They know how to talk to you which is invaluable and as a therapist you walk through life seeing how people don't communicate the best at all times, well at therapy notes they always communicate exceptionally. They also send follow up emails to what was discussed which is so helpful. They are supportive, empowering and hand holding when needed. I love using the note taking, calendar, portal to send reminders and paperwork, along with the billing. It's just awesome. Pros The claim submission, EDI, the note format, the calendar, the portal for sending email reminders to clients and collect intake paperwork or other forms. It's all awesome. Cons That you there aren't more autofilled forms for intake paperwork. That you can't have client's enter in their payer insurance information into the patient information form and have it merged into the payers. I didn't think I would like it as much as I do. Pros Ease of use, keeping records up to date. I like the reminders that things need to be completed--such as treatment plans, etc. Cons Getting the portal working for telehealth sessions with clients has been a bit tough for those who may not be as savvy technologically. Sometimes its difficult to find and wade through the information on how to do something--setting up the client reminders of appointments is an example. Customer support is second to none, I'd recommend this solution to any private practice owner. Pros This EMR is as user-friendly as they come. Set up and integration are quite simple, scheduling is a breeze, and EDI claim submission requires little more than a click of the mouse. If you own a small to medium sized counseling practice, I highly recommend this product. TherapyNotes is a no-frills, cost effective solution for any practice owner looking to simplify scheduling and billing functions. Cons What Therapy Notes offers in ease of use, it equally lacks in reporting and analytics. If you are looking for detailed metrics at your finger tips, this is not the EMR for you. I will add that the Excel-savvy user can render useful data from TherapyNotes, but it does require a significant amount of manipulation if you wish to gain deeper insights into your practice. It is user friendly and helps me remember what I need to do. Creating session notes has become less time consuming and less overwhelming if you tend to be a bit of a procrastinator. I am just now learning the billing aspects and so far I appreciate how it lays it all out. I do not use the insurance/claims section, but as the rest of software is user friendly, I assume that part is as well. It has helped our practice in scheduling, allowing us to see all clinicians schedule so that double booking of the office does not happen. The price is just right for a small practice. Cons At this time I have not found anything that I do not like about this software. Owners always open to suggestions for improvement and will bend over backwards to do what they can to meet your individual needs. Highly recommend you give it a trial, you won't look back. Pros Very happy with this program and I evaluated a lot. It is easy to use and keeps one focused on meeting client goals. The risk assessment conducted at each assessment would stand up in a coroners court if ever needed. I am thoroughly impressed with all contact I have had with the producers of this program. They have made individual changes where possible as requested and maintained contact to advise of changes that will take a while to implement (e.g., international sms reminder function; change of time zone). Ticks all my boxes. Cons The American date system took a bit of getting used to and if I was tired, would worry I could enter the wrong date. Also the sms feature for international is still being investigated. I would like to see some additional on board tools such as the DASS rating scale, Audit etc; however the interpretive reports can be uploaded. The Cons are really just teething problems and I have found the owners to be VERY receptive to constructive feedback and ideas on how to improve - if they don't have it, mention it to them and they will look at the possibilities. Again, kudos to their customer service team. Everyone has been spot on knowledgeable and genuine. Pros The software is laid out in a very intuitive way. I can find what I need multiple ways. It is very easy to use which takes one thing off my plate. And if I ever have a question, the customer services is, hands down, the best I’ve found. Cons The only thing I would like to see changed is that I cannot create a superbill for clients until after I write the session note. I would like to be able to hand the client a superbill at the end of the session if they request one but I cannot do that. One service representative gave me additional advice on what to include with mailing billing to major insurance company to get reimbursed (he went beyond what other software companies have provided me in the past) Cons Need to include Objectives in progress notes; sometime don't want to include but maybe they'd help if i were audited.
