Pros Ease of use, great features too numerous to list. This is a review that I left on Trust Pilot and Google: Since I operate; a solo-office without administrative assistance, I needed to find a system that would efficiently work for me. I found Therapy Notes through an internet search. The single most important factor in making contact with Therapy Notes and deciding to contract with them was the perfect 5-star reviews for customer service. I can confidently say that the customer service is a perfect 5. Therapy Notes is a user-friendly, efficient, and thorough system to use. It did not take long for me to learn how to establish new patients, schedule appointments, upload all of my office forms, take payments and much more. Since I do not take insurance, I cannot comment there. This system allows you to bill multiple carriers and tracks payments. There are some features that I really like such as a "to do" list so that all of the necessary paperwork to keep an accurate file gets completed as well as the ability to send e-mail and text message appointment reminders. The patient portal is outstanding. I really could say so much more. If you are a mental health professional looking for a system to use in your practice, use Therapy Notes. Cons The portal form- Emergency & Other contact needs to include the steps the practice will take in the event of a psychiatric emergency, such as “ the provider will call the emergency contact listed, and/ the police.” Client’s should be asked to provide the name & number for their local police. I'm convinced there is no better product out there for our needs. As usual, we found customer service to be super helpful when we ran into a snag. The agent \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] was nothing short of a life saver, today. We were wrestling with an out-of-network situation that was inconsistent and complex. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] was relaxed and confident. She put us immediately at ease, was unrushed and carefully took us step by step through the process to accurately solve the issue. We've always appreciated Therapy Notes' customer service, but \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] was particularly outstanding. Kudos to her and thank you very much, Therapy Notes! There are a lot of EMRs out there - I feel like it's the support that makes the difference when something isn't working right, or I need to add a new feature. Pros It is an intuitive interface. There is always a learning curve to setting an EHR up in the beginning, but once you have that done TherapyNotes is very easy to use for both psychotherapy and prescribing. And customer support is always great. Cons It was a challenge to learn some of the terminology for functions, and figure out where settings could be found that I needed to set/change - but customer support has always been able to walk me through it. Hard to calculate when you have a client face to face asking you questions in regards to that. The print out for the receipts for the clients is very confusing for them as well because its not showing where there payment was applied too. -We have over 30 Clinicians, they obviously cant fit on one screen with there appointments, but they are taken completely off the page that you have to go into each one individually, maybe have a scroll bar at the bottom to just move for easier access to viewing there schedule for the day and checking in and out there clients. I have recommended this platform to colleagues who have been in the market for platform for mental health practices. Pros TherapyNotes makes it easy to manage just about everything in one place. Everything from scheduling, reminder texts/email/calls for clients, patient portal, electronic medical record, insurance billing, and credit card processing for payments. They even have a telehealth platform integrated. The customer support is top notch, quick to respond, timely and efficient, helpful and always pleasant! Cons The telehealth feature is basic and though it does the job - I have enjoyed features of another platform that I tend to use more frequently. Psychologist Higher Education Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Lacking Basic Functionality" January 17, 2020 2.0 Pros Our practice started using TherapyNotes in order to streamline our scheduling process - allowing clients to schedule their appointments online. Although this is an improvement over back and forth emails for scheduling purposes, some very basic elements are missing. Cons When a client requests an appointment, it shows as pending for the clinician, but it doesn’t send an email to that effect to the client. Therefore, the client doesn’t have a record of when they had requested an appointment, and they typically assume that the request submission guarantees that appointment time. The clinician has the opportunity to accept or decline appointment requests, but clients are only notified about the accepted appointments. When they are declined, the client is not notified. Clients can cancel appointments through the portal, which then notifies the clinician, but if a clinician cancels an appointment, again no notification is sent out to the client. Unfortunately, TherapyNotes is set up to appear as if these processes would be happening automatically, so many clinicians might not be aware of the lack of communication with clients. TherapyNotes Customer Support has been timely in replies to concerns, but has not been helpful. Despite the relatively quick and straightforward programming adjustment necessary, each Customer Support response has dismissed my needs, saying that it may get looked at in the future. November 26, 2018 5.0 I love that I can use one system for notes, plans, documents, upload, download, billing, accounting features, and I am even considering switching to also use TN for billing insurance eventually. Also love the very helpful and fast customer service and that they email. Pros Easy to learn and use, many great features, and fantastic customer service. So many people have recommended TN to me and what sold me was hearing about the ability to approve and co-sign notes, that their customer service is great, and the different roles and multi-roles available. All the prompts are helpful too and are subtle rather than annoying like some other programs might be. Very organized, clear, with great direction and easy on the eyes. It was easy to teach myself how to use it, and I would not even call it 'teaching' because they design it to feel intuitive and give guidance not only as you go, but also in a designated 'to do' area so that it is easy to manage and you can take your time. It has saved time, money and space. I own a group practice and we are able to have multiple clinicians using the system at the same time. TherapyNotes will automatically do the billing with one click once the client information is entered and the note is finished. The notes are extremely user-friendly and easy to use. The notes can definitely be filled out between sessions to maximize your time. There is also no need for bulky file cabinets as all of the client documents can be scanned and entered into the system. It is very user-friendly, even my most technology challenged clinician can use it at ease. Also, the customer service is amazing. You can ask them any question and they will answer it, usually within a few minutes, at most a few hours. I would recommend this product to any clinician who wants to keep his or her sanity and time. Everything is all in one place and life is much more streamlined for sure! This product has literally saved my practice. Cons The thing that I like least is that there is no client portal, which means clients cannot log in to schedule appointments or change them. We have our website set up so that clients can book their own appointments and we must use Full Slate to do this, so it means we must constantly go back and forth to the two sites in order to keep our calendar. It is easy to set up, and you have support all the time. Pros How easy and quick it is. I like the reminders. I love the billing system with insurance, and also with private pay. Cons I would like to have access to modifiable templates for consents and releases. For now I use PDF but for some clients it is a little bit of a learning curve. Pros TherapyNotes makes it easy to complete a full note for my clients in just a few minutes. With click boxes, writing boxes, and drop down tabs, I was able to make thorough notes in between sessions with my clients. This helped me to make sure that I stayed on top of my notes and always remembered what I talked about with my clients. Makes good use of drop-down boxes and check boxes to streamline note writing. Their online credit card processing has made things much easier and is cheaper than using Square. Cons There is no option for multiple copay options for shared clients within a practice. The pre-formatted progress notes are cumbersome at times.
