Owner Telecommunications Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Formstack is not worth it" April 13, 2020 1.0 Formstack is not a great option. I would encourage everyone to look elsewhere - Gravity Forms is a great alternative. Pros Formstack integrates with Salesforce which is why we originally chose this form builder. Cons Formstack is overpriced, pretty limited. Nothing you can't do with Gravity forms or another cheaper alternative. Customer service is not that helpful. Formstack recently bought Webmerge which was a great software. Since then, Webmerge has gone down hill as well. Reason for choosing Formstack Forms Integrated with SalesForce. We complete switched from our other form generator because this one was just that good. Pros I love that this product is so easy to use. They have preloaded integrations with CRMs BUT if you don't see what you are looking for it is easy to create your own. The form builds are easy to use and the amount of customization is fantastic! Pros We use this product to have customers enroll and buy our product - simple, easy and clean way to capture all the important information and allow them to safely input credit card information for payment Cons I am concerned that Formstack is considering changing the way they permit the user to keep credit card information. It was 100% manual data entry before we found this. It has reduced the time it takes to set up an a account. Cons it took a bit to get it set up. Pros Formstack is one of the easiest form creation software packages I've ever used. The interface is user-friendly and self-explanatory. It's good for developers and non-developers to use, and it's flexible. I really like how the logic modules function. It's easy to create expandable forms using their logic tools, and takes the stress out of developing an algorithm to do that. Cons The only thing that I wish was a little better is having the required fields and asterisks stand out more. With a larger and more complex form, all of the fields kind of blend together. Cons We bought an engine with no car. Our users are submitting forms that are not recorded anywhere, and the support options are either incredibly slow, or, require you pay extra money every month. April 24, 2014 4.0 Adding a list of items is as simple as copy/pasting the list in Lists are separate from forms, so once you enter a list (e.g., countries, counties, cities), you can re-use that list across forms. Also allows a ton of style customization (though perhaps more comfortable for the technically inclined Also allows form data submission to multiple places. Slightly more difficult to use than wufoo, but faster once you get the hang of it. Also a full unlimited free trial. Cons What I like least about Formstack is that I have noticed at times what information I enter will not make it to the administrator. It does exactly what we need it to do and we've yet to have any issues. Pros It is very intuitive to use and we were up and running in a day. Pros Our team uses Formstack to gather customer travel data such as flight information, reservations, dining, traveler basic info etc. This feeds into Salesforce and helps keep track of clean data. Cons I suppose the only con to it is a slight learning curve and getting used to all the logic, another thing is I wish you could test through the Formstack from the "customer side" without having to fill in all the information to move to the next page. It is extremely user friendly and easy to navigate and has tons of functionality, like signatures, credit cards, logic, etc. It can do a LOT. I think it's fine for that basic need. Pros We use this software for a quick registration option on our event webpage. It's so easy for the user to put their name and email address in the form. No signing in or verifying email addresses. Easy peasy. Cons I think the back end is a challenge, until you have a chance to really figure it out. I stick with the basics on getting our form on the event page. I don't find it super user friendly. It's also hard to people to change their registration (i.e., cancel) with the form, which can make for some unknown cancellations at the event. Review Source KS Karen S. Used the software for: ### "Formstack has freed my time up for other projects!" December 14, 2016 5.0 I love Formstack. We went from an entirely paper-based registration system to using Formstack and now I only get 1 or 2 paper registrations a year (instead of 500+). It was intuitive and easy to set-up. So far, there have been options for everything I want to do. Plus, I can then keep digital records of my registrations instead of having files, and files, and files of paper. I particularly love the "emails and notifications" feature that allows me to set-up automatic notifications to each of my 45 parishes whenever someone registers, plus automatically send a detailed registration confirmation, another time saver for me! I've also used the Google-docs sync feature to communicate registrations to other people I work with across the state. I can set it up to share only what they need and keep other information private. I use the download to Excel and download to PDF functions to save data and manipulate data as needed. I loved using Formstack so much, I converted everyone in my office to it as well, and now we offer online registration for everything. Hello 21st Century! However, I don't expect too much from it in terms of logic trees and easy formatting. It's there, but you don't have much. It does have connectors which are easy to set up so syncing results with salesforce was very easy. If budget is an issue for you or you just need something simple, definitely go with this product. You need no coding knowledge to make a form in Formstack. Cons I wish there were a few more design options, like the ability to center images or change fonts. Sometimes the fonts don't go with the aesthetic of our website. Even better, the ability to set default fonts within a company's space, so that people could go in and make a form that automatically matches in fonts and colors, would be ideal. Pros Formstack worked fine and got the job I needed to get done. It was a typical data collection sofware that did typical data collection software things.
