I like the structure of the forms used to write notes, treatment plans etc... The billing feature saves me lots of time. I can literally complete my billing in minutes. I found it!! Pros I used TherapyNotes for several reasons The program is simple and quick to write and document session notes The price to use is cost effective. The client portal is available for both non clients as well as established I love the reminders for both myself and my clients It’s the best product of its kind I have ever used Cons I cannot correspond to my clients through the portal, in the counseling feild or any medical field it's important to have contact with your clients. I especially liked the customer service call during my free trial to help me learn about all of the features and assess if I needed support. Pros This software is easy to use and you can add features and users (for fees) as you need them- teletherapy, appointment reminders, billers. The billing functions are very easy to use as well. I like the organization of the system as well. The customer service is beyond amazing. Cons The teletherapy is very basic with no special features. I wish there was an app, though the website navigates fine on a mobile phone. " March 20, 2015 5.0 Pros TherapyNotes has the best screen layout to be able to use across a laptop, tablet and smartphone. I was already saving a lot in going out on my own and leaving a counseling center where a large portion of my monthly fees were going to pay for receptionist and billing. Now, I can do all of that on my own in a much quicker and cheaper fashion. With the latest addition of a client portal, my time and be spent even wiser in helping clients rather than responding to so many emails, texts and phone calls about scheduling issues. Pros I really don’t like doing case notes, but TherapyNotes makes is as painless as possible. The record keeping and billing are simplified in comparison to other software I have used Cons My least favorite feature is that if I am not active on the site for a few minutes I have to log in again. Pros No doubt about it, therapynotes.com is a great product. It has a full set of all the features any therapist would need. I have good friends who love it. Cons Ultimately I decided to go with a different company that had a better user interface. Therapynotes was just distracting and cumbersome to use for me. Aesthetic matters a lot to software for me. The customer service is on point, hopefully the practice I work for is able to continue with a subscription. There are limited features for those of us who are associates, but I suppose it would be expected in a larger practice or agency. Pros That they offer a free trial, that teletherapy is easy to use, and the library of forms was super convenient. Cons The cost. Psychologist Used the software for: ### "Best Software System ever" December 5, 2015 5.0 Colleagues of mine had recommended therapynotes.com so I used the free trial for a month as I entered clients and their information. I was afraid of the billing process and not sure I would like the documents. Glad to say I was wrong!! I am so pleased that I signed up for this system and it is well worth the cost. The intake, treatment plan and progress notes are a breeze; with a direct link to EDT billing. With the push of a button, the system sends my billing and I get paid within 2-3 weeks on average by the payors with whom I am contracted. The system notifies me of any rejections and reminds me to write a note before I can bill. A plus is that the ICD-10 codes are built into the system, so as you start to type the DSM-V diagnosis, all the codes pop up and you can pick the right one. The system even sends free appointment reminders by email. It is very simple to set up clients. A bonus for me was that you can set up provider and billing in two locations or for a group practice, and the system accommodates that, with the second and subsequent providers having a lower fee. As an aside, when I added the Square to do credit card billing on the spot (they provide a free square card reader) with only a small cost per billing and no monthly fee, that completed my office needs. This is not that important but a prettier interface would be nice. I'm not a fan of TheraNest but they are kind of the prettiest. Pros The product is relatively easy to use, pretty intuitive. I think the pricing and the merchant credit processing fees are lower than Simple Practice, which is what I was comparing this product with. I love the To-Do tab. Cons A template for forms would be useful to allow users to just make edits instead of having to create one if they are new to the practice. The best part of TherapyNotes is the team of people that provide their personal touch and commitment to providing the best service possible. Pros The software is very easy to use and to customize for most practice settings. The team is continuously looking for ways to improve functionality and they value input from their customers. You get a live person on the phone quickly every time you call. Every problem that you have is resolved to satisfaction. The staff is overly courteous, helpful, and friendly. Pros The support for Therapy Notes is tremendous. You can always get someone on the phone to answer your questions. If they need to they will research the answers to make sure you get a correct answer. One can ask follow-u questions and the staff will continue to work with you until you understand the issue. Cons The fact that the billing process is tied to the signed clinician clinical notes. There is no way to link services to a clinician if they include overpayments you can not easily tell which clinician should get the money. Review Source Ukiah G. I was considering if I needed to pay a billing company to handle billing for my small start up counseling agency but Therapy Notes saves me a significant amount of money and makes it easy enough that I can handle billing myself. I love how easy it is to keep track of notes and what I need to do for each patient. Good stuff. Pros I appreciate that Therapy Notes lets a small provider like me take care of my own billing with a minimum of fuss. For the most part, the software is easy to figure out and I can get it done. If I have a problem, I just have to call them up and they will get it straightened out. Good product and great support. Cons I honestly do not really have any issues. I can quickly complete the note and then submit to the insurance company with one click before my next client arrives. My clients can access their schedule to check appointments or make changes through the client portal. I can also set up appointment reminders for those clients who want and need that feature. Cons waiting for update where clients can fill in forms online through the client portal. Once it is available my practice can become fully paperless without having to scan and shred. Cons: Constantly have to log in, almost every 10 minutes even when I am sitting working on the computer a lot of times its even a shorter amount like 5 minutes . The calendar disconnects from therapy notes all the time. Any time I call customer service it is always my internet or my computers fault even when every other website is working including medicaid (which is infamously known for not working.) We have had insurances that we did not put into therapy notes under out of network, and when I call customer service the answer was to change our password because someone else has it. There are only 3 people who have it and none of us would do that (and who would bother breaking into the account just to add and insurance that we already had in there under in network??) I will give them a little more time to fix these issues but, I am seriously considering asking my boss to quit using this site. This is a problem with your computer or network connection. It can happen with security software that deletes cookies, or a firewall doing flaky things. Hopefully you have been able to resolve this with our support team. As far as our customer service, I'm sorry you've had a bad experience. We track all emails in our customer service system and work to respond to everyone as quickly as possible, almost always the same day. Pros I really like that it can handle notes, scheduling, and all client information in one place. It makes it easy to see all of a client's information at a glance. It's also very helpful for one person to be able to do various tasks for a client with it's ease of use. Cons I would like to see improvements made in terms of portal requests for appointments...being able to save the details of what the client requested and who approved it so that it's attached to the appointment would be helpful (instead of having to do an advanced search). Pros The customer support is fantastic. When I speak with them, they are very helpful and will take the time to look at the issues and walk you through the issues. This is very valuable. Cons Lack of choice! They are very controlling, you don't have choices on the clearinghouse. In addition, there are too many steps to look at things, we like some of the other softwares that we use for other practices that allow us to do everything right in the patient's account and ledger.
