While I think they would be great for a company or NGO looking to centralize their accounting and other administrative and fundraising efforts, my organization already has accounting set up elsewhere and was looking for a CRM focused on the fundraising and donor relationship offer exclusively. Pros Comprehensive platform if you are looking to run accounting, donor management and prospecting, etc from one place Cons Heavy accounting focus and that isn't what we needed. Treasurer Civic & Social Organization Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great software program for those will little experience" October 5, 2016 4.0 I was new as a Treasurer and had never done it before, but after doing a lot of research I concluded that Aplos was the best value for the price. Their one-month trial period is also a great way to test out the system and see if it works for your accounting needs, and it did for ours, a smaller non-profit with about a $50,000 annual budget. The budgeting feature is great, and the support you receive from individuals is awesome. I was on the phone with their staff for an hour one day and they walked me through setting up my account. " November 16, 2017 5.0 As someone who has been afraid of setting up a chart of accounts, I am so glad that we picked Aplos. I feel like we are going to be able to organize and present our finances so much more professionally than ever before. Pros Aplos has many good Introductory materials, and does a lot to help you get set up. There is also good customer support, and helpful webinars for when questions do arise. Cons Aplos doesn't integrate with a number of applications, which would be helpful such as payroll, or most Donor Management platforms. Review Source DM Dan M. They are very quick to respond to questions and have been helpful in resolving any issues I have asked them about. I would not hesitate to recommend Aplos to other nonprofits. It tracks all our contributions and expenses. It also gives me the ability to file taxes straight from the software with no extra work. I also like it because they store my records for me web based. Pros Easy to use. Easy to learn. Great customer support if you have questions. Designed to work with non-profits, which has helped me learn how to provide accounting support for our non-profit. It was very user-friendly, had lots of features and widgets to make our lives easier. Cons Apart from the program itself, it doesn't have a lot of ways for one to do some customization on templates and different stuff you'd like to do, but overall, great buy! The donation management platform is worth it by itself. It a very crucial part in bringing in money to non profits and Aplos allows you to track all of the data. December 7, 2017 4.0 Some functions (like tags) need better explanation - it looks like we should be able to easily generate the necessary data for our 990 filings but we won't know till we get there! Pros Intuitive to use Navigation is straightforward Most issues can be resolved with a quick look at the Help notes Cons A needed feature is the ability to quickly replicate repeating monthly data - for example DGL makes cash transfers to client families on a monthly basis and while the client name is in the system along with contact details, etc - we have to manually enter the same $$ amount transferred every month. This aided in my decision in purchasing Aplos. Cons I wish the contributions module had a feature where you could import contributions using a CSV file. President Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Aplos Fund Accounting Review" October 13, 2016 4.0 Aplos Fund Accounting is a great tool for accounting, it might not be as well known as Quickbooks it packs a lot under its hood. Pros It offers the tools that I was looking for, cloud based, multiple collaborators and even donor information. Having it hosted removes the need for me or someone from my team to make sure it is always up to date and secure. Cons When I mentioned to our book keeper that I was looking into Aplos Fund Accounting she wasn't pleased as she was still learning quickbooks.
