### "Great way to create consistent, organized plans"

March 29, 2021

5.0

I love paper plans, but I also love saving paper! PlanbookEdu is a great, easy to use software to create organized plans that follow a consistent schedule.

Pros

I love that it is so easy to create and edit recurring schedules. All schools have different schedules, but the ability to edit one single period, a weekly period, or a daily period makes creating a schedule template so quick and easy. Changing one single occurrence is great, because I don't ruin any other blocks when just one thing needs to be different.

Cons

There aren't all that many cons. I think it all comes down to preference. Do you prefer writing plans down on paper? Do you prefer using a specific type of software or browser? Many features are hidden behind a premium subscription, but $25/year is a fair price.

### "Versatile online lesson planning"

June 28, 2020

5.0

PlanbookEdu is a great tool for teachers at any level. My school does reimburse me for this yearly subscription but I'd still pay it myself just to continue this online tool. Whenever I need sub plans, I just add extra comments to the plans, add online link information, logins etc, print and they're ready to go for my substitute.

Pros

PlanbookEdu makes lesson planning a breeze. Once you set up your school year start and end date, along with number of planning periods in your schedule, PlanbookEdu produces a template. Simple features of copy & paste, click and drag, and repeat entries once, daily or weekly make setting up your planbook quick for those weekly specials classes (music, Spanish, computer..) and routine classes (math, reading...). It's easy to mark holidays, snow days or unexpected days off. I especially like being able to upload files that I can click and print for a day's lesson or include weblinks for songs, videos and other online lessons.

Cons

I've been very pleased with this software since I discovered PlanbookEdu many years ago. I was tired of writing my special classes and time periods over and over each week in the handwritten planbooks. When I planned ahead and a snow day or other unexpected cancelled school day was announced, I had to erase and start over my plans. One small note that I'd like to see PlanbookEdu add is more different colors. I use these to designate my weekly specials classes and events. The existing colors are look too similar.

### "Great for technologically-savvy teachers!"

December 12, 2019

3.0

I used PlanbookEdu for one year. I consider myself a pretty technologically savvy person, and I wanted to see how it felt to have fully digital lesson plans. It was a little bit more difficult for me personally, as I plan regularly with my colleagues. It was difficult to plan ahead, and look back at past weeks, during meetings. For me personally, a regular paper planbook was more feasible, but I have many colleagues and acquaintances that swear by Planbook! It's all about preferences between online planning and pencil-to-book planning. If you are someone who wants to plan digitally, this is a fantastic option.

Pros

I really liked the ability to have this planbook available digitally. It was one less thing I was carrying home at night, and saved on paper. The cost of the software was very fair, cheaper than many paper-based options. It was easy to use the features to meet my needs.

Cons

There were times where I wanted to print my plans to have a hard copy. The plans did not print well. The more information you put in for lesson plans, the more paper was needed to print the plans. They became difficult to read because of this - the same day was spread across multiple pages.

### "How to Make Your Administrators and Colleagues Happy while Staying Sane and Organized"

June 11, 2020

5.0

Planbook helps educators create complete, accurate, and visually pleasing lesson plans that can be shared with other teachers or submitted to one's Administration for oversight and approval. It is helpful for keeping a record of your past plans as well which makes it easier from year to year to start planning straight away, before the kids come back.

Pros

I started using Planbook over 6 years ago when I was a student teacher and have used it on and off (depending on my role for the year) ever since. First of all, it's affordable, which is a big deal for teachers who have to fund this kind of product on our own. Second, it helps teachers stay organized while making lesson plans, and allows for adjustments when schedules or caseloads change. It is easy to share, easy to retrieve, download, and print if needed, and because you can build your own templates, you are able to set up categories and reminders that prevent you from missing anything that your administrator might require.

Cons

It has improved over time, but some of the features can be a little clunky or old-school to relocate/duplicate/fill/edit. It was never serious enough to discourage me from using it, however.

### "Pretty Good"

January 8, 2020

4.0

Overall Planbook does the job pretty well. For years I had used my paper planner which had the days going down the side. It took me a while to get used to the calendar going across the top instead. It would be nice if they offered an option to go either way.

Pros

Online accessibility across platforms, Colors, Flexibility to set design (colors, fonts, font size, display layout, sorting), It's sharing options, and Google Calendar integration. Share lessons with other teachers.

Cons

When using Google Calendar, it bumps the rows out of wack. Deleting a series of days in a row is cumbersome (I copied lessons to the wrong class, then had to delete them... one at a time).

### "Planbook encourages effective teaching."

July 21, 2021

5.0

I love planbook and the many user friendly features.

Pros

Planbook is for people who love organization. It is aesthetically pleasing and helpful in so many ways. There is an area to type my plan, but also many other features. There is a title section, and also an area to choose a unit title. In the notes section, I hyperlink to documents that I need to print. There is a standard section which is so helpful. You simply search for the standard, and it is added automatically. You can easily extend, bump, or copy plans. You can also share your plans with another teacher!

Cons

If I extend a plan and my academic year is full, it deletes the last plan of the year. I wish there was a way to bump it without deleting it completely.

### "Nice Program for Planning"

December 10, 2019

5.0

I've used this program since I began teaching five years ago, and I think it's overall easy and convenient to use.

Pros

I like the option to include a particular format and repeat it for the following weeks. I also like that I can choose the amount of class periods I want to show on the screen. This is especially helpful for the subjects I have multiple classes for. I can combine them instead of making each lesson separate, which saves time. Additionally, I like that I can add attachments to my plans and also that my administrators and department heads can leave feedback for me. Further, PlanbookEdu saves all lesson plans from previous years so I can go back and reference them if I need to.

Cons

I have never really had any issues with this program; however, I think it would be a nice option to provide some lesson planning templates for teachers to use.

### "I live by this website"

December 2, 2019

5.0

If my school no longer paid for our subscription, I think I would purchase it anyway for myself. I live by my calendar!

Pros

I love that when things come up, I can easily "bump" lesson plans to the next day. It embeds easily into my website for students and parents to follow. It's customizable to my state standards.

Cons

I wish the turn in button was larger to remind me to press it when I'm finished.

### "Makes planning easy, repeatable and changeable."

September 11, 2021

5.0

Love my planbook. Being able to copy previous years classes to the new start dates really helps stay on pace for the grading period and students/parents love the one I embedded on my website.

Pros

I can link lessons directly to standards, and search for standards by keyword. Saves so much time. Can also easily more plans around it there is snow day or other disruption in learning.

Cons

Sometimes formatting gets a little messed up when changing things like background color or attachments.

### "PlanbookEdu Review"

August 28, 2019

5.0

PlanbookEdu has really helped me streamline and digitize my lesson planning

Pros

This is a good piece of software to use for building lesson plans in education. It allows me to put my objectives, standards, and general lesson details in one area. I can also create a pdf to submit to my administrators

Cons

It takes a little bit of work to set up each class/section. Once this initial component is done, you do not have to do it again until the next school year.

### "Love PlanbookEdu"

PlanBookEdu is so easy to use. You don’t have to be good at technology and it’s easy to print your lessons to reference all week long.

Pros

I looove PlanbookEdu! I use it weekly for my lesson plans. Not only does my admin get to view it electronically, but it keeps me organized for the entire week!

Cons

There isn’t anything I don’t enjoy about PlanBookEdu. It’s so easy to add in Standards and copy and paste and you can set up your books however you please.

### "I wish my whole team would use this"

November 21, 2018

5.0

This is a great resource for teachers who love technology and easy planning. It's also a great way to keep track of all those many papers and documents and organize them chronologically based off when they're used.

Pros

I learned about PlanbookEdu from a colleage and was hooked immediately. I love how easy it is to link my lesson plans to this and documents used so that all my digital resources are in one place for me to refer to from year to year. It's so nice to have this digitally so that I can easily access lesson plans from home or school without remembering to haul my notebook home. It's also nice when I'm able to collaborate with other teachers on my team so that I can see that we're on the same page. I like that I can have reoccurring events, easily include days off, and that it's easy to customize through color coding and font sizing and colors.

Cons

Unfortunately, we had one member of our group that was into a more traditional planning format (paper and pencil) so that's what we stuck with. Her argument was that it wasn't user friendly (I disagree) but that could be an argument for some that aren't as familiar with this form of planning.

### "PlanBook Edu Review"

December 4, 2019

5.0

Our overall experience has been nothing but positive. Planbook Edu allows for an easy transition from physical planbooks with a great deal of increased functionality.

Pros

Our teachers use planbook edu now to post digitial lesson plans, and it's a great tool for an administrator to quickly review lesson goals and directions, and more importantly, it's well organized for teachers to make updates that are helpful in their daily planning.

Cons

n/a - We haven' t found an issue in the software, and our team generally says it saves a good deal of time as compared to previous physical planbooks.

Pros

I liked how easy it was to navigate and to enter plans into the program. You are able to create multiple Plan Books. You can also link the account to Google.
