Used the software for: ### "Poor customer service" November 15, 2013 1.0 The customer service goes downhill as soon as you indicate your desire to cancel your account. I received a curt email in response to my request for instructions on how to cancel the subscription prior to the end of my free trial. I also incurred an accidental $96 charge to my credit card for the electronic insurance claim feature that I never used, and they refused to refund, stating that it would have been "credited" to my continued subscription with their service but that they "don't refund." I'll be filing a fraudulent charge claim with my credit card company. I tried resolving this issue with them over the phone and was floored by the agent's accusatory tone and unwillingness to even acknowledge my concern about the charge. She was so defensive that I asked to speak with a supervisor, at which time she very loudly informed me that she was the supervisor. Yikes. It seems like they're great as long as you're paying them or may potentially be paying them after your free trial ends. Just beware. In the meantime, I've started using theranest which has been awesome. This is important as there is usually not much time in between clients to trouble shoot billing. Cons There was only one time that it took a lengthy amount of time to get a response but that was due to the issue being fairly complex and even then it was less then 48hours and that is not typical at all so I'm not sure that this is even a con. March 20, 2015 5.0 Pros The structure of every form provided helps me stay in compliance with laws, ethics, and billing. I am always able to reach a live person when I need assistance, and they are always so courteous and smart. I am able to navigate with ease through the program. It is super comprehensive. I cannot imagine working with insurance companies and keeping everything organized can be any better. Cons TherapyNotes meets all my business needs. There is nothing it falls short short of. Cons Broken features (since 2012 that I have written to them about and they never fixed), invasive software that will LOCK USERS OUT if your system doesn't meet their requirements, constant and confusing changes that slows down entire reception staff while they attempt to learn new features and changes, expensive and cost ineffective pricing, lousy support, tons of downtime. This is the only way to go!! Pros Easily accessible from any computer, at work or home. Many options including directly billing insurance companies through TherapySites. I especially like the ease of filling out forms and storing them electronically. The calendar manager is very good and, again accessible from any electronic device. Easy printability when necessary and a "to Do' list lets you know when you have uncompleted notes or sessions to attend to. Cons There was a learning curve with knowing how to code sessions and schedule intakes or sessions with more than one person attending. Typo - you said TherapySites when you meant TherapyNotes. For the paper records you mentioned you can scan and upload any documents into TherapyNotes for secure storage, and then shred the originals, keeping your office paperless. Thanks again! KK Karen K. " January 22, 2018 5.0 The function allowing referring parties and potential new clients to view and schedule my calendar is really slick. This is what drew me to this software in the first place. Pros I very much appreciate the intuitiveness and ease of use with TherapyNotes. From scheduling to reminders, Therapy Notes helps with the organization of my practice in so many ways. I would highly recommend this software management system, particularly for therapists just starting a practice. It definitely made getting my practice off the ground much easier. Cons There really has not been much that I can complain about with TherapyNotes, except for billing. I am finding that the client billing section is not as intuitive as the other parts of this software, and that can be a little frustrating. Review Source LM Lauri M. I just got the credit card billing set up this morning and though the PCI part was too complicated for me, the Support Team had me up and running in a matter of minutes. Pros I did not need to read a bunch of information to get started, it was that easy. The Support Team is great and have got back with me quickly with any questions I have had. I am regularly getting paid thanks to the built in billing system. Cons I wish there would have been documents built in such as the Notice of Privacy Practices, Assignment of Benefits and some of the other HIPAA Compliant Forms. Review Source ES Elizabeth S. That's one of the main reasons I use Therapy Notes! Pros This program is intuitive to use. Nothing complicated about the software--it's simply easy to pick up on. That is one less thing I need to worry about during the day and it's so appreciated. Cons Maybe difficulty in turning a patient/client from Active to Inactive (just a lot of steps, don't have time for it a lot of the time). A bright, modern, and intuitive user-interface makes for a pleasurable and effective experience. We utilized this software for two different vendors in the second quarter of 2019 and, by the time we had moved on, I found myself wishing I could find another company using this program so that it could make my job so much easier. I would definitely recommend this to any office or professional looking for an intuitive software with an incredible customer service team to walk you through using it. Cons The only con that comes to mind is the absence of a mobile app. If they have one available, it was never made clear to me or any of my clients, and I could not get any information about it from the company itself. Pros I liked the flow and functionality of the program. It is also easy to use and intuitive. The screens are visually pleasant and easy to navigate. The program is also good for group practices and offers some really great features for therapists who see kids/families and hold group sessions. Cons The base price is reasonable, but add the cost of text/email reminders, electronic filing fees, and other add on features and it just wasn't worth the money. Review Source DP David P. I appreciate how well thought out the psychotherapy notes are, including all the important information needed in a very organized way. Being able to utilize TherapyNotes to process payment and insurance has been extremely convenient. The staff/support team seem to be great. I have nothing but good things to say about TherapyNotes. Cons If you accidentally use the wrong date and have to re-do a note, you are unable to delete the incorrectly dated note. And I have recommended this program to several of my colleagues. Pros Intuitive, flexible software that allows treatment planning, notes, contact notes, discharges, billing, scheduling and editing of nearly any component. Extremely helpful due to no paper piles! Sends reminders to update treatment plans, do notes, etc., etc. All in all, almost a "personal assistant" - as long as you turn it on! Cons Too much input needed in the basic progress notes. Many of the fields are optional, and you also can use the more generic "Consultation Note" if the progress note doesn't apply.
