While the platform itself has useful tools for managing a practice, my experience with the payment-processing side significantly changed my opinion. I was charged a recurring $29.95 PCI non-compliance fee beginning in 2022 without being aware that I was allegedly non-compliant or that these fees were accumulating. When I brought the issue to TherapyNotes and CardPointe, I was offered only a three-month refund. I am also concerned about a merchant application I do not recall completing or authorizing. Most disappointing was the lack of clear communication, transparency, and accountability. Based on this experience, I would not recommend TherapyNotes to other providers. Pros The platform itself was generally ok. However, my experience with the payment-processing and PCI compliance issues significantly overshadowed those positives. Cons The lack of clear communication regarding PCI compliance and the recurring $29.95 monthly non-compliance fee. I was charged these fees beginning in 2022 without understanding that I was allegedly non-compliant or that the charges were continuing. Heaps of positives. Rarely do you have to wait for help on the phone more than a couple of minutes. Pros Therapy Notes is an excellent billing system. It's very simple yet very complex. Best of all is the available 24/7 customer service. And, the customer service representatives are all in the United States. English is their first language. They're easy to understand for this hard of hearing billing novice. Therapy Notes has the best customer service this side of Apple. These people know their stuff and have easily resolved all issues I've faced over the last couple of years. Cons Zero negatives. This is an exceptionally well-designed therapy billing system done by people who know what they're doing. Cons I don't love the fast I need to pay over 70 dollars after tax per month just to use this. This is a huge cost for someone who owns a small business that is just starting. Customer service makes all the difference when you can talk with someone. Pros What can I say? What you pay for this program gives you more than value for your money. It gives you peace of mind. The customer support is incredible. You get the talk to real people, not AI. The app is easy to use and you can start the same day you start working away seamlessly. It is always updating with great new features and the ones already there make your life so much easier! When there are any bugs, they are always there to listen and make it right immediately. I always know when there is a problem because the client support system they have keep you on the loop. Their reports are no nonsense. You get what you want and if you can't find it, call them. Someone will literally answer and get you what you need. I can't see myself using anything else ever! Cons There is nothing I can't like about therapy notes. I wish they would expand to spa ware. If they would I would so change the one I am using for my holistic spa practice! I had to use another company for a short while and TN far outweighed them. Pros The customer service is consistently excellent. Also, it is a great value for the money. I recently began using the AI feature for note writing as it saves me a lot of time and works very well. It is now a joy to write notes! Cons I used the video capacity for multiple locations but have discontinued it. Also, sometimes the connectivity is not working, but that has been a minor issue.
