“Great Business Management Solution”

OverallIn the realm of business management solutions for small businesses, Work, Etc., is definitely among the top. A single source for CRM, PM, Financial Management, Sales Force Automation, Marketing Automation, and reporting made Work, Etc., a no brainer. The level and speed of support is excellent, the platform rock-solid and documentation is crystal clear. Comes highly recommended.

ConsWith such an all-encompassing solution, it is quite the commitment to learn and move everything. Once up to speed, however, you probably won't want to run without it.

“WorkEtc All-In-One CRM”

OverallEveryone knows the concept "best of breed" and typically vendors that focus on being best of breed for their flagship product will be more successful than one that offers an All-In-One product. The reason is that its hard to be best of breed at everything so they end up being best of breed at none. WorkEtc is an exception to that rule as they have incorporated enterprise wide information management into one package and does it all very well. I have used SalesForce.com, SugarCRM, SharePoint, ZenDesk, Zoho, FreshDesk, Harvest, and more. While they are all great products and have their strengths none of them do it ALL or as well as WorkEtc. Best of all, in our case WorkEtc was less expensive after we compared using one system versus multiple subscriptions to other products. Our sales team can now enter leads, that turn into customers, that later have projects, and then support. Employees can create time sheets and expenses related to customer projects that can be easily exported into our billing system. Support tickets are automatically tagged to customers and if necessary support employees can create a billable timesheet entry right from the ticket. We also use it to encourage internal communication using discussions and knowledge base articles. Another thing to mention is the Google Apps integration. If you are using Gmail, the plug in is really handy. If by chance a customer emails me directly with an issue, I can create a new support ticket from the email message very easily. Also if you already have a document library in Google Drive, it can easily be shared within WorkEtc with just a few clicks.

“Flexible, easy to learn and awesome user guides”

OverallI am the office manager of an IT company. During the past year our company started growing and with that the need to have a way of keeping track of everything that happens within the business from a customer database, support tickets, invoices, time spent at each job. We looked for months at many other solutions, some that were a nice but out of our price range and some that were lower priced, but didn't really solve any problems we currently had. We wanted a place that could do it all and could integrate well with Gmail and google environment. We also wanted the ability to access the system via mobile devices (cell phones). We found our answer in worketc.
ProsAwesome user guides that are easy to understand. The videos are amazing, it's like being in class with a trainer. The interface is quick and it just "makes sense". I love that everything can be interconnected and never loose sight of what's currently going on. We love being able to have a "queue" with our support tickets and know what the stages of each ticket. Flexibility to morph the system to our own needs.
ConsPerhaps one of the pros could be a con. The system is so flexible that sometimes it's hard to decide what tags to create, how to use certain features like discussions vs. notes. I don't see it's as a terrible con, but it does take some time to figure out how to best utilize the system to the company's benefit. The mobile apps are still in what I would consider a "green" stage, where there's room to make them better. They recently released the iPhone app and it's easy to use. It's night and day compared to the Android one. I'm sure soon both will be great.

“Work[etc] is my jam!”

OverallWe do not see the world as it is, but we see the world as we are. Worketc allows me to see the situation as it is. When I say situation I mean the project status, stage, etc. I am able to fully access the phases and status of current accounts and customers. It's very important for me to be able to stay on top of a customer because I have hundreds and hundreds of customers and I need to be able to rememeber their dogs' names, diseases, house orientations, etc etc. Hence worketc.
ProsFully customizable. Very easy to integrate to other programs like quickbooks. We use it for accounting.
ConsYou have to exit one section before you edit another.
Recommendations to other buyersMake sure that you create a template that is easy to digest. Do it right from day one. Make sure all staff is on board with the workflow you've organized. Don't make any decisions on your own, team effort. There is no I in team.

“Amazing all in one tool for small teams”

ConsThe only thing I didn't rate five stars was "ease of use." It's not really worketc's fault though. There are so many features. The tutorials and help is top notch. ProsReducing the number of "info silos" is the #1 benefit. Get rid of CRM, support ticket management, project management, database entries, notes, untracked email, work timers, and more....because ALL are part of WorkEtc. Customization tools the #2 benefit. Create 'Smart Lists' (based on info already contained in WorkEtc (instead of separate spreadsheets for everything). “What WorkEtc?”

OverallI've been the one in every business I join who either gets tasked with finding the easiest most effective ways to get the Work Etc done. I've tried a myriad of CRMs, ECMs, Work-Flow Management Softs, Accounting Softs, Business Development and Social Media Management Softs and Work Etc is winning for 1. Simple yet complex - you can keep an un-cluttered yet powerful overview of anything exactly where you want it. 2. The support staff cleared up my 'How the hell do you get started/get this to work/input this data' issues faster than any other company to date. 3. It's actually intuitive, making adjustments, where's the button for this? Where's the menu for that? It's all there it seems, easy to find, easy to change, easy to set in stone.
ProsReally fast, clean, adaptable, powerful, simple yet advanced, they've thought of everything. Oh and for the first time in history, this company ACTUALLY values your ideas it seems. They tout you for 'wish lists' and improvements at several stages, they're definitely keen to keep customers happy.
ConsApps for IPhone and Android are great but you think "They could be better" and as soon as you do you find out they're launching an entire overhaul with every little thing you could think of, so we have to wait a month, I can hack it. The UI is not ugly, it's easy to see and use but it could do with a brush through it's hair and some new shoes and apparently V5 is about to be released and look ridiculously clean and simple, nice, I can wait for that to.

“A good cloud base CRM for project management”

OverallEase of use, one place for almost all of my data, financial, operations, leads, etc. I really liked the fact of being able to log in from any computer and update projects.
ProsEase of use, and ability to update records within a given project. Also the fact that I can access the CRM through my smart phone. It's also beneficial to have my leads in one place and too track them as well.
ConsThere is a opportunity to add a automation process. For instance, if I want an automatic email to be delivered once a certain milestone is met, it would be nice for the system to send it, based on a process that I setup ahead of time.

OverallWe use WORKETC on a daily basis to pretty much run our business. I am a junior engineer for a IT consulting business out of Dallas Texas. We have multiple clients from small business to corporate businesses. The all in one capabilities are what make this software a must have for almost any business. You are able to track time input for all employees and customize your clienteles information to suit your needs. Our clients are able to submit various forms of ticket requests. They can visit a customer portal, shoot an email or even call you. You can create the ticket for them. You can create documentation for every contact and store your own business documentation and training paperwork. The best part is your able to do all of this real time and its fast. No hassle in retrieving old cases and managing cases in your own personal mailbox. Not to mention I contact customers via email with my own personalized logo right from the CRM software. Time entry is precise and very detailed with many customized fields. I've looked and there is no software quite like this. We get a service call, log a ticket, and create timestamps. For any business owner the investment you make is worth it. It pays for itself times ten and much more if you would like. None of those nasty errors with out of date databases requiring time and strenuous updates. You want productivity, this is it.

“Great CRM, Highly Respected”

Overall I love the timesheets they really help me keep organized and make me feel better about what I have done in the day. We use the support ticket feature the most and I couldn't see being able to do my job without it. It allows us to stay organized, upload attachments and make sure we're not stepping on each others toes. If I ever branch off and start my own company I'm definitely going to make sure I have this service. We use it heavily in the support department because of the support ticket feature. The product development department uses it to meet project deadlines. Overall it keeps us all on track so that no two people are doing the same job, and lets us know where others are at on their work.

“Powerful and adaptable”

OverallI think one of my favorite things about Worketc is that it's so powerful. You have a CRM that has the ability to contain all your customer data in one place, but then all that customer info can be connected to projects, support cases, invoices, events, appointments. It's easy to modify, you won't need an act of congress to make changes. Then you have the ability of being able to access it through the mobile apps.

“CRM? or life saver?”

OverallAs a business development and technology company, we were looking for something awesome that would help us track expenses specifically to a job, manage projects no matter the size, and help us stay organized, while billing appropriately, too. Work[etc] did all of that, and more, for us. It's a very comprehensive and in-depth CRM and business saving software that tracks your subscriptions, gives financial overviews, and tracks a myriad of other data. We own several restaurants and do the bookkeeping for several more on top of the business development and technology side of our company, so the accounting features in Work[etc] aren't quite for what we do, even on the technology stuff. But, Work[etc] was never really meant to be an accounting software, either! It integrates pretty well with Quickbooks Online, however, and what doesn't integrate, takes me mere minutes to enter and track. The relationship between the two has definitely revolutionized the way we track our financial data, and has significantly cut down on the time we spend working. One of the best features of Work[etc], in my opinion, is it's ability to send emails, track attachments and time sheets, and remind you of tasks that need to be done! It has, quite literally, saved us a ton of money when we thought we had lost client release forms or information. This feature, in itself, is worth the cost. Work[etc] is both a CRM and a lifesaver.

OverallWORK[etc] is a great app for tracking lots of detail about lots of customers, with a few specific weaknesses. The detail tracked by WORK[etc] in terms of support is outstanding, with a DETAILED audit trail being the one key missing feature. Project management is solid, although the GANTT chart could use a few more features, in my opinion. That said, it works very well. Sub-projects are a great feature under project management as well. Time sheets are easy to use. Wish recurring invoices could automatically become billable, but not the end of the world. The package is great for getting everyone on one system. Not necessarily best of breed across the board, but gets everyone in the company on the same page.
Pros-Solid project management. -Great support system. -Awesome support staff who is always there to help. They will truly get to know your business.
Cons-Missing small features here or there that aren't make or break. -Has no resource allocation, which is huge for project managers.

“Expected More, Received Less!”

OverallThe software boasts superior functions that are marketed to increase productivity. Although, this may be true in the long run, the amount of time and lack of support on the front end makes adoption an issue. From the start, the system would not accept a conversion from free trial to paid account. When calling sales, there was a sales agent available even at night- WOW! Little did I know that this does not filter down to support! The webinars are overall good; but, the time allotted per webinar is not adequate to cover the material and allow time for questions. They are free though! Once you join and begin using the software, the first thing is to load the data. OK, where is the import tools- there they are! The system will upload the data and respond back that the contacts are already there and when your check, there are no contacts. This stops you cold as contacts are the basis for the system's first step in programming. Support! Ah, here lies the issue. The company failed to respond for over 24 hours to support emails and their own form. They do not provide a phone number for support. In fact, the support comes from an "unknown number." When calling the main number, you will simply be told that no one is "available to help you." Again, the only way to get a support tech is to make a fuzz. Who really has time for that in business? 2 starts for the product- would have been higher if I could actually have gotten to use it. 0 starts for support 5 stars for sales and marketing. Does this seem a little off balance to anyone? Not recommended!
ProsIf software would perform to specifications, the system would be really good. Good Sales Support initially to sign up. Webinars are decent Easy Cancellation.
ConsNo support after purchase Staff tend to blame end user for their own shortcomings in tech support. Once they sign you up and collect he first month, they do not care whether you stay or not as they have your money. ToS states, no refund.

“Finally - A CRM that works for us!”

OverallWe are a 2-person company that needed a single tool to manage both support tickets, a deal pipeline and project management. After trying literally HUNDREDS of so-called 1-stop CRMs, Work[etc] was the ONLY tool that actually delivered on what it advertises. The quality for the price is second to none, and it's pretty easy to use. There are a few things that could be better, but the development team is committed to improving their product over time. We're looking forward to future planned enhancements. Oh, and I should mention that there IS a mobile app, which many CRMs don't have. I don't use it much, but it's pretty good.
ProsIt really is a one-stop-shop for managing customers, deals, projects and support tickets. It has great integration with Google (GSuite). We have significantly lowered our individual emails with tickets and inquiries going directly into Work[etc]
ConsThe integration to Xero (accounting/financial software) isn't as good as it could be.

“Software to Run a Business”

OverallWe've been running for years with a pieced together system that involved a billing system, a ticketing system, a bunch of spreadsheets, and a new CRM every few weeks. We tried getting systems to integrate, and play nice. It wasn't until we discovered WorkETC that we found a solution. We have been able to more than double our productivity and bandwidth because the software integrates everything we need in one place. The mobile version of the software is crucial during the times we're meeting with the clients, or are on the road looking for information. It's fast, easy, and it just works.
ProsEase of use. Fast loading. Information at our fingertips.
ConsThis is a tough one. Perhaps the user interface is a little clunky. Trying to make adjustments to projects and tech support cases isn't as easy as we'd like. We find that just leaving notes and making the changes when we've returned to the desktop is a little easier. But means a little more time.

ProsWORKetc is not just a CRM. It works for us from initial client meeting through sales cycle, proposal, contract, project, invoicing and reporting. Also love how it integrated with Google For Work. The vendor is accessible and easy to work with.
ConsThere are SO many features and potential ways of doing things that it takes a while to learn the system and create processes and best practices.
Recommendations to other buyersHaving tested and trialed most CRM's on the market, I can say that most were too "salesy" for the needs of a professional consulting organization and were scaled to meet the needs of a much larger organization. WORKetc handles ALL aspects of business engagement and works great for our smaller consulting operation.

“Great tool for communicating and capturing information!”

OverallSo far we have really enjoyed the experience we've had with Work[etc]. There are still a few kinks that are being worked out, but that comes with any new product. It's been worth the change though! It has brought our office together and has helped us keep track of communication for all of our clients and projects. It's wonderful to have one system to go to for our internal and external communication! We have been utilizing it to keep track of leads, work through our engagements and we have our in-office shout out program built into the program as well! Can't wait to see what new updates they come up with to continue improving this fantastic product. (We consult firms in the CPA profession).

“WorkEtc ”

OverallWe use WorkEtc in a CPA firm for tracking customers, projects, support requests, and discussion among staff. The combination of a singular customer database among functional areas is a big productivity boost for our firm. We have yet to use some of the marketing and sales features but what we have been able to use is great.
ProsCustomer portal is useful for getting customer information Customizable forms are great for capturing data from the portal and on our company sites. Customer Support functionality is excellent for getting the customer needs cataloged to be address and measured.

“work[etc] has surprisingly strong project management features of a combination product. ”

OverallWe were highly impressed by the capabilities that work[etc] has built into its project management module. It represents a tremendous value for a SMB entity that needs an integrated solution. It compares very favorably vs. the leader in the space which had been our "go to" in the Google for Work Ecosystem. If we have more sophisticated needs, we would jump to another product which supports Agile, Scrum and point estimates which EVERYONE but for the OCD PMP types and engineers just HATES! It provides the basis for a PSA platform that beats the stuffing out of Xero's sister produce due to its much tighter integration with Google For Work, and it is a tremendous add in to any side of what we call Functional Triangle Workflow. “Best CRM and all in one solution”

OverallWe use Work Etc for our CRM, project management, time tracking, billing and customer login - when I have a problem, they respond right away and believe it or not - they actually correct the problem! I'm serious here, we had an issue with using paypal to process payments - it was very important to our business that it be corrected imediately - their cusomter support got right on it and within a day they had adjusted the coding and correct the issue. If you're tired of sitting on the phone with companies like intuit who have no interest in making your pain go away - make the switch to Work Etc. you will not regret it. Also Xero integration works great!

ConsTakes some time to get used to and develop work flows / train - this is common with products that are powerful and meet multiple needs.

“One unique app to organice my business flow”

OverallThe best part of Worketc is that, in one app the whole business process of our engineering company can be integrated. Pre-sales (newsletters) and web forms, sales, service production, billing and after sales service. We've been using WorkEtc for 5 years now, I've been looking during this period other tools, just to make sure it was the right selection, but I couldn't find any other tool that does what Work etc does at such a price. And even more interesting, everything is already integrated, we don't have third parties to adapt the tool to our needs, Work Etc is already adapted to most business processes. Instead, if we ever needed some help to better understand how to integrate our busines flow in Work Etc we just set up a 15 or 30 minutes meeting with support people and they answer our questions with out any extra billing.

“Worketc continues to change our business”

OverallAs a business that is rapidly growing in terms of the clients we serve, the number of projects we deliver and the complexity of those projects we urgently needed to get a Quality System up and running so everyone knew their role in the business, their tasks and how that aligned with everyone else. Worketc was a perfect adjunct to our Quality System allowing us to flexibly construct a model that met the specific needs of our business and our clients. It works not only for senior management, however, for all of our sales, development and support teams.
ProsFlexible architecture. Wide range of capabilities. Reasonable cost.
ConsWould like to see some decision making capability in the forms. Also some more intelligence in the form creation process which is a bit too reliant on our team at present.

“WorkETC”

OverallWorkETC is probably one of the best CRM apps I have used but what makes this company different is the superb support and interaction you can have with them. Steve Westrop (UK Based) is excellent and works tirelessly until he has a satisfied customer. The CRM itself is robust and well thought out the mobile app is a dream very user friendly and full of good tools. WorkETC has everything you need right down to raising an invoice if needed, for our company the project management and customer portal is very important and we expect to be making good use of these facilities. We are still early phase users but having left Zoho CRM to come to WorkETC it is a total breath of fresh air and I would highly recommend. Thanks

ConsI'd like to see more customization allowed and integration with a digital signing service would be very useful.

“Consistent Consultancy”

OverallI've been using WORKetc for four years now and have watched it's continued evolution into what I now consider to be a critical tool for running my business consultancy business. WORKetc doesn;t just manage my customer relationships, it ensures that I can run multiple projects, provide customers with support, share work and communicate across teams, track sales leads, manage my finances and get more sleep too!
Pros- Has all the tools I need to run a business providing multiple products and services. - Easy to understand interface - Excellent support from the WORKetc team - Great API integrations - Affordable (Ssh don't tell them)
Cons - Gmail integration good, but doesn't yet auto-mark emails as read in WORKetc dashboard.

Overall"working in the financial sector, contact details and social media content is not always readily available. Trying to locate a direct contact or even more important an indirect contact who is a decision maker is key to our up front marketing. Once we have the introduction and develop the relationship, staying in contact is vital given the movement from institution to institution that can take place. For us, the ability to find a contact or stay in contact no matter where they are working at a point in time is key and vital to our long term growth and success. In addition, having access to enhanced CRM tools is something that might make us stand out from our competition."

“the tools that brought our growth”

OverallWe are a french communication agency and we use WORKetc since one year. During this year we have doubled in size. With WORKetc we could empower our project managers on monitoring and billing of their projects. We use forms to our website. 3-4 leads are automatically reassembled each week ! The mobile version and syncho gmail is perfect for sharing and managing our agendas. For our industry, WORKetc is more than CRM is an ERP!
Pros- google apps synchro - reporting - billing - project management - simplicity - adaptation capacity
Cons- self service portal in progress - integration capacity and data access (for BI for example) - ergonomy sometimes complex

“Changed our world”

OverallStraight up, when I first looked at WORK[etc] over two years ago I wondered if it would be a worthwhile investment compared to the four free (but completely separate apps) I was using at the time. Looking back it was, without a doubt, the best decision ever made. Bringing everything into an intuitive central system with excellent integration into other fantastic apps such as Xero and Evernote has made managing multiple clients and projects at once a breeze.
ProsGreat support when (if) needed from people who understand business, not just the software.
ConsEncourages multitasking... but I'm a bloke :-(

“It Just Works”

OverallIt does everything we need it to do plus more. We haven't utilized all the tools yet at our disposal and we gradually grow into this. 4 months in however and our communication both internally and with our customers has never been better and more fluid. Efficiency is the word!
ProsEverything we need to know is at our finger tips. No more searching in 3 or 4 different applications to find different pieces of information.
ConsThe projects modules needs to be able to distinguish between a workday and a weekend/holiday.
