This makes it easier to review and search through log entries. When certain events happen on plant a log entry can now be filled out to capture this information. Old paper forms can be filled out electronically for document retention and they can be automatically e-mailed to the necessary people. Pros Very user friendly (You can fill out a log entry in just a few clicks. No more dealing with bad handwriting). Bulletin board at top of screen (Use like dry erase board in control room to highlight current plant issues). Easy to search data (You can view specific log data on screen, in an excel spreadsheet, or a PDF report). Set up automatic e-mails (When certain logs/templates/fields are filled out). The ability to attach custom icons or GIF images to specific log entries (This makes it easy to scan through multiple log book entries for a specific log entry type without even having to read their titles).
